Well I was on my way to another store and right before my eye’s A MAC store so I pulled out my phone and saw that this store has bad reviews but I’m going to give them a try any way and if I’m not feeling them I don’t have to purchase anything. Well y’all I’m happy that I did visit the store on today. I was able to restock up on plenty of my make up. And decided on some new eye shadows and lip stick. Nice vive in the store my make up artist was very nice and upbeat. Always a plus. Music was not to loud. And plenty of customers coming in. So as for me I enjoyed the customer service and the make up selections we amazing. Yes I over spend today but when you find everything that you have been looking for and more You don’t mind sending. Over all had a nice experience and will return. And I just have to add that this place was very clean. Each station was very well organized to its best. Great and wonderful. 2 stars for customer service and nice make up artist 1 star for a great make up selection 1 star for the nice and clean store

After a great experience at Macy’s Mac in Vernon Hills I decided to go to States st location for an evening makeup. After being seated and picking colors, I usually let the makeup artist do his job and improvise if needed. When I mentioned the lipstick color I want, the lady said: ‘Yo I am not finished yet’. My preferences were not heard, and I do not even mention the layers of foundation and powder that made me look as I was about to go on stage.

The customer service at your MAC counter is pretty bad. I was standing waiting in line until it was my turn to be serviced. When I got to the counter the worker saw me and began to do other tasks at the counter. She didn’t even speak and acknowledge I was there or even smile. I stood and waited for 5 minutes as she continued to ignore me, along with the other 5 workers at the counter, 2 weren’t even doing anything(just talking to each other). None of them said a word to me. After about 10 minutes of standing. The worker walked away and left. She didn’t even give me a notice that she was leaving. Which would have been nice to know as I waited while other customers were being serviced by the other 2 women working the registers. I would have been fine with her at least telling me after all of that waiting that she was off of her shift and had to leave. It seemed like I didn’t even exist, to not even acknowledge a customer is horrible.

Going into the bathroom and adding some color for a quick meeting made me remember how bad of an experience I had here. I went on a regular weekday after work looking to reup my everyday nude I use(mauve.) I had on normal clothing, nothing too flashy. The sales guy was yawning the entire time, didn’t have the color I need, looked like I was wasting his time and kept saying ‘huh’ and ‘what.’ Was not friendly at all. And just when I came in originally getting my everyday nude lip, looking for a few extra colors to add to my collection, an eyebrow pencil and a concealer– I didn’t want to bother his precious day any longer(and proceeded to sephora.) The only reason why I gave it an extra star is because I can say they were beyond fully staffed and that’s RARE for a MAC store.

I love Mac products and never had a problem with the service till today Sunday I went around 3 pm because I just bought a new foundation so I decided to go back because I was checking on the internet the different types of foundations that they have, i was interesting on to try it on to see the differences before i decided to stay with one, like the math master and the pro long wearing. It was only one lady I don’t remember, her name an I understand she was the only one there so I told she can take care of the other person because I want it to try other foundations before I make my finally decision she told me that she didn’t recommend me the other foundations because one has less tones to choose and the other one it was to heavy. I felt like she didn’t want to let me try other foundations! She told me that the studio fix it was perfect for me. I’m the customer if I don’t feel comfortable it was her job to let me try the other foundations and then I can decided which one I want. I though if the customer has the finally decision? I will never go back there!,

So in terms of makeup, I would say that I like things«au naturale» but from time to time I like to switch things up. That being said, I decided to update my makeup collection(foundation, concealer, etc.) and went to the MAC counter at Macy’s. The first one next to NARS&LUSH was WAAAY too crowded so I traipsed over to the second counter located near Bobbi Brown. Since I always feel like a complete idiot when it comes to choosing makeup products, I asked one the sales associates to help me find the correct foundation for the specific coverage/finish I wanted. I can’t remember her name but she was polite, and she seemed extremely knowledgeable. We decided on the product that would most benefit my skin type, which I actually liked, but things got hairy when we started trying on shades. As I sat in the chair during my consultation, I watched her try different colors on my jawline. Though it took her awhile, she finished(or as she called it, «touched up») my face and then gave me a mirror to check for my approval. In the dim, fluorescent lighting that tends to dominate most dept stores I looked fine, and happy with the consultation I purchased the foundation she suggested along with a few other items I had spotted. I thought I had had a successful shopping trip until I got home and looked at myself in the bathroom mirror. There’s no other way to say this but I LOOKEDLIKE A CHOCOLATEBAR. I was greasy, my face was at least THREE shades darker than my body and it literally looked like I was melting(even though it was 40 degrees outside.). I’m no makeup Guru, but I’m pretty sure your face should be the same color of your body. I felt so friggin’ embarrassed, mostly because I took the CTA home and during the entire ride I kept wondering why I was receiving weird stares. Next time, I will just try the makeup on the back of my hand. But on a positive note, the concealer and blush(that I chose) were both great.

Oh how I love thee MAC. But, unless it’s for a quick stop for a product, I won’t necessarily go to all MAC counters for some honest, sage advice. Enter Vesna and her crew. They are helpful with makeup application, tips, and know all the latest product information as to what is getting discontinued and sent in. Boo, that my liquid liner is getting discontinued. Yay, that I bought 3 tubes to stock up. And unlike the counter that’s a stone’s throw away(NARS), their staff isn’t at all pushy, and they take their sanitary issues seriously here.
