$ 45/mo. Isn’t bad considering the convenience of having a gym in the same building that I work in. I got my first month as a Christmas gift and the staffer was nice enough to waive the $ 100 initiation fee and let me start a few days early. I suspect that the fee was waived because she assumed I wasn’t serious about using the gym beyond the free month. Incorrect. I just completed my first month and I have yet to be given proper access to the gym as it is secured by a building key card system and my key card has yet to grant me access. I was told when I started that I would be given access, I asked directly twice to be given access, and I reminded the staffer on numerous occasions that my card still wasn’t working. I’ve had to sneak in all month by tailgating behind other members or by flagging down members that were already in the gym working out. It has been frustrating but passable, barely. Yesterday was the first day that I wasn’t able to work out because I wasn’t able to get in. And as much as I would like to work out on the weekends, but I haven’t tried, again, because my key card doesn’t get me into the gym. The facilities are decent. The machines are well maintained and clean. The space is more than adequate during the hours that I use the gym. I keep my workouts really simple so I don’t use many of the available weight machines but they appear to be in excellent condition. I never have a problem getting on a treadmill or other equipment when I want. I never have a problem with other members being inconsiderate and leaving a mess. The locker rooms are clean. The gym is great. The customer service is awful, oddly just for me because I observe the staffer being exceedingly friendly with all the other patrons. The only explanation I have for such negligent customer service is that the waived initiation fee is money out of the staffer’s pocket which causes resentment, coupled with a gross underestimation of my desire to visit the gym regularly. I will most likely go back to working out outside/at home and save myself the money and sacrifice the meager amount of convenience that a workplace-located gym affords me since it’s clear that my patronage is not appreciated or needed. I reached out via email to the staffer to figure out payment for March and to request again that’s key card be activated and I received no response back almost 24 hours later. I have now reached out to the LifeStart support to seek resolution but no matter what anyone ends up doing to help me out, it won’t change the negative customer service experience I’ve had this far.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, I too found this gym for $ 25 a month through my health insurance fitness network. It’s right across from my workplace and is generally a pleasant experience! I try to avoid going during busy lunch hours, as the men’s locker room is a bit on the smaller side. The gym just has the typical ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical/arc/stair stepper things, and resistance and weight training machines. It’s great that you get 24 hour access as well as towel service and toiletries in the locker room like mouth wash and q-tips. So far I’ve had no issues with LifeStart, except as mentioned, the wipes tend to run out and aren’t replaced timely.

I needed to find a solution to no free gym in my building. There was always a free fitness center in my building in the previous 2 companies I worked at, and the gym in my building was charging a ridiculous $ 50 per month for such basic machines and weights. This place I was able to get a $ 25 monthly membership through my health insurance company, and I feel like it’s worth it. I haven’t had to wait for any of the elliptical machines as of yet. The women’s locker room has spacious showers, cucumber scented shampoo and body wash, conditioner, deodorant, hairspray, cotton balls, and q-tips. Of course there are towels, hair dryer, and I saw a curling iron. It’s great knowing I don’t have to bring a ton of extra stuff. There are a few minor things that need some upkeep such as replenishing the wipes to clean the machines. For some reason otherwise it always seems to be out when I’m using it and end up using my towel. Also some of the tvs were not working properly as stations weren’t coming in and then music would be heard in the headphone instead of the commentary on the channel, drainage issue in one of the showers, and one of the hair dryers seeming like it’s dying. The manager here is great and instructs some of the classes. I hope I will still be motivated to take the short walk out here during the winter.
