Ended up in this super cool cave like bar toward the end of our party night. Wish we would have been in sooner! Bomb Dj who kept everyone dancing, amazing bartenders who kept everyone with a drink in hand & all had great attitudes. Obviously it’s a club with a tin of people, but it had a homey feel that made everyone feel welcome! Had brought some friends to visit from CA& they loved it…

Honestly screw this place. In the ten minutes I was outside this establishment, I witnessed the following: — Would not allow my male friend in for wearing sandals due to sandals being a «liability» — yet I myself was wearing sandals and they were going to let me in fine. A girl that entered approx. 30 seconds after us was wearing legit flip flops. I don’t care if a bar wants to enforce a dress code, but don’t pretend sandals are somehow a «liability» on dudes, but girls wearing the same thing aren’t. — They made another dude turn his hat around before entering. I’d really like to see what they would do if he turned it back around once he got in. — Wouldn’t let another guy in entirely and from what it sounded like, it was because he had a state ID on him but not a license. They weren’t taking his ID like it was a fake or anything, but simply said a state ID wasn’t good enough? Dude was black, and I feel like that was part of it :( — At some point some DePaul frat boy looking kid walks out wearing ratty sneakers and a graphic tee? I really don’t understand their dress code here. Bottom line — not that fun a bar in Lincoln Park(I’ve been there before; it was meh and kind of expensive for what it is) trying to masquerade as a high end club. Get over yourself, Drop.

Arthur has been specializing in creating amazing parties since he was a student at the University of Miami. I am not surprised by his success at running the hottest, underground bar in Chicago. The man found his calling!

Went to drop last night, was able to Make reservations. We had 10pm reservation but was running a little late and called to notify them & were very nice about about it and accommodating. We got there and had a nice place reserved for us and had a couple of glasses of beer and wine. Our servers name was brittany and i must say she was exceptionally friendly and had a great fun personality… We watched a private Party going on & the music(DJ) was playing top dance and it started to get a little more busy. We also felt a little old but all in all if you are from 20′-30′ you will have a fun time here. The door man who ID’s is also very nice as well. excellent staff, good place to dance!

This was a cool place and everything, but the vibe brought me down. I went here with a friend around 12, things only started to pick up close to 1. It’s a 4AM bar so that made sense. It’s much better for groups though. It’s harder to go there with only one or two people. The music was good too, but we were kind of hoping to meet people and didn’t get lucky with that. Probably won’t go here again.

FUNFUNFUNFUNFUN! Drop is basically what I imagine a bat cave club would look like. I came by here on Saturday night to let loose. DJs music selection is awesome. Mostly hip hop, current jams, and some throwbacks here n there. Dance floor space is limited and the ceilings are low. Not much seating, so if you want a seat you’ll need to reserve ahead of the time for a table. Drink prices are quite nice. $ 6 beer taps, $ 8/$ 9 mixed drinks, & their cocktails starting at $ 11. Not too shabby. I had a pretty good time dancing and the crowd is pretty friendly. However, there was a pretty drunk fella in a cubbies hat that kept bumping into me. I kinda just brushed it off at first, but once he ran into my girl and bumped her hard into the bar top I told the bartender and security quickly escorted the guy out. Thanks for taking action immediately, Mr. Bartender! Night was much more enjoyable not having to worry about that guy bumping into me or any of my friends. Anyways, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to bust a move. ‘Til next time, cheers!

I’ve heard of fellow friends’ fun times at Drop for quite some time and finally agreed to stay up(way) past my bedtime to go this last weekend. First things first, the entrance. As others have noted, this is underground. However, it shares an entrance with Brick’s pizza. Almost an eerie, dark entrance — a tad inconspicuous considering the Lincoln Park location. Truth be told, this kind of reminds me of a darker and larger Suite Lounge(Old Town), with its DJ area and well, the fact that it’s underground. We got there just shy of 11 and grabbed a couple of stools. The tables had signs that said«please order from waitress» — except we couldn’t before we got kicked out for taking up tables meant for bottle service. Meh, happens. Anyhow, we found a random stool near the bouncer and dumped our jackets there. It was a 40 degree night and not quite cold enough for there to be a coat check. There were a handful of beers on tap, and a decent variety of non-draft beers. Beers ran on average $ 6. They also had cocktails for about $ 10/11, but I passed and just went for my whiskey with a splash of coke each time(approximately $ 9). We also had a round of shots for $ 10 each, a little pricey but not terribly crazy pricey. For a crowded bar, service was quick — the owner and other bartenders definitely knew how to tell who was just hanging by the bar vs. who actually needed a drink. Additionally, the bar back was kind enough to grab me waters in between drinks. The music: lots of 90’s throwbacks, which we 26⁄27 year olds loved. The crowd: random. At times, filled with a couple of recent college grads that were overly drunk and couldn’t control their booze. At one point, some 6 foot tall guy kept ramming into everything in sight — he was WAY too drunk and had no idea. Shoved me twice, and shoved my other girlfriend twice. The bouncer saw it all happened and promptly and professionally escorted the unlucky(and extremely drunk) soul out. All in all, a good night. Will definitely be back.

The folks treated my friends and I with so much respect and kindness. Arthur was great and walked a friend and I around when we wanted to make a reservation, explained the specials, and sent me an online confirmation of the deal. Definitely will be back. This place was perfect for the group and the bachlorette is still talking about it. Thanks again!

This place is awesome. I had talked to Arthur(the owner) about a few of us coming there Saturday night and he was more than willing to help us out and made sure everything ran smoothly and everyone got in. Complimentary coat check! And the music is awesome! The DJ actually listens to your suggestions and will play the songs you request. It’s a little small, but it wasn’t that crowded so it didn’t feel claustrophobic at all. The ceilings are also kinda short, lol I had a lot of tall guy friends that complained about that. Regardless of anything, all of us had a great time. We will definitely be coming back!

If it’s 4 am you can no longer see straight and want to know what it’s like be in a cave this is gonna be your jam. Both times I was here I could Harley even function as a human any more. I could t tell you what the cost of things are or if it even has a bathroom BUT… You can jump three inches off the ground and pretty much knock yourself out on the ceiling. I’m 5 feet and that’s impressive. This place is the epitome of where bad choices are made. But I love it

THROWNOUTFOR A KISS??? Yes, we were kissing and the self-proclaimed owner of Drop approached our table in a infuriated state and claimed«This room is not for kissing, if you want to do that, get a room or go home” – and proceeded to threaten(REPEATEDLY) my party of three(two women and myself) by stating«I WILLTHROWYOUOUTOFMYCLUBIF I CATCHYOUGUYSKISSINGAGAIN». Were we drunk? No, we had just come from a dinner party and had just ordered our first martinis. We are successful, poised professionals. We were perfectly mannered, well, we thought we were, until this strange moment. When my friend politely asked«So you are the owner of this club?», KEVINTHENEANDERTHAL replied«no». Okay, so that just made us as confused as you the reader may be. When she further inquired about the ANTI-KISSING policy, he basically stated, and I am totally paraphrasing now, «WEDON’T LIKEYOURKINDAPEOPLEINTHESEPARTS». Were we in a Catholic pre-school or sort of scuzzy-but-only-place-that is-open-now bar? My friends were upset, I was just baffled by THEGUYNAMEDKEVIN. Eventually, and it seemed like days, he walked away. Oh, not before explaining to us that(and I seriously don’t know why but maybe he likes watching people kiss) HEWASWATCHINGUSKISSONHISPHONE, which is apparently connected to the security cameras(which we imagine were set up by a technician asking«AREYOUSERIOUSABOUTAIMINGTHECAMERASTOCATCHPEOPLEKISSING?). After calming my friends down from being TREATEDSORUDELY, I approached KEVIN and introduced myself, and explained to him that I am entirely sensitive to security concerns BUTISKISSINGDANGEROUS? Apparently, DROP, or the DEEP-THINKING, HOMOPHOBICKEVIN thinks so, because he kindly reiterated DROP“S PROHIBITIONAGAINSTKISSING. Interestingly, this did not apply to the couple across the room, so we’ll have to research this DISCRIMINATORYPOLICY a bit more(OOPS! I JUSTREMEMBERED I’M A LAWYER!!). So at this point, what had been a amazing evening out had taken a most unpleasant turn and had(no pun intended) left a bad taste in our mouths. We decided to leave – and were stopped outside by two couples who COULDNOTBELIEVE what had transpired. The general consensus was that DROP, by it’s employee’s action, was exercising a discriminatory policy against sexy, happy people. So weird. SORRYKEVIN, IFYOUWANTTOWATCHPEOPLEKISSING, YOU’LLHAVETOGETCABLEBECAUSEWEWON’T BEBACK… until we receive notice that you have left to pursue a career at HOOTERS.(why they would hire you is beyond us, but apparently you are good at detecting the affectionate kisses of lovers). I guess we’ll just limit ourselves to the SIXTHOUSANDEIGHTYTWO locations in Chicago with liquor licenses that allow kissing.

Stumbled upon this great spot on our way to dinner and decided to check it out afterwards and it was definitely one of the best experiences we had in Chicago. Absolutely loved the ambience and décor. The bartender was phenomenal and the cocktails we had were out of this world! The London Fashions and Winter Mules were absolutely amazing but be warned, they are the strongest drinks on their menu so proceed with caution. We went on a Thursday night which also happens to be karaōke night and they offer $ 1 whiskey shots. It’s a match made in heaven. Karaōke DJ plays an some eclectic mix between songs and will also karaōke if you ask him nicely(which is actually pretty awesome because his voice is phenomenal) Visiting this place was definitely one of highlights of our trip and that says a lot coming from two Miami, FL natives that are used to partying until the break of dawn. We’ll definitely be visiting again next time we’re in Chicago.

I was introduced to the drop by some«friends»(and I use the term loosely, I met them that night) I met in Wrigleyville. They decided to head to Lincoln Park and told me this place was super cool. I guess it used to be called Catacombs way back in the day. And I know why! You go underground and it actually LOOKS like you’re walking through catacombs. Then there is a fork in the road, if you will. If you go left, there is a tiny side room with a one-man bar and a couple seats. You can probably fit up to 10 people in that small side. Now if you go right, then you walk past the coat check(extra points for having a coat check, by the way) and into the main room. And THIS is where all the fun happens. Now, this is a 4am/5am bar, so I will say it’s usually best saved for last. But they always have great music. Their DJ’s have a gift for making something like a «mash-up» of songs and making their transition happen not from similar beats, but from similar words in a song. Example: Britney Spears — «Crazy» can transition into a song from a completely different genre with a way different beat, but that has some of the same words, so the transition works cleverly.(Now they really didn’t play that song, but I have heard a Britney song or two here before). The cool part is, since they are always switching DJ’s, you really never know what you’ll hear, and I think that’s cool. It keeps things from ever getting boring! You can hear anything and everything here and it’s alright. And there is always lots of dancing! Now the drinks are reasonably priced as well. And the wait for those is actually pretty fast. The only negatives that I can think of are that it IS kind of small, so there have been nights where they have been at capacity and didn’t let some of my friends in. Also, the«security» they have in the main room can be kind of whack sometimes. I’ve seen people get kicked out for whistling(not at anyone, just in general) and picking up a girl a few inches from the ground while dancing. I don’t know if those things are exactly reasons to kick someone out… but I digress. I always have a good time here, and have never paid a cover here either. Drinks are inexpensive and it’s close to home. I am kind of a regular here now, and I like it!

Came here on a Monday night, so it was pretty dead. However, it was open mic comedy night and there was no cover so we decided to check it out. Worst«comedians» ever, if you can ever call it that. The handful of comedians were all making their debut appearance, and it was ever so apparent. Their stand-up was so poor that they resorted to racist and homophobic jabs. Not amused. Their lounge space in the corner is pretty nice, with decent amount, variety, and size of furniture. Perhaps on a non open mic night and given the right DJ and crowd, they would have a better vibe. «Best night» is definitely not Monday.

My friends and I visited Drop as it came highly recommended from a friend’s friend. Word on the street is that the place becomes a club after a specific late night hour. It’s an underground lounge/club, similar to Three Dots and a Dash, but no tiki bar theme. We happened upon Drop at 10 p.m. on a Friday night, and it was patron-less. We received the bartender and waitstaff’s full attention. The DJ mixed up Top 40 songs, including Estelle’s American Boy. I’m convinced that rendition of the song is better than the original. Each corner of the lounge has a corner sofa and smaller cushy furniture. Our group of 8 took one corner, and watched an NBA game on one of the flat screens and two girls dancing with blue and red lightsticks. In other words, the place was dead until 11:30 p.m. when we left. But, if you want your friends to meet your significant other at a lounge in Lincoln Park, this is it! FYI: No street parking near Drop. Park on Clark Street. Or use the valet service from the restaurant two doors down($ 10).

My friends and I had a reserved corner here for a birthday party. We got bottle service. Our bottle girl was super slow. We would request something and she would get to us like 30 – 40 min later… She also started by bringing the first bottle and then pouring everyone’s drinks 1 by 1. It was pretty awkward since we all just sat there watching her pour everything into 7 glasses on the tiniest table ever. She said she was going to do that for the rest of the night but she stopped after the first time. Anyway, we got Grey Goose and a bottle of Rum. The bottle girl tried to rip us off by $ 50 but luckily my friend noticed the price she quoted differed from Drop’s website. She later claimed they haven’t updated the price on the website yet. We went there from maybe 10pm until 2am. It probably started getting crowded around midnight… it was a very diverse, interesting crowd. The music started off EDM and then turned into a mix of EDM and popular hits. Again, interesting. The place looked like an underground cave and was pretty small. Only ¼ of the area had people dancing. Overall, it was ok. Like I said, service could have been much better for the high cost of bottle service.

If I lived in Chicago, I would be a regular here. $ 5 cover!!! If that isn’t enough: –cool coat check girls who will let you grab your jacket if you smoke –cheap coat check –reasonably priced drinks that are not watered down –cheap delicious daily special drinks –amazing music –hella nice DJs –crowd is super chill and friendly. everyone dances in their own style and just lets loose without worrying about ‘appearances’ –casual dress code –funny and nice bouncer –not too crowded so the dance floor isn’t insane –bob the bartender was beyond cool –you can sit in a booth even if you don’t have bottle service –open till 5am –close to bus stop –vibe is like you’re in the coolest cave ever DOIT.
