After making an appointment on their website I drove around this location for 40 minutes looking for parking at 11am on Thursday. Found none and then had to cancel. Later that day I tried to go back at 7pm, found parking after 15 minutes of driving around and then found that they closed an hour and fifteen minutes early. Today, the next day, I made my third and final attempt and found parking after 30 minutes. I was told then that they had zero openings until 4:15, it was noon. There was no one in the shop except employees sitting around. No customers getting haircuts and none waiting. I then looked at their appointments online and it had nothing but openings for the whole day and for the time that I was there. I will never waste my time here again.

I have gone here twice, once for a mens haircut and 3 weeks later for a trim. The front desk girl was nice and offered me a bottle of water. However when I walked into the salon the two other stylists made me feel like there were too extremely cool to work there and show any customer service. They sat on the guest chairs texting like angry 14 year old school girls and looked at me like I was an inconvenience. This is why I gave it low stars, but my stylist was great. The hair stylist I had Ashlynne was very cool and easy to talk to, she showed interest in making sure I felt welcomed and got the hair cut I wanted. She also recommended some new product for my hair which I really liked. She gets five stairs but her co workers toke away from the experience. As a multiple business owner my advice train your entire staff to show the customer appreciation for paying the price they charge for a haircut. Both times I have been there it was empty with three stylists sitting around and one greeter. Maybe if the girls acted like they wanted to be there the place would be busier. Thanks again Ashlynne!

I started going to Halo about 6 months ago after I decided that driving 45 minutes for a haircut was getting ridiculous. It took me 10 years to make this decision, I really liked my barber! I thought I was going to be one and done at Halo; pop in for one cut then go back to the barber. I was incorrect. I really didn’t know how good a hand massage could be. Paraffin? I work with my hands all day, so the massage is a welcome respite from the beating they take. Now, why doesn’t it feel that good to shampoo my own hair? I have wondered this for decades, since the first time I went downtown with my Dad and fell in love with Russian female hairdressers. The one thing I could never understand about my barber was the fact that no matter what style I asked for, every cut was virtually the same. My stylist Ashley, I hope that’s what she likes to be called, listens intently and I can ask her what she thinks. AND she tells me! Bottom line is this place is good to go, and I have no plans on going anywhere else for a long time to come.

I got a decent haircut here recently — but not one I’m really impressed by… and not one that lives up to the standards set by another Halo location. This location felt much more like a hole in the wall, staffed by younger, and less experienced, but nice employees. Honestly, if this were my only experience with the Halo brand, I’d probably not go back. It’s not that it was a bad experience — the stylist was nice, the haircut ok, etc., etc… but it wasn’t worth the extra $ 20 over going to a place like Frank’s, in the loop, or Alfredo’s Barbershop on the near-north side.
