I just paid $ 6.78 for oatmeal. OATMEAL! Are you kidding me? Because I added approximately two whole strawberries to it, my oatmeal went from $ 1.99 to $ 6.78. You should really figure that one out.

I just left your place with my breakfast. I ordered two orders – 2 eggs over hard with bacon and then pancakes with bacon and two eggs over easy with rye toast. While I was there waiting it wasn’t the greatest experience. The kitchen was not organized at all and it was painful to watch. My over hard eggs and bacon were done first. Then it took forever to get the rest of my food. They kitchen staff kept asking each other what was in what container. They didn’t seem to know what was going on for any order. It took forever for me to get my food. I finally got all my food and had to ask several times for different parts of my orders just to make sure I got it all. I complained to the cashier on my way out. I was going to leave it at that but then I got back to my office and saw more things were messed up. The pancakes were burnt on one side because they sat too long on the grill. My over hard eggs were not over hard at all. I got all over easy eggs. My co-worker couldn’t even have breakfast because the eggs weren’t cooked right. Neither of us have the time to come back and get it fixed or even go somewhere else to get her breakfast. The eggs that were supposed to be over easy were cold because they were done so quickly and were waiting on the burnt pancakes. My rye toast is pretty much warm bread. It was not toasted at all. The quality that is being put out by your kitchen is not good. I am not sure why you even have a ticket system because clearly the ticket I had to the guy when he hands me my food is compared to nothing since the wrong food is being handed out. There are many many breakfast options in the loop. However, you are a little unique because you aren’t as busy as the chase building and you should be able to get it and out quick and you all are cheaper that most of the places around here. However, if this is the service provided, I have no interest is coming back. I want nothing from you. You just need to know the kitchen is chaotic and stressful to order from and it won’t be somewhere I go to for breakfast or lunch for a while.

I simply don’t get why this place is consistently busy and people seem happy to pluck down $ 6.99 a pound or $ 10 to $ 15 for a plastic takeaway container of low quality fare from a steam style buffet listing salt as a main ingredient. Having mistakenly made an uninspiring $ 15 salad of greens and colorful, albeit, not very tasty raw vegetables, I thought there had to be a better way to have a Delmonico’s meal. This time I tried a smörgåsbord of items from the suspect buffet. The macaroni and cheese was ice cold and salty. The roasted cauliflower pan offered a ¼th inch layer of olive oil grease with visibly sprinkled salt, but tasty. The chicken wing was bone dry and salty. The«grilled chicken» pieces were cold, rubbery and bound with salt. The baked crab was imitation cooked crab that is so happily married to the salt shaker and isn’t getting a divorce anytime soon. The green beans were chewy, salty, but edible. Same for the cooked broccoli, carrots & squash mix. None of the items comprising my $ 13.62 of steam-table fare was the least bit piping hot — hey, warm would have been welcome. Since there was nothing particularly healthy, and goodness never saw 111 W. Washington, my opinion is more don’t bother than give them a shot. For all the salt, all the lack of good flavor, with an overall vibe of desperately needing a dining area update, with an overly consuming and unattractive sea of unappetizing food for sale, I’d rather decline and go elsewhere.

I remember this buffet-style used to be so much better when I was coming here regularly back in 2008. The selection of food was huge, it was always hot and fresh and the prices somewhat reasonable, but that wasn’t the case this time! Their prices went way up, and their«hot food» is not hot. At all. I knew they charged by the pound, but $ 6.99 a pound is too much! I remember the last time I went here, I ended Up paying almost $ 12 for my food. Keeping that in mind today, I was very careful and limited with my portions. All I got was a small baked chicken breast and wing piece, a little mashed potatoes, a tiny piece of Italian sausage, and a couple of pieces of fruit for dessert. I paid $ 6.72. So not worth it! I felt robbed! I felt like my wallet has been raped, totally violated! I could’ve paid less somewhere else and get better quality food! The chicken was cold, and there was a soft inedible spot on my strawberry. I wished I would’ve taken a picture of the plate before I ate. I didn’t finish my cold chicken in fear of food poisoning. I’m going to see how I feel later on to figure out if I’m indeed going to get sick. Maybe I’ll give them another chance in the future, but no time soon!

This is a good little spot for lunch during the work week. It’s buffet food so you know it’s not going to be fine dining. On the buffet is items such as salsa, veggies, salads including egg salad, fruit, cheese, pasta salad, fried shrimp, mashed potatoes, potatoes, teriyaki chicken, rice, turkey stuffing, pastas, They do have a salad bar plus a decent selection of healthy items like roasted cauliflower which is delicious and then not so healthy items like mac and cheese which was not very great. They have soups and a grill with sandwiches like burgers(haven’t tried any of these).

I literally only eat here when I’m feeling anti-social, and by the looks of the back room(a dozen or so tables occupied only by people dining alone with books or cell phones) I’m not the only one who feels that way. It’s a good buffet. Lots of health-conscious options; plenty of comfort food choices. You can get a massive and pretty tasty salad for about $ 5. Super fast lunch option if you’re in a hurry.

I really gave this place a chance but its not worth it and there are better places to spend your culinary dollars. First of all the breakfast they have eggs in a steamer and they are always cold. I understand sometimes places make mistakes, so I brought this to the owners attention that the eggs were cold thinking that this issue would be corrected on my next visit but I was mistaken, the next visit or the next 3 visits, same cold eggs. To me this means the owner doesn’t care about his food. Overall the food at lunch is lukewarm and over salty and dry. Ording at the grill will get you a hot meal but other then the grill, nothing to see here, move along, buffet bad, kinda like Old Country Buffet bad.

The bar food is disgusting. On numerous of occasions I found the food was either spoiled or undercooked. They have combos but don’t offer a drink with it. The cooks are very rude and the prices are way to much. This place doesn’t even deserve a star. Awful

The food is very meh – underseasoned, limp, lukewarm and somewhat crusty from being under heat lamps. Surprisingly expensive if you are not careful about how much you take. It feels very much like a cafeteria. You can spend a comparable amount of money on much better food in the area.

Typical buffet. Very convenient for lunch during work hours in the Loop. Try dining in or else your food will get cold quickly. Prices are reasonable.

Food by the pound. Breakfast and lunch. Variety of hot foods ranging from meatloaf, salmon, lo mein, rice, mashed potatoes, green beans, sausage, teriyaki chicken, grilled chicken, shrimp tempura, ribs, vegetables. They do have a nice salad bar, but a lot of their salad bar items are drenched in oil, cheese, or something mayonnaise-based. If you’re looking strictly for a salad bar with more options, trek over to Mac Kellys. They also have 2 piping hot cauldrons of soup ready to pour into foam to-go containers. Lastly they have a grill area where they serve burgers, gyros, fries and possibly other menu items. This review is for lunch food by the pound only. Not the greatest, or healthiest but is consistently just ok. I visit on those few occasions where I can’t decide what to eat for lunch.

I love that it’s a $ 6.39/lb buffet for those days where I can’t decide what I really want to eat. It is clean and well labeled. However, the food isn’t exactly to the temperature I like my hot foods at, so by the time I walk back to my office, I do need to reheat it a min or two. I personally liked their crusted chicken, ribs, lasagna, Idaho mashed potatoes, and chicken wings. Avoid the«beef» grayish colored meatloaf.

This buffet is in my building so it’s pure convenience when I don’t have much time and I need to get a breather from Jimmy Johns(which is very rare). All the food is fresh and they have a large variety that fulfill anyone’s taste. Usually I go here when I want to eat healthier and get all of the veggies. Everything is cooked well and actually seasoned. They are a little more expensive, but that is kind of in your control, as they price by weight. So when I feel like a fatty and load up, I pay for it. The buffet itself is clean, but I can not say the same for the dining area. Usually always messy, with crap all over the floors, tables not wiped down, it’s kinda gross. Advice, get it to go and eat it back at your office or over at Daley if it’s nice out.

To Whom It May Concern: I frequent Delmonico’s in the Burnham Building I work in the building and the location is convenient. However, this morning my experience wasn’t very pleasant and I wanted management to be made aware of my concerns. I ordered a sandwich at the grill and proceeded to the cashier to pay for my breakfast. This morning their were two cashiers along with 2 customers in one line and I walked up as the cashier was finishing up with another customer — however, the young lady opted to assist another customer that was standing in another line. She stated, «She was here first!» However, the customer was clearly standing in the other line — I did find that to be rather rude considering the customer wasn’t in the line I walked up to. When I addressed my concerns to the cashier she didn’t really show any empathy towards my concerns. I work in a Customer Service environment and I believe your management team needs to ensure that cashiers are properly trained on how to approach customer concerns. After this incident, I will not be using your services for a while. Ellie

You get what you pay for. That’s Delmonico It’s a buffet with a variety of foods from chicken wings to fish to sushi and other american and chinese fair. It’s not the greatest quality food, but it’s quick and easy. It’s also good value for the buck. I come here a few times a month. Not for everybody, but if you’re wanting to be a baller on a budget for lunch in the loop, this is a good stop.

Feeling indecisive with where to take your lunch? Delmonico can solve that. There are two buffet sections, hot and cold. On the hot side, entrees include teriyaki chicken, grilled chicken, fried chicken, sesame chicken, spring rolls, fried shrimp, fried frog legs, fried catfish, string beans, mushrooms, sweet potato, corn, fried rice, and stir fried noodles. On the other hand, the cold side includes appetizers, salad, sushi, fruits, and dessert. Doesn’t this sound like one of those AYCE Chinese buffets? The difference is Delmonico charges $ 6.39 per pound. You can limit the cost by being conscious of how you pile your plate. In addition to the buffet sections, there is also a fast food stand for the guilty eaters. Their menu includes burgers, gyros, grilled cheese, and French fries. It’s a very unhealthy yet economical choice as most of them seem to fall within $ 5. Our trio stuck with the buffet option and the total came out to $ 27. We were stuffed and pleased.

Well… this place is was chosen by my coworkers for lunch. There’s not too much to be said about it. It’s bad food in a buffet by the lb. I was pretty hung over and thought this may help out… not so much. A wide variety of food but none of it very good. It’s hidden back between buildings like some sort of tuck away hidden place. Should remain hidden and not found. My coworkers would likely be sore at me for this but I can’t say much about this place beyond skip it. Cross the street to the Chase building and go to their cafeteria… if you want cafeteria food it’s a better choice.

Delmonico is a hidden gem downtown that is a great choice for those wandering about with a budget in mind, but no clue what they want for lunch. A fresh salad bar with fruits and veggies, different types of cold salads… many of which switch out daily, sits at one side. The other contains a hot bar, with everything from fresh green beans sauteed in garlic, to pad thai noodles to chicken wings and more. Again, items change daily, so you potentially could never get sick of this place. Not hitting the spot yet? Well, there’s also two fresh soup choices and a deli/sandwich counter where you can get burgers and sandwiches as well. For any appetite, big or small(a pound is right around $ 6.50) and those indecisive about lunch, this place is a sure spot. There’s something for everyone!
