Along side of the Bloomingdale Trail and tucked away in a combination ware house combining artistic studios, For Dog Sakes (that sales organic dog food-​see my Unilocal review for this) and a large truck repair shop, is Kurt Gippert Bookseller. I stumbled across their outdoor book sale and felt like a pirate who discovered a long buried treasurer. I found «The Complete Political Works of Whittier-1894″,“170 Chinese Poems», a signed copy of Maxwell Street by Ira Berklow,“Gourmet’s Menu Cookbook”, and «The Complete Chinese Cook Book». I might pass on the Squirrel, but spicy frog legs, duck, and squid, yum! All of these were hard back additions, and I brought another ten books, all this for under 35 dollars!
Seeing that I’m a serious bibliophile in the making, the owner took me in the back to see his serious works. Gippert has rare works thousands of years old that sell for thousands of dollars. Most of his business is done online for buyers in New York, where people actually appreciate books!
But hey, if you love books, seriously check this place out what ever your budget!
