This is one of the largest and most beautifully designed gallery in Chicago. It’s a gem of a place and probably too much of a secret because of its Westside /North Lawndale location. I’ve talked to patrons, visitors and artists from all over and they’ve all said that MurphyHill Gallery is one of the nicest galleries they’ve ever been to. Good thing is that you don’t have to worry about paying for parking, there’s plenty of space. From the train, you take the Blue Line straight to Homan/Kedzie. The gallery is 3 – 4 blocks away. This is also a great space to host events. I’ve seen everything from classes of students coming in to do school projects to business conferences to live taping of poetry events. The owners are Ralph Murphy and Bill Hill. Mr. Hill is the curator. They’re both very approachable, friendly people.
