Renters, buyers, beware of this place. Firstly, their construction standards are terrible. I lived in a «luxury» apartment they build and, about every month, the City of Chicago stopped by to deliver more building code violations. As a renter, I didn’t care, but if I was an owner, I’d be in trouble.
As a landlord, they’re incompetent and unethical. They are very non-​responsive to requests to have things repaired. Fine for a dilapidated building, but not for an expensive rental. Now, they are trying, without any basis, to take my security deposit, claiming that I paid it to the prior owner (who was their business partner and which is in strict violation of Illinois law).
Stay away from these guys. Don’t be enticed by the seemingly nice properties.
Update: I threatened to take them to small claims court where they’d have to pay my deposit plus damages, and they conceded and paid the deposit. Don’t let them get away with this!
