The menu is very limited, the food was bad! Wasted money, as a black person I felt unwanted, I noticed several watching as though I might skip out on paying bill, the Hispanic busboy tried to take the plates even though I said wasn’t done. If your black or non black and have zero tolerance for this kind of stuff just go elsewhere and avoid this high priced greasy spoon.

First of all, I wanted everything on the menu. Fortunately we got a seat right away on a saturday around noon. The décor is stunning. I am so happy I live in the neighborhood and I can come to this restaurant easily. It is a pleasant experience all around. Settled on the harvest salad. It did not disappoint.

M Henrietta on the edge of Andersonville is small and crowded and a nice place to have a very good breakfast… period. They take simple things and make them better. Even my simple scrambled eggs came with tasty friend potatoes and plenty of ‘em. The fried egg sandwich is a hit; the french toast, the other offerings are fresh and wonderful. Prices are reasonably low(heck, my breakfasy was less than many McDonald’s items). It IS crowded and service may require some waving down; it’s busy; accept it. Hate the wait? Stay home an try, just rry, to do it yourself. I certainly can, but for a sweet morning and a walk around the area, this is as close to perfect as I could ask for. Kudos to our daughter for bringing us here; she’s got a good place to bring us to.

ordered the . mango & sour cherry cinnamon roll french toast — a twist on french toast made with one of our home made brioche cinnamon rolls, layered w/warm mangoes & sour cherries, a dollop of vanilla neufchatel crème & topped w/a crunchy granola crust. i love sweets but dammmmm! this is way too sweet haha and i didnt like the toast to be soaked in a pond of syrup. jorge’s chorizo scramble — eggs scrambled with spicy chorizo, sweet corn, and poblano pepper, served with sour crème, salsa verde, queso fresco, sweet plantains and house potatoes. this plate was too salty for my liking. other then that i couldnt really taste out other flavors in my food. i have gone to many brunch restaurants and this is probably the worst ive been too.

I had the quiche. I found the portion to be smaller than I would have liked but our server was phenomenal and offered options to supplement. It was also very affordable. I cannot wait to go back.

This review is based on a take out order. Loved the décor! Such a cute place but did not have time to eat in. We ordered off of the breakfast menu: My boyfriend had the fried egg sandwich. He thought it was okay and he could make it at home. I got the blackberry bliss cakes they were good but I thought the cakes were a little soggy. HE liked my meal better than his. We also ordered the chicken sausage which was okay a little bland and the house potatoes which were okay not really any flavor. We hear that the brunch menu is a little better so willing to give M Henrietta’s another try soon.

This place is ok. Everything looks and sounds better than it actually is. I had the Vegan Epiphany. It was good to have a vegan option, but it was over seasoned/salted. My friend got the chorizo scramble and was not pleased. The SERVICEWASHORRIBLE!!! We had to remind them that hey, yea, we need silverware, and oh, napkins might be helpful. The dude brought the soymilk and regular milk that was for our iced coffees in super large mouth latte cups… yea, thats a great idea. Needless to say, milk was spilled and… I’m not crying. **Disorganized place that kept us waiting in the beginning for our drinks and in the end for our check. boo. This would make sense if the place was even more than halfway full, but it was not. again, I say boo.

There are so many positives for M Henrietta that I can’t not give this place 5 stars. Positive #1 We came on a Saturday morning around 11:30 and found out that there was no wait! Positive #2 Great service at a very good pace. Our waiter had perfect timing throughout our meal — coming at all the appropriate times to take our order, fill-up water, ask if we needed anything else, and to bring our checks and boxes. Positive #3 The menu was not too simple and not too complicated. One page front & back plus a small piece of paper on the side for the specials. There was a great selection of breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. Positive #4 Chorizo scramble was awesome! The potatoes that it comes with are even better and very addictive. I was already full but I kept picking up those potatoes to eat. Loved the plantains on the side too. Positive #5 Great ambiance! Very cute place for a get-together. Basically, M Henrietta is everything I want when I go out for brunch :)

It’s a shame this location has closed. However, never fear, my review below applies to M. Henry as well! Whenever I eat here for Sunday breakfast/brunch, I quietly chant«Adobo, Adobo, Adobo!» in my head while I drink really good coffee as I wait for a table to eat — Adobo sauce on an excellent omelet-type dish that I can only describe as roughly Mexican yet still Yankee by birth.(Just like me.) Try the bread pudding. Don’t like bread pudding? Try it anyway. Trust me. Oh, and go early — the line gets long.

Crazy Sunday brunch scene with long lines of 1 hour plus. We ordered Stuffed poblano — ok slightly salty Lemon French toast — good! The right texture and taste Not worth the wait for the food and pice

Sunday Brunch Review. Showed up around 12:30 with a party of 5. I don’t believe they take reservations, but we put our name in and was told a 30 minute wait, which was about right. They crammed us in at a table for 4, which we agreed to due to all of us being hungry. Within 30 minutes of being at the table, the place cleared out and there was plenty of seating. Our server was nice and attentive. The place is BYOB — which we did with 2 bottles of bubbly — and had them bring us a pitcher of orange juice. All the food was good and portions were generous. I had a Latina omelet and it came with mango salsa and potatoes — filled with shrimp. If I lived in the area, this would be a regular brunch spot. Love the BYOB!

I have three words for you: BLACKBERRYBLISSCAKES. Every time I am in Chicago, I *MUST* have these. At first, my sister used to take me to M. Henry, but then they did the M. Henrietta spin-off resto closer to Rogers Park… which was perfect because we could walk there from her church. The ambiance in here is nice, although it does feel much more cramped than M. Henry — we were seated at a table right outside a door/wall, and the waiters kept bumping into my sister’s chair which she found annoying. Okay, back to the bliss cakes. They are amazing — fluffy and flavorful! They come topped with extremely fresh fruit — in this case, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries — and plenty of mascarpone(I’m convinced this is what makes them spectacular!) in between the two cakes. They also add granola for a little bit of a crunch, and powdered sugar to complete the taste assortment. Hands down, AMAZING! And, a little tip from me to you: they offer these in «half sizes», but don’t do it! There isn’t as much/any mascarpone, and you WILL miss it. In other news, my sister had the rustic peasant quiche, which she said was delicious. I got a side of the house potatoes, which included some tasty onions. They also recently developed a kids menu — from which my niece ordered fruit and sausage(both good), and had a ball coloring the page after(they gave her crayons). Go now — and get the bliss cakes!

I came here today for brunch around 11:30. There were two of us and we were seated right away. It took a few minutes for the waiter to come over, but once he did we gave our order and our coffees were out right away. I got fannie’s killer fried egg sandwich. I missed that it said it at gorgonzola cheese on it; not a huge fan of gorgonzola but it was still pretty good. While they tasted good, the potatoes were very room temperature. My friend got the pancakes, which he enjoyed and I, too, thought were quite tasty. Very good food, cute place, nice staff — I’ll come back to try the grilled cheese sandwich next; it sounded really good!

Great brunch spot that provides a cozy, social atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you take your mom for Mother’s Day. The quiche is made daily(very moist and seasoned really nicely), the porketta sausage tastes homemade, and the salads are light but dressed well with fruit and radish. The French toast is basically a desert because of the Berry sauce and sugar, but I say that positively. I didn’t think the coffee was good because it tasted slightly sour and my friends brunch potatoes weren’t warm but aside from that, all was fine and priced well. Service accommodated very well.

Classic brunch with fresh fruit that serves as more than just a garnish. These little finishing touches gives M. Henrietta a real comfortable, delicious, and welcoming experience. Their dishes are deliciously balanced with fresh ingredients and savory seasonings. I enjoy the Mexican-inspired dishes like the Jorge’s scramble and the Omeleta Latina. Their plantains are a treat. Coffee is also great quality and bottomless. The only thing I would change to improve this place is that they don’t really mix up the menu much. And then they get rid of some great dishes, like the drunken poblano. I don’t think this dish is really seasonal, as I make it year round. They seem to have the same dishes all the time, and I really wish they had specials or mixed it up sometimes. Still, this is a not-to-be-missed brunch spot in a city that has tons of brunch options.

This place is great! They have an awesome outdoor seating which is very nicely done in the summer, I would suggest it. M Henry and M Henrietta are almost the same(As noted), but the menu is creative(and did I mention delicious?). Keep in mind that although they have fairly limited weekend hours, they are still very specific about when they will serve breakfast vs lunch, which can potentially be an issue. I guess it’s not unlike Tweet in that sense. I can’t say too much about the food as it’s been too long for me to remember what I ordered explicitly, but I do remember that I liked my meal. I guess that means I’ll have to come back and eat here again.

A super-cute brunch spot that offers fantastic vegan options. I was quite pleased with the vegan epiphany, which came with scrambled tofu, potatoes, and fruit. I absolutely loved the potatoes and also thought the scramble was flavored well. I’ll be back for sure!

3.5 — Big brother m. henry, this is not. I just didn’t have as good an experience here as I’ve always had at m. henry, but I’m partial. I will say the wait is MUCH shorter, I was quoted 10 minutes, but my dining companion hadn’t arrived. Once she did, I let them know and we were seated in 2 minutes. Shocking! Unfortunately that’s the only part that was fast, our food took forever to come out, and we sat salivating over everyone else’s plates. The menu is very similar to m.henry. Having had an amazing baked egg concoction before, I ordered the brioche baked egg with truffle oil. It looked amazing, but was far too bready for me. My friend noted that it would have made more sense to add some ham and make it a croque madame(suggestion box!) I had requested that the egg be baked through so it wasn’t too runny, but it came out runny anyways, which kind of ruined it for me. The highlight was the delicious salad with sesame vinaigrette! I could eat a whole meal of this! My friend’s salmon omelette was very tasty, but came out cold. Disappointing. They do have a back patio, so that’s awesome, but the inside space lacks the charm m. henry has. Overall it has an appetizing menu, but I’ll stick to m. henry in my hood.
