Mind Space

Lisa and her crew work for my 6-​unit condo association. They have been shoveling our walks since 2012. They are very reasonably priced. They remove the snow from our front walks, 5 flights of back stairs, our back walks, and out side the garages in the alley. The crew is delightful and speedy.
Lisa and her team have also done hardscape work for our building as well. We live on a street with small parkways and nothing would grow in them. Lisa recommended that we put pavers down in the bulk of the space and leave small beds around the trees. It looks amazing. Our neighbor to the south liked it so much that they hired MindSpace to do their parkway. The following summer, the building three doors south opted to hire MindSpace to pave their parkway. It really looks nice. These neighbors also hired Lisa and her crew to remove snow.
Two of my neighbors in my building hired Lisa to design their gardens. In both, Lisa put down pavers and planted trees, shrubs and perennials. I shouldn’t speak for my neighbors, but I think it looks amazing. I am on the third floor so I get the aerial view of both gardens. The view is fabulous and was a big improvement. The best part is that I didn’t have to pay for it, but it improves my view and the curb appeal of the building.
If I ever get a house with a yard, Lisa and MindSpace will be my first choice for my landscaping and snow removal needs. BTW, she has a great, dry sense of humor and her team is polite and friendly. They were very clean, too.
I like to give them hot chocolate after they finish shoveling. They deserve it!

Well, we had such high hopes for having our front and backyards re-​landscaped! Sadly, it did not work out that way.
The owner, Lisa Willis seemed friendly enough, and provided what seemed like a reasonable estimate. However, this is where the good vibes ended.
I asked her to have our backyard evened out and then resodded. While the old grass was taken away, and some dirt too, it remained just about as uneven as it was before we started. Our brick path was also reinstalled very unevenly, with a huge bulge in the middle, causing rain water to accumulate there — the very thing I was trying to eliminate.
When I tried to talk to her helper, who did not speak very good English, he tried to convince me that it was even. Like my eyes don’t see level.
The front yard situation is even worse. She insisted on putting a brick ring around our tree — adding some ungodly amount of money to our bill. Then, she didn’t even follow through with the reason for the brick ring. What?
She refused to communicate with our water gut (see Aquaman review) which then cost me even more money and time. The plants she planted in the front were hideous, and I can only hope that is if she sees this review she is so angry that she’ll come rip the stupid things out. She’ll be doing us a huge favor for our planting in the spring.
She was not very available over the phone, did not provide photos of what she was planting, barely provided a list of what she was planting, expected me to communicate with someone who didn’t speak English, and did respond at all to my dissatisfaction.
Live and learn, and then steer clear of Mind Space. Believe me, my mind is now crowded with the crap she planted!
