Just moved into the sovereign down the street and thought I would give this place a go. Stepping into the store brought back memories of the fun old mom and pop vid stores back in my hometown which disappeared(thanks blockbuster). The movie selection is great and the staff is awesome. Bought a National Video club card which is a smoking deal, card is $ 20 and gets you any 10 videos you want(some for 2 days some for 5). Don’t be a fool, rent from here!

This place is the greatest video store known to man. The workers are all super friendly(and that one girl who works there is super super cute), the prices are insane($ 1VHS rentals! $ 3 new DVDs!), it’s a great location, and they’ll almost always have what you want. Half the fun of the place is going in having no idea what you want to rent and just scouring the walls to see what you can find. I’ve caught up on years of movie watching simply by browsing these walls. Fuck Blockbuster, Frank’s is where you need to be.

«Genres? We don’t need no stinkin’ genres!» I really do like the fact that the new videos they get in are put on the shelves in the order they come into the store. The DVD’s here are all mixed up on the main wall. New releases are put on the top and everything else moves laterally down the shelf to keep the main wall full of the latest videos. There are some simple categories they get transferred into once the main wall is full. But their strategy makes browsing and discovery of something you haven’t seen before more fun than trying to remember if Galaxy Quest is comedy or science fiction. It’s either there somewhere or it’s not. They’re super friendly too. So if you’re looking for a specific movie just ask. They can tell you in second if they have it, and find it for you just as fast. The number of Jean-Claude Van Damme films is a bit disturbing. But on a personal note, they have a great horror movie selection.
