Easily one of the best food trucks in Chicago. You can tell that all of the veggies are fresh and the sauces are made in house. If you need a recommendation, definitely go with the döner box.

Was excited to try at the Fooda at my work today– until I saw the skinny tattooed guy eating food off his fingers while working the counter… mmmm lax cleanliness standards… I’m no priss, but if he’s doing that in front of ten people waiting, what are they doing during the food prep?

Respect to any person who runs a food truck – I’m sure it’s not an easy gig and requires a lot of love for the craft. That said, I thought the doner wrap I got would’ve been excellent if the meat were hot and the pickles weren’t in it, as I had requested(wasn’t even another customer waiting on food). That said, I enjoyed the wrap and thought it was very good despite my perceived issues with it.

Both the entrees we tried were great. The Doner Box was clearly the best, with killer goat tzatziki(seriously, new favorite sauce? check). The Currywurst was a more one-dimensional dish that also seemed a little less filling, but still quite good. The poutine didn’t do it for me — the gravy didn’t have very much flavor, nor did the cheese curds. Overall, definitely worth taking a look if you see the truck on your lunch break.

Went to their food truck at the Christkindlmarket in the loop. The menu says any item can be made vegetarian which was a nice surprise. I had a veggie wrap which tasted fresh, spicy and delicious.

FANTASTIC! The food trucks were out in full force today in Daley Plaza. I have a serious weakness for food trucks, so instead of getting any of my errands done during lunch, i decided to give myself a treat. From Doner Men I tried the Doner Box, it was so delicious, fresh and full of flavor. It consisted of chicken on top of a small salad, on top of fries and finished with a delicious cucumber yogurt tzatziki. I can’t wait to try something else.

The doner box from Doner Men may be a nearly perfect food item. It has just the right amount of everything: creamy yogurt, spicy harissa, fresh vegetables, grilled chicken, fried potatoes. Seriously, everything you could possibly want in a lunch from creamy to fried to meaty to healthy to spicy to sour to starchy… it’s all right there, in this lovely little box. Nothing dominates; nothing overwhelms; everything is right there. A nearly perfect lunch.

As others mentioned, I wouldn’t necessarily say this truck is synonymous or exemplary of straight German or Turkish food, but it was still tasty nonetheless, and I understood what they were going for. I stopped by Friday around 11:30 at Daley Plaza and got the Döner Box. I only waited a few minutes for this and the guys there were friendly. I enjoyed this very much, as all flavors and ingredients worked well together. The toppings were noticeably fresh. I also tried some of the curry fries and this was yummy. It had a great kick to it. Prices were appropriate. The box was $ 10 and it was a satisfying meal. The only other time I’ve had döner was in London, and this wasn’t quite that, but I still quite enjoyed the Döner Men truck!

YES!!! This is by far the best food truck in Chicago. The salad is amazing and I have dreams about their curry fries. My husband and I are addicted!

Interesting concept of basically put a doner in a box on a bed of fries and salad. Reminds of taco in a box. The fries were really crispy but missing salt. The tomatoes were nice, but I wish there was a sprinkling of olives. The salad just kind of got in the way. The chicken was pretty good but I found a tad too many chewy fat vien pieces.

I am from Berlin Germany and have been looking for a similar food experience to the Döner and the Curry Wurst for a while after I moved to Chicago. It is sad to say that what these guys offer is by no stretch even close to the German/Berlin original. While I understand that there is room for international interpretation of the food + americanization of certain foods, you shouldn’t advertise to sell«iconic German street food and cuisine» especially the famous Curry Wurst that tasted nothing like the original. Overall both the Döner and the Curry Wurst lacked the bold flavor and texture you will experience from the Original, while the Doner was bland and flavorless. Back I am to the never ending search to find food close or similar to the taste of Berlin Germany as Dönermen did not deliver. Find a recipe online and make it yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Seriously love the food here! I think the Döner Box is still my favorite, but I really like the Currywurst too(it’s even better with a side of tzatziki). The service is always quick and friendly, even when they’re slammed! I visited them at Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza and they had amazing hot apple cider, too.

Yes working near the Sears(Willis) Tower is great because you can get some food truck traffic around here during lunchtime. The colorfully decorated DönerMen truck serves its take on German street food. I tried a Döner Box, loaded with all sorts of ingredients. In fact this böx öf fööd is a microcosm of my «balanced» diet in general, a pile of both«good and healthy» and«good but not that good for you» ingredients. There is the salad portion with lettuce, onion, tomato and cucumber and a generous portion of shredded roasted chicken, and somewhere in the box is a heap of fries, plus tzatziki yogurt sauce. It is a good and filling lunch box for sure. I think next time I will want to try the currywurst, which really is German street food to me.

The décor of the truck caught my eye so I decided to grab this for a quick meal outside my work building. Nice down to earth dudes with super quick service. I got the Döner box just because it seemed like it was a good combination of everything they had to offer. I am still not really sure what I ate, but it was pretty good. The truck seems to be fusion-y with German and Mediterranean like foods. The Döner box had flavorful chicken kebob, fresh crisp lettuce, tomatoes, onions, delicious crispy fries, and homemade white and red sauce. All on point and blends perfectly together. Also, they lay the food in the box in a picture perfect manner(important for us asian food pic takers) The portions and price are typical of what you would expect from a Chicago food truck. It’s about half the portion for the same price as Benjyehuda(reminds me of a box from there but cleaner and with less mushy vegetables). The Döner box portion is actually a perfect size since Benjye bowls can be split into two meals. If they were the same price I would choose Donermen over that any day.

Döner Men should apply for superhero status– they always show up when you need them in the most unexpected places. The döner is fantastic, perfect drunk food. Curry fries are also amazing. The only thing that is different from an authentic late-night German Dönerladen was the fresh vegetables. They are usually sad, slimy wilted iceberg snots– Döner Men served an awesome variation and must have a tomato garden in the truck. Last, they have Club Mate. At six bucks a bottle they are the only importer in the Midwest– and thank god for that. I bought all they had in the truck and would go back for more.

Amazing food. Kebab, doner box, curry fries, all of it is excellent… and addictive. I try to track them down for lunch at least once a week. I’ve never had food from a truck that is this memorable. And it’s worth noting that the men in Doner Men are really cool, down to earth, and get the food out fast. Don’t be swayed if the line is long… you’ll have a delicious meal in no time. You can thank me later.

At first, this truck came late and opened late, but they seemed to have normalized their operations down to a T. These guys are cool — no BS, tattoo bearing, down to earth and down to business cool. And now they are good with two items I frequent: Döner kebab Döner box Their version of the kebabs are a bit more planty than I usually go for, but its still a good kebab nonetheless — veggies like cherry tomatoes, Romaine lettuce, beets, with some chicken and tzatziki sauce. All excellent, crunchy and full of taste. I initially went for the kebab but fell in love with the Döner Box, aka the Box. It does away of the wrap and gives you a bed of fries on the bottom. Yum! Had the Box since. These guys have some soft drinks of which I never heard but are delicious: Dang! Butterscotch Root Beer and Cheerwine. Horrible for my diabetes, but hey, I’ll choose a slightly shorter life span for an enjoyable life and tastes than a dull long life. DönerMen food truck stops nearby 600 West Chicago Avenue, in the car park across the street on Larrabee Avenue from the so called Groupon building. Cash or cards can do. They serve 600 West and area at least once a week, occasionally more. Mind the d20.

Doner Men came to visit me in the Willis today, and decided to try the Vegetarian Currywurst. The sauce was a little salty, but still delicious. My plate was clean in a matter of minutes. I’m already looking forward to trying the doner kebab. As a word to the wise, their potato salad is served cold. For whatever reason, the guy in front of me thought it ought to be served hot. When has ANYONE ever had hot potato salad? Anyway, without giving any attitude, the cashier immediately apologized and refunded the man. Overall the staff was great, and I really hope Doner Men comes to visit me again. I’ll keep an eye out for the food truck too!

The best lunch truck in Chicago! I’ve eaten at several trucks over the years, but this place takes the idea of fusion food to a new level. The curry fries are amazing, fresh and very unique. The wrap was very flavorful and full of different tastes and textures. The artwork on the truck is creative and original. Kudos for a excellent truck.

I was at the Christkindlmarket and stumbled upon Donerman’s stall. I’ve never heard of them before but it smelled great and looked family owned. I waited in line for about 15−20min. The line wasn’t long but they were slow to serve(1 cashier and 1 chef). I ordered the Currywurst and I was so amazed at how delicious it was. I’ve never had Currywurst before so I may not be the best judge but the wurst and curry sauce tasted like something I’ve never tried before! The curry was sweet but not in a bad way. I was iffy about the wurst since I don’t like lamb but it was actually really delicious! Glad I stopped by.
