Harold’s Chicken

I believe this location does not understand the meaning of customer service. Besides the shabby appearance of the woman who claims to be the owner her level of professionalism was by far one of the worse I’ve seen.
I will no longer patronize this location. Instead of stooping to the level of ignorance I was shown today, I will simply just not spend my money there.

This is not authentic Harold’s chicken. I’m not sure if they lost the recipe, or if they ever had it, but the food here was awful.

I do not know what it is about the sauce on chicken but it is the truth! I absolutely loved the food! Small dining area and that was fine by me. The cooks and cashier made me feel like I was at a relative’s home! I am a fan!

Imagine your younger sister running her own Harolds. If you can get them to answer the phone, good luck. Some days they might be open. Do not rely on the door signs. The food is good most of the time. If you want food from this Harold’s have a back up option just in case.

I have loved Harold’s chicken for years! Every time I get back to my hometown I look forward to some. This was my first time at this location and the wait was terrible. There were only two customers in there before me so I have no idea why it would take 30 minutes to get 5 legs and fries. It was the special of the day! Unfortunately it was not worth the wait… the chicken had no seasoning and the mild sauce tasted bad, which is bizarre because I love Harold’s mild sauce. The only saving grace was that everything was served hot. I cant believe I’m saying this but I will actually think twice about getting Harold’s next time. Smh…

This is the best location as far as the quality and taste of their meals, HOWEVER the level of unprofessionalism is just ridiculous. The staff is in need of organizational skills training along with appropriate business practices, if your door states you open at 10-​am then its unacceptable to open at 1-​pm! Further-​more if I place an order via phone 10 – 20 minuets before arriving and you give my order to someone else by «mistake» then you owe me A. an apology and B. a comped meal for the inconvenience.
Customer service is KEY to a successful business, we are the reason you are open.

Great food however if you’re thinking about ordering ahead forget about it. They never answer their phone which is a huge problem!

I ordered at 7:05 and was told only 45 minutes. I waited until 8:00 to call again and was told my order is leaving out. It’s now 8:35 and still no food??? Harolds need to get there mess together!

I ordered here last night. (2) 5 wings one with mild sauce the other without. The one with mild sauce the chicken was not cooked long enough. And all the chicken tasted like GARLIC! I’ve never been to a Harold’s that had crinkle cut fries either.
And the place was as cold as the outside.

The wings and fries are the freshest you will ever get from a Harold’s. However I called in at 6:17 and they told me 15 mins. Then when I came in 20 mins later I didn’t leave out until 6:58 but it’s worth the wait. I walked out pissed but when I tore that smoky meat off the bone I was back happy

Im asian and I love asian foods, but this place is very good, looks clean and friendly, fast too. Bought a five pieces and took over to next door at taday nails and eat my chickens while get my spa-​day done. Loving life…

The chicken here is flavorful and it may take a while to get your order because it is always cooked fresh to order. However, a crash course in customer service is so necessary at this location. Also, I think they make their own hours daily because you never know when this place is going to be open.

You all really have to open up the half star or 0 stars because that’s what this place deserves.
By far one of the rudest experiences I’ve had at any Harold’s in all of Chicago. The sign says they close at 10, the voicemail says 11, and when you call the rude light skinned girl Crystal says they take their last order at 9:15. Which is what she told me the night after my next story as I was asking what were the business hours. She just completely cut me off.
The other night at 9:10 we were outside the door knocking trying to get in. We were calling as well and no one would answer. Crystal looks at us and looks away and continues to prepare food for the people waiting inside. After she gives them the food and walks them to the door she unlocks it lets them out and as my wife had her hand on the door she yanked it away from her and locked it as if we weren’t waiting there and continued to close up. All the while the sign on the door says 10pm.
Please take your money and business to 53^rd and Woodlawn if you are in the neighborhood.

I’ve been here three times in the last month. At first I wasn’t going to come back because it took so long to get my order. However; it was totally worth the wait. It was the freshest and most flavorful Harold’s I’ve ever had!!! It’s my new favorite!!!

all the chicken doesnt taste the same at every harolds. this one is pretty good! it was closed for some time & it opened back up so i was excited cuz its around the corner from my girls crib. chicken & mild sauce is my weakness! i could eat that for days! i also like their gizzards with mild sauce. pretty much anythin with mild sauce would make my day! this place doesnt have tables for u 2 sit down & eat your food so its more a to-​go place. but they do have a bar type table along the glass window so u can stand & eat your food if u wanted to.
