DJ Shag was by far my most favorite vendor to work with. He was one of only two vendors that actually reached out to me proactively to ask if I needed any help from him as we were getting close to our wedding day. He is very prompt with his responses, even when I ended up having many last minute emails. Our hotel coordinator flaked on us the day of, so I was extremely stressed and losing my mind. DJ Shag really impressed me as he came up to me several times to confirm things and help me feel settled. He was the only vendor that actually reviewed my timeline with me, and even reminded me when I forgot something, which really helped. I could relax and not worry he would mess anything up, like I had to with other vendors. He was also very flexible with last minute music request change and finding an obscure walk in song for a member of my bridal party. He did a good job of listening to my guests’ requests and feeling the crowd out for what they liked to dance to. My guests commented often how much fun they had dancing. I just cannot believe the other negative review on here. He did an awesome job in my opinion and I would definitely recommend him.

You guys DJed our wedding at Navy Pier’s Crystal Gardens. It was absolutely amazing and far far far exceeded all expectation. We have had countless people rant and rave about your show you put on. I have recommended you guys to everyone that is looking for a DJ and would highly recommend you to anyone interested in a DJ. Thank you again so much.

Wow. Where do I begin? GMV DJed our wedding on Saturday(7÷28÷12) and did a PHENOMENAL job! Our guests were up dancing allll night long. They were spot on with every detail and went above and beyond our expectations. From the beginning of our ceremony all the way until the last song of the night, there was not one flaw and everything was perfect! You can tell by the energy they put out that they truly have a passion for music and making people feel the moment. They have a sixth sense about reading the crowd and knowing exactly what to do next. I can’t say enough great things about them. All night we had people commenting on how great of a job they did. MANYTHANKS guys! I highly highly recommend them!

I cared most about my wedding’s music and booze. While Chirag(DJ Shaggy of Global Music Vibes) was easy to work with beforehand, he messed up a couple of very important things: 1) Called up my husband’s parents to speak when they weren’t planning on giving a speech. He used an old timeline though my planner had given him day-of updates. Weddings change last minute; a good DJ rolls with the punches. I spoke to my planner afterwards about providing freshly printed timelines on the day of. but the damage was already done. My husband’s parents are still embarrassed by this. 2) Didn’t play most of the music I had requested and subbed in his own music. My reception was cut short because our priest ran REALLY over(this happens sometimes at Hindu weddings like mine). With 90 minutes or so left to play, DJ Shaggy apparently took requests for music instead of going off of the playlist we had discussed. I can understand a few substitutions, but most of the songs he played during those 90 minutes were not what I had asked for. I have so many pictures of people standing around on my dance floor — that’s not what I wanted from my wedding day! 3) This was the worst thing, though #2 was bad enough. My husband asked the DJ to announce him for his speech. What my husband didn’t know was that our videographers weren’t present as they were eating dinner. DJ Shaggy knew that the videographers were eating as he has just seen them entering the kitchen as he exited. The videographers later told us that the DJ apologized to them for letting my husband give his speech when they weren’t there. His words to them were something akin to, «I saw you guys eating and it just totally slipped my mind [that you wouldn’t be taping].» His response to me later, during emails, on the topic: «From my experience, It is not my job to check with your videographer to make sure he is ready to do his job. I was not in the back eating while he was. I am going to stop going back and fourth with you and consider this a loss.» It is not your job to coordinate with other vendors on a wedding day? Unfortunately for us, you just can’t get those moments back.
