Ghita For Hair

I LOVE Ghita!
I met Ghita back in 2007 at Sak’s Fifth Avenue and I have followed her ever since and now that she has her private studio, I like it even more. It’s a relaxing setting, you don’t have all that noise you have to deal with at a busy salon. You can schedule appointments via text, which is so convinient and she is very accomodating around a busy schedule. She takes evening appointments which is perfect for someone with my schedule.
As for technique, there is none I can compare with. I am fairly picky when it comes to hair, as she can attest too, and I have honestly not allowed a single person to touch me hair since 2007. After we had first met, I was in a crunch to get my hair done, and I tried someone else, and I called begging her to fix it before my trip home to Michigan, which she did. Learned my lesson right then and there. She’s also applied color multiple times, and I have love it every time!
Strongly recommend anyone to go in and see her, you won’t go anywhere else again!

Ghita Jones did my hair for my wedding, and she did an AMAZING job! Wow! Not to toot my own horn, but I looked GOOD. :)
From start to finish, Ghita was awesome to work with. I had two trials because I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted, and each time she really listened to what I wanted, studied pictures of my dress, and offered great suggestions. Both times my hair turned out awesome, and different from anything I’d seen before (in a very good way). Plus, she went out of her way to accommodate my schedule. For instance, I wanted to use clip-​in extensions but the place she suggested was far from my condo, so she offered to pick them up for me! So awesome!
Come wedding day, she arrived on time (5 min early, actually), and got right to work. Besides me she also did my Mom and three of my bridesmaids. Everyone looked stunning. Not a cheesy wedding updo in the bunch! She is truly an artist (truly, she went to design school and it shows :) And my hair… again, WOW! It was even better than the trial. It was polished, sophisticated, gorgeous… I got so many compliments and felt absolutely beautiful. Plus, it held up through wind, dancing, and partying until 4 in the morning and still looked great!
I was a tad hesitant in booking Ghita (until I had my trials and saw for myself how awesome she is) because of the lack of Unilocal reviews. DON’T let that scare you off! She is absolutely the best and I would highly recommend her to any bride who wants to look her most fabulous on her wedding day!

Ghita is the most fabulous hair professional I’ve ever had — and I’ve had some great ones. I’ve also had some scary ones… which is what makes Ghita even more of a find. She works out of an apartment building, but it is clean and fully outfitted with a salon dryer, vanity, hair washing sink, etc. Here are my top 4 reasons why I won’t ever go to anyone else in Chicago.
1 — She listens to what you want, and works with you to figure out what will be best. We’ve all had those professionals who either have no opinion, or don’t care about yours. Ghita is wonderfully balanced in this area.
2 — She doesn’t get offended if you have a question about something. For example, I thought my bangs were a little long (I didn’t want to have to come trim them every couple weeks), and she slowly trimmed them until they were as short as I could stand it.
3 — She is spectacularly affordable. Her prices vary depending on what you want, but it’s always appropriate. Things that other salons routinely charged me $ 75-​$ 85 for, she charges $ 40.
4 — She doesn’t mind if you bring a bottle of wine. It might be worth asking on your first visit just to be sure you don’t look like a total boozer, but I’ve definitely enjoyed a couple glasses while a friend waited for me (also indulging).
I’ve had color, trims, and full-​on haircuts (over 10-​inches) from her. I have some male friends who have gotten highlights/​cuts from her as well. Everyone loves what they come home with.
One thing — I believe she is cash only. On the website there is a PayPal option, but if you plan to pay at the place of business I think you have to have cash.
