There are not many places(that I’ve found) that sell a chicken gyro sandwich in the city, Nikos is one that does – and they do a great job! They are open to modifying orders if that’s your thing and they also have a drive-through which is great for cold/rainy days.

Food is delicious. Price is even better ! For $ 20 you can get yourself alot of food and come out of here with a very happy stomach. The only problem I had was I really didn’t like how the cashier who took my cash from the register also grabbed my bread with no gloves or tongs right after. I think he was a new hire because I’ve never seen him at this location before. I reached out to the manager the next morning and she was absolutely wonderful. That was the only negative comment I can say about this place. Food is very good.

Food is decent, but there’s never any ice in the machine when I go, half the time one of the drinks is out of order or empty. The place isn’t typically that clean often, and the a.c. has been down or off all summer… Good specials tho… I’d suggest you take it to go. I’ve been coming here for 8 years and it seems to slowly go down in grade each year.

Havent been here in quite some time. Had the Italian beef. It was tasteless and dry. Meat was tough. Not in a hurry to come back.

Food isnt bad, its what you would expect from this type of place. Although they do seem under staffed and the wait is annoying.

Sat there for 3 – 5 minutes before the guy stopped talking to another customer to take my order. We were the only people inside the place. Pita was rock hard. Couldn’t fold up the gyro to eat it without the pita breaking in half. Gyro meat must of been sitting out all day or the meat was left of the grill for 20 minutes too long. Meat was rock hard and about as dry as can be. The tzatziki sauce was the only good thing. So I guess that justifies the 1 star. Never again. Rather eat my shoe. *This is my first Unilocal review… Congrats niko’s.

The gyros used to taste better a few years ago. I came here twice and it was awful. Not sure if they change brands on the meat.

Awful service, awful food! Went in on a Friday about 3. I got the gyro, meat was dry and crispy. I ordered chicken tenders for my child and they were dry and so flat there was barely any meat on them. Needless to say after been out shopping all day we ate the awful meal. Upon leaving I let the cashier know I was very dissatisfied and I will never be back and his response was only to laugh at me! We will see who laughs last, from what I can see being the only customers in there and the horrible reviews you get, business isn’t so good.

If zero stars was an option, it would completely solidify my horrible experience. Completely messed up a fairly easy order, were extremely slow(3 people in the kitchen at 10:00 am), chubby guy with glasses had a bad attitude, oh & did I mention they nearly sent my boyfriend to the hospital? Fried chicken sandwich plain with just cheese & bbq sauce turned out to be grilled, no cheese, drenched in bbq sauce that it literally was no longer edible and contained lettuce & tomato. in which he is highly allergic to tomato! Can an inspector just shut this place down or undergo an entire staff change? WORST food establishment I’ve ever had. Side note: Even the fries are tasteless and bland. Anywhere is better than here.

Food was decent for a quick fix but I was extremely upset when i realized they forgot one of my hot dogs and i was charged for it! Really upsetting. They weren’t even busy how could they not remember an order? Smh. Never again. Left me hungry and ruined an already bad day.

This place doesn’t even deserve a star. Horrible place. I ordered a beef sandwich, omg this was like dog meat. So fatty, no taste and just plain nasty. We had to wait for the cashier to make our ice cream for 15 minutes because he was to busy talking with his friends. I went up to order something else and the rude cashier said«what do you need now» and just starred at me and rolled his eyes. Gross nasty place!

This place is down the street from us and I’ve been wanting to try it so my husband and I went in on Sunday evening craving gyros. Decided to eat inside, which was clean and nice and filled with a handful of diners. Ordered the gyro dinner(came fries and soup) and the gyros salad. Both were tasty and healthy portions, for the price point it was perfect! We will be back :)

The absolute slowest ordering process I’ve ever seen. These guys can’t figure out how to use the POS, or how to change receipt paper. They also go from handling money to directly handling the food. Gross to say the least. Edit: the cook just touched raw meat then built the gyros Food seemed like it would be fine, if not probably poisonous due to cross contamination… And took about 25 minutes for a gyros and fries. I won’t be bothering with this place again. Shitty even for a fast food joint.

What can I say. I’m a Italian Beef connoisseur. IMH this is in the top 5 of the city. The fact that it’s open late and has a drive through gives it the end that the other top 4 do not have. But it’s well priced. Reasonably fast. Give it a try

We decided to stop by here after my boyfriend’s basketball game. We both ordered gyros with fries and they were both delicious! They packed on a lot of gyro meat on our sandwiches, which was awesome. I just wish that they made the fries a little more crispier. It’s a great place to eat, just make sure you have cash on you since they don’t accept credit cards.

Their food is ok. Some of it is even good. I went in once and they said they have boneless wings. They do NOT. They have chicken strips. And they’re gross. Wait time is ridiculous. If you’re going through the drive thru, may the universe have mercy on your poor, poor soul.

Nothing special– the squawk box at the drive thru has been broken forever… I do think the Gyro’s are a good value and tasty– and I liked the Monday Cheeseburger Special which seems to have gone away according to another review I read below…

Some of the other reviews here are surprising; I’ve been to Niko’s five other times besides my visit this past Tuesday, and every time, it’s been incredible. This is particularly true over the lunch hour; I hit the drive thru every so often during my work-from-home day because it’s so easy. If you go to a place called«Niko’s Gyros», why would you get a cheeseburger? Or an Italian beef? Or breakfast? I agree, the menu is way too vast, but when I go to IHOP, I don’t get sushi… I get freakin’ pancakes. At Niko’s, I get gyros, because I know how to follow directions. And those gyros are magic. The meat is consistently tender, as tender as any other place I’ve gotten gyros in Chicago. The pitas are always cooked perfectly. One time, I did drive thru and took a call in my car that lasted 40 minutes… then I opened up the foil on my gyro, and it was still crazy hot.(This really scares me; what if I had actually eaten that bad boy right after it was served??) And, with tax, I can pick up two gyros, no sides, no drinks for $ 10.25. And there is easily enough meat to put on a third pita at home or do leftovers, these puppies are so massive. If any of you know of a more perfect situation – perfect meat, perfect bread, good tzatziki sauce, $ 5 – please call me directly. I need to eat where you are eating!

Yes. Their prices are relatively low. But since you get what you pay for… Niko’s used to have a daily special menu, featuring one popular item at a really attractive price one day a week. Each day, it would be something else. So if you lunched here every day of the week, you’d just order«the special.» Why they did away with that is a mystery. How can a fast food sandwich place be OUTOFITALIANBEEF? I walked in at 1PM on a Saturday and that’s the bad news I got. So, of course, I went over to Al’s Beef, kitty corner from Niko’s. Maybe on a Sunday I could understand a sandwich place having run out of Italian beef. There’s no excuse for this on a Saturday though!

Let’s make this simple. It’s quick, easy, cheap and good. They have lots of things to choose from from burgers, sandwiches, chicken and hot dogs. I always lean towards the gyro. It’s good, giant sized gyro. I always have to eat some of the meat with a fork first and then I can eat all together with the pita. It’s quick, easy, cheap and good.
