Harmony is a good stop for some good food. I’ve come here for breakfast a few times and I went to a wedding at Schuba’s that was catered by the kitchen staff and the food’s been alright. I really disagree with the restaurant’s(and other reviewers’) assertions that they have the«best Bloody in town.» They seem to be using a pre-made mix that isn’t even very spicy. I’m not sure why these would be considered«best» since you can just get the same thing at a dozen other restaurants nearby. The Bloody wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great enough to mention as a selling point of coming here. Breakfast is deece and tasty. The corned beef hash was yummo and they always bring a side of toast for your eggs, which is welcome by me. The wedding I attended had a Mac and Cheese bar that was good, but maybe it’s better to order an individual entrée to see what everyone else is raving about. Since it was served buffet style, it just tasted like mac and cheese that had been sitting over a sterno fire for a half hour. Not a bad place to grab a meal. Prices are right, full bar is available, and sometimes you can hear the music from next door. They have a quaint outdoor seating area and space for groups of six. Parking is pretty accessible during the day on Southport or Belmont but I imagine it’s next-to-impossible to find at night.

Stopped by today for a late lunch and had the quinoa black bean burger and Brussel sprouts. Both were absolutely fantastic! My server was attentive and kind as well! I would highly recommend this spot and will be back soon!

Good beer selection, good service. Be sure to get the tater tots — they are some of the best. Burgers, fish & tots, ruben, all pretty good.

Harmony Grill is under new management. Tasteless bland and no help from management. Avoid. Used to be a go to place for comfort food. Yuck-O. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Came here on a Sunday around noon, expecting it to be fairly busy. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too crowded, which makes the fact that we waited for 20 minutes to get WATER and a drink order in, crazy! We had to pull a guy over to do so. Waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks(not water, had to ask for that again) The food was super tasty(smoked salmon Benedict and breakfast combo plate) and the bloody Marys were awesome! I will be coming here again because it’s close by, the food is great, and the place itself is cool. BUT we need some better service, please!

We did not even get to experience this place because they cancelled our reservation on us. I set up an Open Table reservation for 4:30 and two hours before they called me and said they had to cancel our reservation, but could rebook us at anytime after six. I said no because we had a concert that night and why they had to cancel us. It was because they had a wedding reception dinner that was booked months in advance. So why have your tables available on Open Table if you know months in advance you will not be able to hold them? So I went back on Open Table and they STILL had spots available from 4 to 6, so they had not learned their lesson. Just by poor management, I will not attempt to come back.

Who is giving this place 4 stars? This is less of a review and more of an appeal to the new owners. Please get some local fresh food to cook with. Please make this restaurant worth visiting. I live a few feet away and am always hungry, but I gotta keep– walking! Ugh. Please make this a go to spot like Bite, next to Empty Bottle for instance.

I arrived a little after 2:30 on a Sunday and learned that they were still on the brunch menu. I had originally wanted a buffet brunch but had been locked out of a couple places because it was after 2:00. Now, I want a real-food menu and this was mostly eggs and some burgers and chicken sandwiches. Oh well, I chose a grilled chicken sammy with brie cheese.(The description tells you theres an apple something pecan spread on it yet doesn’t explain where the brie is.) And now for the sides… I chose potato salad as I don’t like to eat fried foods. Guess what? They were out. «How about a green salad?» Nope, too early. Well, I don’t want to pay for something I don’t get but now I’m really hungry so I opted to ask the server if they would discount me $ 1. He agreed and I got my sandwich fairly soon. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it was large. It did have a nice big slice of brie on top and I wasn’t sure what happened to the spread. The roll was crumbly as if it were several days old but I used a knife and fork to eat it and I was fine. They did discount me more than a dollar so this was not a bad experience. Yet, I don’t feel I ever need to return. It seems to be a nice neighborhood place but I’m not in the hood and now I’ve «been there, done that.»

We joined friends on a recent Sunday for a bluegrass brunch at Schuba’s. It was a good time: the music was pleasant but not overwhelming, the food was OK, and the service was attentive and cordial. I had migas; it was OK, though the texture was a bit gummy and the flavor not as multidimensional as I prefer. Others at the table had omelets of various configurations, and all seemed pleased. For dessert, beignets served with raspberry sauce were a hit. I am not a brunch person, but I liked the overall vibe, and I may go back for more…

Harmony Grill is great. I go there a lot. They are busy outdoors in the summer with patio seating but typically you can get a wait with a short wait, if any. They have really good pork Tacos and cobb salad for dinner. Their brunch is fantastic and of course you can’t miss that they have tater tots! Very comfortable and welcoming place. It is not too big, so you feel like it is a great Chicago local place. They are attached to Shuba’s bar so they have a drinks as well. They have well marked Gluten free options on their menu as well! This place is great! I would definitely recommend people go here.

Soup and a sandwich. That’s what I go here for, and I have not been disappointed. Yesterday it was a delicious beef, bean, vegetable soup, which was perfect. Add the Cuban sandwich and Cajun tater tots, and I am a happy diner. The bride had chicken and honey brie, with honey-apple pecan spread on a ciabatta bun — she loved it. Son had buffalo chicken sandwich — he inhaled it. We tend to go for a late lunch so the place is not crowded, service is excellent and we sit at the window and enjoy.

Although the macaroni and cheese at Harmony Grill might be ah-mazing according to M, now we both agree that it’s not a strong enough hook to justify going there. I mean, it’s not as if there’s anything that’s blatantly bad about Harmony Grill. They have okay service(nothing special) and a parking lot(teeny tiny). It’s clean enough. I guess it’s just that I’m not that big into macaroni and cheese. Furthermore, the food that we had during our last visit was gross. None of us liked it. M got tacos and I got brisket. M hated that the pork in the tacos was barbecue. She thought that it was so wrong to put barbecue anything in a taco. There were only a few slices of brisket on top of a large pile of black beans, corn, and other vegetables. I love vegetables but this mixture was really bad. Not only was it really bad but it also didn’t make sense to serve the brisket on top of them. The flavors didn’t mix well. Besides, the brisket wasn’t that good. At the end of our last visit we made the mutual decision not to return to Harmony Grill. I could have told you that a while ago. There’s a million other better places. Now M understands that there’s more to a restaurant than macaroni and cheese.

This place is half bar and half restaurant, both sides drastically different. Choose your side wisely. I can’t say I’d ever eat the vegan tofu chili again. The chili was literally beans and cubes of tofu. I’m sure this satisfies people, but I just thought it was boring and needed more flavor. The tots were tasty though.

Loved the name and the food lived up to the hype– especially the Mac and Cheese! The Harmony Grill is brought to us by the same people who own Schuba’s next door. We came to celebrate a friends birthday with some food and drink and then catch the band next door. While the interior is a little stark and lacks anything to buffer the noise(meaning it’s loud in there) the service staff is friendly and the food was pretty good. There were a couple of specials for the day so be sure to ask your server. On the night we were there it was a cheese curd appetizer and chicken entrée. We ordered a range of appetizers from pouting(quite good) to hummus and pita, and some fried artichokes. The menu has a wide range of offerings to satisfy anyone in your group. The steak salad was quite good, as was the chicken special and the steak and fries. But the real winner at the table was clearly the Mac and Cheese that you can customize with your favorite mix ins. The two who had it raved about it. And for dessert? Well since we were celebrating a birthday we needed something that would hold a candle and the chocolate brownie did not disappoint. We also had the apple cobbler and bread pudding-but the brownie was the clear winner! Dinner with plenty of drinks and dessert ran about $ 50. And if you drive– street parking is pretty easy in this area. And the best part of this place? Walk through the door in the back and you don’t even have to go outside to catch your show! Harmony Grill. A good choice is you are seeing a show at Shuba’s. .. Or even if you aren’t!

Schubas has been a long-time favorite music venue for me in Chicago, but this was my first visit to Harmony Grill. We stopped by for brunch, and I ordered the coconut pancake special and that was topped with a light and delicious pineapple glaze that made me want to head back to Hawaii immediately! If we weren’t driving down to Morris for some kayaking, we would definitely have taken advantage of the bloody marys, that looked fabulous! The patio was quiet considering its location on a busier corner, and I can’t wait to stop back for dinner one night!

Probably my fave mac and cheese EVER. The sauce is gooey and super cheesy. Like, you pull a piece of macaroni from the plate and a string of cheese follows. That’s what I’m talkin’ about! Rich buttery bread crumbs and herbs? The stuff dreams are made of. I’m also a big fan of the pulled pork sandwich. It’s got some delightful apple slaw on top that adds some sweetness and crunch. Pair it with the tater tots and it’s the best. Last time we were there my beau and I ordered a mac and cheese to split and our own pulled pork sandwiches. I would advise against this. Even if you’re super hungry(we were) and think you can do it all(you won’t.). Just get one of each and split it all. Perfect size. Love the patio out there. One of my favorite spots to grab a quiet dinner on a nice summer night when I’m in town. It’s never too crowded which makes it perfect for lounging and enjoying you meal. Pair it with a kick ass show at Schubas and you’ve got one hell of a date night!

I’ve been here a lot to fill my belly before dancing it off again to one good show after another at the attached music venue. I’m a fan Good food. Good atmosphere. Good service. Can’t be beat for an after work pre-concert dining spot. The menu has something for everyone so it’s easy to please the group of friends you’ve dragged with you to listen to your favorite $ 10 band that they’ve never heard of but you swear will be their new favorite. Most recently I came here alone to work my way through a $ 30 groupon. Considering this place is very reasonably priced and well-portioned, I was going to have to go through a lot of food. I ordered a beer to bring on the relaxed after work happy hourness and went to work. 1st course was the stuffed mushrooms. Dude. Totally solid. Loved the dipping sauce and the breading. Ate ALL of them. 2nd course was of course the mac n cheese because it rocks here. Ordered it plain. Ate ALL of it. 3rd course was dessert and I tried the apple bourbon cobbler sensation. Omg. Warm and full of awesomeness. Really, really tried to eat all of it, but I really would have needed to unbuttom my pants first and I didn’t quite feel comfortable enough to do so. Anyway, ate MOST of it. So stuffed. But so happy. Schubas, you rock.

You could say it took me awhile to come back, and it wasn’t for brunch, but lunch. Old Men’s lunch. On a weekday. I was happy to discover a handy parking lot just to the right of the restaurant. In a busy area like this, it’s a real convenience. Harmony’s menu is a creative one comparing it with other similar gastropubs,(though this one is separate from Schuba’s bar.) What drew us here was the mac and cheese, which is offered much like a pizza as an add-your-own option like spinach, or broccoli, or bacon or shrimp. We actually shared the app portion of the basic mac and cheese($ 6.75,) and we ordered the day’s lunch salad special-a mixed greens base with large shrimp, grilled artichoke hearts, red pepper, onions, and a lime/tarrragon dressing. Lightly dressed and nicely tossed, it was a generous and tasty salad. I like that they have original ones like this in addition to the ever present Cobb/Caesar/chopped chicken choices. Mac and cheese was superb. The dining room is intimate with a warm rustic yet classy feel. Fun and festive art on the walls, framed by beautiful crown molding, crazy seashell lighting and sconces, and copper top tables. Just very original, comfortable, inviting and unpretentious. Our service was fine and friendly. There was one server covering the entire room, and she was very organized and helpful. The outdoor patio is up and running now, too. The harmony here was palpable. Honest! Next time… brunch.

After only having stopped by the outdoor area for drinks, this winter I came here as a late night Friday-night dinner. Despite it being 9:30 we had to wait for a table. The staff wasn’t exactly the nicest when I tried to ask about a table. Despite this we got a table about 20 minutes later. The waitress was incredibly nice, but overall service was a bit slow. The ambiance was quiet and cozy even though a rock show was going on next door. I had a burger and tater tots. Not the most exciting dish but the burger was well cooked and extremely filling. My boyfriend had some dish with the most buttery grits available. Paying the bill took forever because the waitress disappeared. After a long digestion period, we finally got everything settled.

So since my last visit to Harmony Grill I’ve been back a few more times for breakfast and its just as good every time. I’ve tried the Migas which is an omelet/corn tortilla casserole type dish as well as the Eggs Benedict. Both were very good but I think the Pesto Sandwich is going to be my go-to from now on. My boyfriend has ordered the Mario omelet every time and loves it so much he doesn’t need to try anything else. Two big thumbs up for Harmony Grill’s breakfast/brunch!
