Jen Bean Artistry

Jen has been doing my hair for several years… been following her around from salon to salon… now to her own place! She has done everything from my haircuts to bridesmaids hair and make up to my engagement shoot. now she’s doing my wedding! Always on point never disappoints!

Jen did hair and makeup for me and a few family members for my wedding in Chicago on May 30. She did an absolutely outstanding job, and I can’t recommend her enough! I’m not really a hair and makeup person, and I frankly gave her very little direction. She somehow magically figured out exactly what I wanted, though of course what she ended up doing was far better than what I imagined. She did a braided, piece-​y updo for me that was the perfect balance between elegant and youthful/​fun. She and her assistant (so sorry, the name is escaping me right now) made everyone in the party (age range 25 to 60s) look amazing. The hair and makeup lasted through a long night of emotional toasts, partying, etc. Jen and her assistant themselves were fun, very down-​to-​earth, yet totally professional. They put us right at ease.

Jen Bean is an exceptional and talented stylist. Being in the industry I’ve seen my fair share of okay, decent, good and great stylists. Jen is definitely great! Long hair specialist that understands and actually listens to your needs/​wants. There can be a gray line between the translation of what the client wants and what that actually means to a experienced professional stylist. Jen handles those situations flawlessly and really gives her clients what they are wanting.
She is one of the best stylists that has ever cut and/​or colored my extensions. Extensions are a different ball game and need to be cut and colored differently. She found solutions that was the least damaging to my hair as well as giving my extensions shine and elasticity. I haven’t colored my hair in years and I did for the first time with Jen and I get compliments daily on it.

Bean is the absolute best stylist I’ve ever had. I have difficult hair and a low tolerance for maintenance, and she sends me out of the chair with a cut that looks great with almost no work on my part. She also offers tips and advice on how to avoid looking like a crazy person who doesn’t really understand the concept of a flatiron. I’ve been getting my hair done by Bean since I was in college, so she’s been with me through the asymmetrical turquoise hair patch period of my life, and she’ll be helping me with my wedding styling later this summer. She’s rad– Her very slick model styling is super impressive, of course, but she’s also a very down-​to-​earth person with a great sense of humor. An absolute artist, and super skilled with the shears.
