Jimmy’s Homemade Italian Beef & Pizzeria

As mentioned, this restaurant is under new manamement, and that new management (Nino) is spectacular! This is just what you are looking for in small neighborhood establishment, small but effective menu, but with truly the love of cooking behind it. First time in there (with the new management) spent a good deal of time talking with the owner, and from that can get an understanding that he is in this for the love of the business.
In terms of the food, I have to say this very well may be the best beef sandwich that I can remember. Al’s, Mr. Beef, other of my «favoritates», nope, they fall short of Jimmy’s. Good size sandwich, very fresh ingredients, and very reasonable prices. He had the next beef slow roasting in the oven right behind the counter, creating a fabulous smell and making me want to go back tomorrow! Can’t wait until next time to try some of the other items, like his vodka sauce over pasta, or the pizza, yumm!
The low rating in January, you have to ignore it. They were not really open for business yet. That is not what this place is about.
My only problem is that I cannot rate their beef 6 stars instead of 5!!!
Living in the NW side, Dunning area, I have found my new little neighbordhood joint!!!

Jimmy’s is under new management and definitely for the better. We ordered pizza last week and it was excellent! Really good crust, delicious sauce, fresh ingredients. They put meatballs on the pizza for us even though it wasn’t on their list of toppings. We are excited to have such good pizza right around the corner. This is definitely our new go-​to!

Went here for lunch at 12:00 and the they were still closed! Tried calling because I saw workers. they told me that their equipment was still cold mind you they have been open for one hour very unprofessional will never go back

Very good beef and fries are decent. Had only one person working but I guess when it’s late and kinda slow what do you expect.

I had the Italian beef sandwich, the Deluxe which includes fries, and it was excellent. The beef had a deeper steak flavor than some of the sweeter tasting italian beef sandwiches you often find. The bread was soft and fresh. The french fries seemed freshly cut with a darker hue than the standard processed light tan fare and were very tasty. The hot-​rod and nostalgia themed interior could use a fresher concept. I’ll go back for the beef and to also try the pizza.

You guys knocked it out of the park!!! I only had a beef and fries the other day, but you bullseyed the sweet spot in my heart with your Fresh Cut Fries!!! The Beef was awesome as expected! :-)
Looking forward to trying more goodies on your menu in the near future before I leave Chicago.

Came here on a sunday to quench a hangover grease desire and I must say I was expecting a lot more.
The guy taking the orders seem fairly new and extremely nervous taking my order lol I’m pretty sure I made him blush poor guy couldn’t really tell me what exactly they put on their philly cheese and I gave up trying and just ordered it as is.
The wait was a bit over 20 mins and nobody was there prior to me or after me. Once I got home and opened my box I was a almost excited cuz they fries looked awesome but much to my disappointment they were just not great at all, didn’t have much of anything flavor, salt, seasoning nothing just bland :/​and burnt. Anyone who knows me knows I love my fries!!!
The philly itself wasn’t too bad the meat was cut differently than what i’m used to but it was a bit flavorful the bread i think was a hybrid between a garlic bread and cheesy bread maybe? not sure… Overall it wasn’t the worse but it wasn’t the best. The price for everything was pretty reasonable for 9 bucks it also came with a drink.
But I don’t think I would go out of my way to try it.
