Went the other day to order for my family. I don’t know what has changed with them. When got home to eat my dinner was so spicy that I couldn’t eat it. I have health problem with GERD, why they don’t ask first if you want spicy if I didn’t ask for it. My daughter’s food was spicy as well, this the first time we encountered this problem, been customer for many years but very disappointed this time.

Tried New China on Division twice now. The first time I got the Kung Po Combo and it was really delicious, so I went back at a later date to try again. This time I got Mongolian Beef. I was unaware that if you want traditional Mongolian Beef(beef on top of onions and crispy noodles) you have to order it «old style» so I ended up with their self-invented«new style» which is a total mess with more broccoli than beef(I hate broccoli) in a soupy mixture of green peppers and baby corn, with watery brown sauce all over it. It was the worst Mongolian Beef I ever had. I don’t even know why they call it Mongolian Beef since it wasn’t even spicy and it didn’t taste like Mongolian Beef is suppose to taste like. I figured since the entrée and two egg rolls cost me nearly $ 14 that I was in for a real treat, but instead I ended up throwing out a bunch of broccoli that took up at least a quarter of the container. So I had one good experience and one bad, therefore I give them a middle score of three.

We were so glad when we found this place fresh tasty food… but recently we ordered and we can tell the ingredient quality has gone down hill and the food is full of MSG now as I had digestive issues and other symptoms of msg sensitivity the next day. Really disappointed. They also switched to styrofoam containers which can be sloppy and no one likes to eat out of… On a positive note the portions are HUGE!

Worst Chinese food I’ve had in Chicago. I had to throw it away because I couldn’t eat it. Even the rice had a very putrid taste to it. Disappointing!

This is the best take-out Chinese restaurant in Chicago. Great value, always ready before the expected time and nice people — support this local business, you won’t be let down!

This is the best take-out Chinese restaurant in Chicago. All you need here is the General Tso’s Chicken(In the lunch or dinner box, chicken fried rice included!) and the Hot and Sour Soup. I probably eat this meal 3 – 4 times a month and love it every time. Tonight was something else though. Chicken was perfectly crisp and shiny, fried rice was seasoned perfectly, soup had fresh, crunchy vegetables on top and the flavor was just right. I wish the moment when I unwrapped this feast could last forever. Besides all this, the staff here is very friendly. The food is almost always ready within 10 minutes when I call in an order to go. I take all my friends to this gem. One last weird thing to note for anyone this might apply to. I am from St. Louis and my favorite Chinese restaurant growing up was Hong Kong Wok. They sadly closed while I was in college and I’ve been on the lookout for anything that comes close. It took me four long years to find, but this, my friends, is THEONE. I daresay it is even better than my beloved Hong Kong Wok. Please give these nice people your business. They deserve it, you deserve it, we’ll all be happy. Forever.

Ordered through GrubHub — sesame chicken and kung pao shrimp along with crab rangoon. The rangoons were huge, but only because most of it was dough with the cream cheese in maybe 20% of it. Not very good either. The kung pao sauce in my shrimp seemed ok at the time, but as I’m eating the leftovers I notice how watered-down it is. Great spice level though. The sesame chicken was just ok. On the plus side, the delivery was fast and courteous. I just can’t see myself ordering from here again.

Inconsistent. The first time I ordered the food was actually good and the rice was PERFECT which is rare for a take out place like this. The second time I placed an order the food tasted f-ing disgusting. Like it had been sitting around for days and they just kept adding grease in attempt to revitalize it. Uneatable, really. I tossed it in the garbage.

Don’t eat here unless you want to be bedridden for days with body aches and intense vomiting. My girlfriend and I ordered from here last Sunday night. Monday morning came around and she had to sprint to the bathroom, she was throwing up and in intense pain for three days. I assumed it was the flu, as I thought food poisoning only lasted a day. Then my idiot self heated up her plain friend rice Thursday night and haven’t left my bed(except to vomit my brains out) since Friday morning. I wouldn’t wish this sickness on anyone. I just left the immediate care and they confirmed that this is food poisoning and some cases can last a few days.

I had a craving for Chinese food last night but our go-to place is closed on Monday’s. New China is in my neighborhood, was open, has delivery and good ratings on Unilocal so we decided to give it a shot. The delivery took about 55 minutes which for take-out Chinese seemed kind of long but I was also very hungry and perhaps a bit impatient. Maybe they were really busy? The delivery man was very nice however had trouble finding our apartment even after I gave explicit directions when ordering. The portions are HUGE. No joke two small dinner entrees is enough to feed a family of 5. We ordered the following items: Egg rolls — Very crispy but not a ton of flavor. Ended up covering it in sweet & sour sauce which we were given plenty of. There are 4 egg rolls in an order. We thought we were getting 2 so that was a bonus. Egg Drop Soup — Very tasty and still piping hot when it arrived. The size small is plenty for two people to share. Chicken Chop Suey — I can’t tell you how it tasted because they delivered Kung Pao Chicken instead. This was tasty however the sauce was very thick and there were some strange veggies in it. No peanuts. I was really craving chop suey so I was disappointed not to have it. Orange Chicken — DONOT, I repeat, DONOT order this dish. It was awful. The sauce was okay but not great. It seems like they poured the sauce on the chicken hours ago and left it to get mushy before delivering it. After a few bites, we ended up tossing it. :( Given the portion sizes, the prices were okay but a bit high. Over all, I wasn’t impressed and will stick with my go-to place.

It was okay. Huge portions, but not great quality. The orange chicken was soggy. The egg roll didn’t have much flavor. But the egg drop soup was thick and hearty. Delivered very fast, suspiciously fast. Led me to believe this wasn’t freshly prepared.

This is based off one experience. I ordered General Tso’s chicken, and it wasn’t good. The meat was very tough and dark. In some pieces, the breading overpowered the meat. I asked for extra spicy, and the chicken was mild at best. To fulfill my $ 15 delivery fee, I purchased the potstickers, which weren’t good either. Again, I experienced this restaurant in a small sample size, but I wouldn’t recommend the potstickers or General Tso’s chicken.

2 hour wait for any food delivery is unacceptable. Not to mention the original time quote was an hour. I won’t be ordering from here again. Staff needs a refresher course in managing expectations and the drivers need to learn the general vicinity of the neighborhood they work in and deliver to.

Have used this restaurant through GrubHub a bunch of times. They always arrive on time or earlier, and the food has always been great.

My coworkers every once in a while order from here. So one day I decided to join in. They have a lot of options for lunch which comes with an entrée, large portion of chicken fried rice, egg roll, and a soda all for around $ 7 – 8. The food is not so bad, pretty standard run of the mill oily MSG filled Chinese fastfood. The chicken fried rice tasted a little stale and cold. Nothing great or bad about it you get what you order, and on the positive side its a whole lot of food, you can even spilt the lunch deal with someone its that big. Delivery is quick, but just very forgettable food, value if your really hungry.

I’m shocked to read such positive reviews of this restaurant. I ordered 3 items, in which I found all of them in pretty bad taste. First off, the crab Rangoons were not terrible but not great. If you don’t like onions, this dish is NOT for you. The onions take away from the cream cheese and ruin the taste. I ordered ribs… Don’t know what I was thinking. They were so disgusting, had a very strange tasting meat. It was very fatty and the meat is a mystery meat. I threw the entire dish away. Lastly, I ordered a smoothie and it was super watered down. Not sure if it melted on the way for delivery. Overall, I wouldn’t ever order from this place again.

This place literally didn’t get anything right! Ordered the lunch special to share with my boyfriend for lunch along with the 8 crab rangoon(really, how bad can you screw up crab rangoon?) The chicken had a weird texture, rice was super bland. Eggroll sucked, and somehow the best part of the meal. The crab rangoon is my real issue. I LOVE crab rangoon and this was by far the worst I have ever eaten. It was FULL of chopped onions. No crab. Cream cheese was bland. Literally Inedible. And it didn’t come with any sort of sauce. Terrible. Just flat out bad. Will not be back. Also I have no idea why this place has any good reviews. Thumbs down.

Only delivery — food takes FOREVER always but I continued to get it… until Tuesday night’s wait of TWOHOURS+. Delivery times given: 8:30, then 8:41, then 8:40 — 8:50. 8:59 called GrubHub and they had a 5+ min wait. Called New China at 9:02 and was told, «She’s almost there! 3 – 5 minutes!». Called back at 9:27 to cancel. Calls ignored repeatedly — And repeatedly — I called about 8 times. The restaurant is a 10 minute drive from my place and apparently they don’t pick up the phone when they know they messed up. Received food at 9:31 with an apology of «address confusion» … For 2 hours? I’m sorry, did you think we were in Wisconsin? Seems like the restaurant and delivery person are spending their time doing other things and not delivering. Their excuse doesn’t make sense. We have ordered from here at least a ½ dozen times in the last three months, including a maaassive order on 10⁄19. If you’re lost, call the phone number on the order. We will be ordering Chinese from elsewhere going forward. Too bad because we liked it. But that’s probably because by the time we got it, we were starving and frozen dumplings would be good enough!

A solid spot in the neighborhood for Chinese food. The staff is friendly and very fluent in English.
