I hate Chicago Style Pizza so read reviews and decided to hoof it up to Jimmy’s. Fantastic pizza. Not exactly NYC but what is NYC really besides a lot of attitude ;-) After taking the L to Western then walking up(made me regret not taking the car out of the garage!) western/lincoln, we ordered a full 16″ pie. Hard to eat it all but I did my best. Pepperoni & Sausage. The Italian Sausage should probably be broken up into smaller pieces but it still tasted fantastic. Next time I’m in Chicago I’ll be back, just with my car as well. Thanks Jimmy’s for living up to the billing and great reviews(more AC would have been nice, but Chicago isn’t supposed to be that hot, right?).

So, I’ve lived in northern NJ for about 10 years of my life. Then, I had to move to Chicago. We spent months trying to find a good pizza place, but, never did. Then we came across Jimmy’s. We drove for about an hour and finally arrived. The pizza’s foldability is 10 star, crust is crispy, sauce is light, thin, and a little sweet, and there cheese is not only on top of the sauce, it is perfectly oily and stretchy. Just as a side-note, they’re garlic knots are amazing. Now we come here every month and buy about 7 pizzas to last us until the next visit. Would highly suggest coming here for fresh, authentic, New-York-Style pizza. It’s pizza with pizazz.

This place magically combines two things I love: NY Style pizza and beignets. I think it’s strange that I found my two loves in one heavenly place, but I am not complaining. The sausage slice makes my tummy smile, and then I accent my joy with an order of beignets. Yes, please! These are some pretty damn tasty beignets that can only be topped my Café DuMonde’s. Highly recommended.

I. Love. Jimmy’s. I have gone twice in the last month and each time received exceptional service and delicious food. The first time I went, my husband and I got there at around maybe seven pm on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t extremely packed. All the pizzas on display looked awesome, but I was told by a local that I have to try the white pizza. To be honest, the large amount of ricotta that glared at me turned me off. I HATE ricotta. I don’t eat lasagna because of it, and usually if it’s on something, I’ll pass. But I love me some white pizza, so decided to go with that anyways. Along with a slice of that for each of us, we also ordered a slice of pepperoni and barbecue chicken pozza, garlic knots, and beignets(sp?). Yeah, we were hungry. The total kind of threw me at first cause it was in the high twenties, but we did order a grip of food. First off, the pizza? Bomb. The pepperoni was greasy but cheesy and flavoeful. His BBQ chicken was slamming as well. When I moved on to the white pizza I was definitely full but couldn’t help myself. I had to finish it. It was super garlicky, which I love, and not as salty as most white pizzas I’ve had in the past. The crust was crispy but not like, super crunchy, and even though I scrapped off all the ricotta I could, the little bit that was left didn’t threaten me at all. The garlic knots are addicting, and the sauce they serve with is is perfect! My ONLY complaint was that they completely forgot about the beignets. We had to go up to them twice and ask about them. The first time she forgot to put them in, and the second, she forgot to take them out. So she made us a new batch and gave us a five dollar bill refund(we paid with a card), insisting we deserved our money back when we tried to decline. Oh, and I would love to see a white pizza sans ricotta:). All in all, after living here for only a month, and with this being the first pizza place I tried, I’m on my way to becoming a regular. This is definitely a place that has great service and even better food!

I’m not a pizza person to start with but we always love thin crust pizza. This joint is very close to our place and we like supporting local businesses. Their pizza are a little bit over price and it is just okay.

Live 7 blocks north of their location and through whatever confusion pizza never arrived. First time we ordered pizza took close to two hours to be delivered — thought must be off night. Decided to try again and was contacted by delivery guy two hours later only to find out food was not in route .Had to take kids and feed them elsewhere at 9 pm Will avoid Jimmys and let everyone we know how this went down Wish there was an option for no stars

I previously reviewed this restaurant and I’m unsure if I deleted or… I previously noted that Jimmy’s pizza doesn’t always digest well. However, we used to find it yummy and order it anyways! The last time we ordered from them, our pizza was terrible, the bottom of the pizza had black char that was not tasty and we got it all over our hands. I call today and was told the pizza delivery would take an hour and a half. Apparently this is the usual delivery time(like I haven’t ordered before). We decided to order from Sarpinos, the cashier was friendly and personable, and we used a coupon that we got today! 45 minute wait.

UPDATE: Decided to try ordering a pizza, rather than slices this time. We called to order carry-out and they told us 20minutes. We show up and the pizza is ready. $ 20 for a large pepperoni, not bad! We take it home. I wasn’t expecting it to be amazing, since the last time we had slices they were just ok. But boy, was I wrong! This pizza is freaking amazing!!! The crust is sooooooo good. And I love the cheese & pepperoni they use. Seriously, try this place. Yum yum yum yum.

By far the best place in the city for pizza and my favorite spot! I’ve always ordered the white pie w/ricotta cheese and garlic NY style! I have no doubt in my mind you will LOVE their pizza! Their pizzas are MIGHTY tasty and worth it! They also have beignets to satisfy the sweet tooth! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! Your stomach will be ALLSMILES! :)))

I am not one to be pretentious about deep dish being the only pizza to get in Chicago, and this New York style hits the spot every time. Thin but chewy with plenty of sauce and cheese. Be aware that the smallest size pie is still pretty gigantic. Reheats well thought.

I live 4 min from this place and never did I thought to stop by to try a pizza slice. I regret it SO much. This is authentic NY style pizza. Like any pizza restaurant you’re going to find pepperoni & sausage pizza but Jimmy’s goes beyond so it provokes me to come back for more. They have a White pizza, delicious white sauce based pizza topped with ricotta cheese close to the crust.(By far my favorite) I’ve had also a beef meatball with cheese and basil. A chicken red onion, jalapeños with bacon glazed in buffalo sauce. Garlic and bacon honey beignets are really good. What I’ve had a couple of issues is with the staff, they forget to add all my items in the bag(since I always order to go) The place is small, it has a couple of tables but I mean since I live so close this issue had never bother me. Though I am aware there is parking in the back for those who drive to this location. So. Affordable, delicious & creative.

Best pizza I’ve had since moving away from Brooklyn! Simply delicious. Must try the garlic knots, too.

While I do enjoy a slice of deep dish from time to time, I’m a thin crust lover at heart, and especially enjoy New York style. But I always felt places around the city came up short. It was always too greasy, not flavorful, or just bad service. But Jimmy’s has rectified this wrong! Their pizza was perfect. It’s a little place on a corner near Lincoln Square, so it’d be easy to walk by or write off due to distance, but if you’re looking for a great New York style pizza that isn’t dripping with grease, has great flavor, and is served by friendly staff — you should b-line it here as fast as you can. I split a slice of: cheese(since it was fresh out of the oven), their signature white pizza, sausage, as well as an order of garlic knots and a small house salad, all topped off with an order of beignets. Might sound like a lot for 2 adults, but it was actually the perfect amount. Up front, everything was extremely tasty and I can’t wait to go back. The stand outs were: first, their sauce. Tasted homemade a little sweet, a little tangy, packed full of flavor, but extremely light. Second, the white pizza. I’ve never enjoyed white pizza, but Jimmy’s has made me a fan. So garlicky and good. Thirdly, the garlic knots were great. Moist, good level of garlic(though less than the white pizza) and not heavy. Lastly, the beignets. It was like a more manageable version of funnel cake. So good! This is now my spot for New York style. Totally worth the drive.

I just popped in here the other night as I was waiting for the Foster bus. What a great little find. I was so hungry and thought I’d give it a try. The place is a no frills, small pizza joint with a neon sign or 2 and basic dinette tables and chairs. Ok, no frills at all. But if you’re looking for a great NY slice that is cheap, hot and a bit crispy this is the place to go if you’re in the neighborhood.(IMHO this is NY style-on the thin side but with some puffy, crisp crust) I sat down and woofed my pepperoni slice down. Nice ratio of cheese, zesty sauce and pep. Service was friendly and prompt via paper plate:) They also deliver whole pizzas and have some nice variations from pep. and sausage. Cheers!

Jimmy’s is my new go to pizza spot. It’s your typical New York style thin slice pizza with a fluffy yet crispy crust. I’ve had the regular style pizza and the white sauce both are yum but the white sauce is a MUST try. You can pass on the beignets and the garlic rolls, neither are particularly memorable. There’s also some parking in the back which is a huge plus.

I asked my friend who grew up in New York where he wanted to get delivery. He asked if there was any New York pizza around. Thanks to Unilocal,we found Jimmys. Pizza came fast and was hot and delicious. We got pepperoni/sausage/extra cheese. I love the small pepperonis, the chunky sausage and the thin crust was delicious. Little tip: throw it in the oven at 400 the next night and it’s almost better. Good Job Jimmy’s! THIS is good New York pizza in Chicago.

The slices are a little expensive and greasy but they get the job done in true NY slice style. They have a reasonable selection of slices available when you go in, plenty of parking, and quick service. They run your slice through a warmer for you but it doesn’t seem to do much.

It’s been a few days and I am still thinking about this pizza. *Chicagoans, please don’t hurt me. I have a special place for Deep Dish in my heart(and my stomach), but something about this NY style, thin crust… was… AWESOME. It’s sort of a hole in the wall. $ 4 a slice. 12 kinds of San Pellegrino. Beignets(we didn’t have any, but they also looked awesome. HUGE). Garlic Knots. Caprese salad that came with this amazing dressing that was probably laced with… I don’t know… awesomeness? Credit card for purchases over $ 10 only. After we each got a slice of margherita pizza… and by got, I mean inhaled, we split a slice of the white pizza with garlic and ricotta cheese. Hold on, while I wipe the drool off my keyboard. I want this pizza again so much. $ 18 for 3 slices, and a salad(one piece was to go), and then we literally gave them $ 4 in change so that we could get another piece. I’m so glad we did. It’s small. Seats maybe 15. But so so so good. Totally hits the spot when you want a piece of pizza that’s as big as your head.

Recently saw their feature on Chicago’s Best and had to try the thin crust. The place is small with only a few tables, definitely heavy traffic for carry-out and delivery. In fact, there was a big group of pizza delivery guys waiting on standby for their orders. The line was steady and went up to the front door, but continuously moving. It looks like a family-run business. Hubby and I split an order of garlic knots(3 pieces/order) and each had a slice, sausage and pepperoni, respectively. The crust was thin and crispy. The slices were a decent size. Nice amount of cheese and not too greasy. They offer a variety of San Pellegrino sparkiling waters, in addition to the staple soft drinks that go well with the pizza. Glad to discover another decent thin crust joint near our neck of the woods!
