Chicken was delicious, fries were too, and the drinks were perfect. The staff was attentive and personable. I will definitely be back.

It’s great to have a neighborhood bar like this. Walking distance. Great for game and drinks. The beergarita is tops! I used to be a regular. I’ve come twice in past month and had less than stellar food. Nachos — good and plenty. Mozzarella sticks were uniquely breaded but so cold that our waiter took them back. Chicken wings last week were not seasoned, not just under seasoned. No taste at all. And I appreciate that their dipping sauces are homemade, but a blue cheese dressing that lacks taste and is consistency of whole milk is not appetizing. Our waiter said they’d heard that complaint and suggested a secret habañero sauce that was okay. Always get great service here. Especially on non-event weeknights when only 3 – 4 tables are filled. I have frequented this place since it opened. I highly recommend it for bar seating and sports. But that’s all, unless the menu and execution improve. And soon.

I went to Crew many times a few years ago for Thursday night karaōke. I was there recently for a friend’s beer launch. I did not order food, but the food ordered by members of my party looked good. They have cider on tap, which is always a plus with me. I think it may have lost a bit of its charm since ownership changed, but that is personal opinion.

Holy crap on a Popsicle stick, this place is expensive! Drinks aren’t bad, but if you get the munchies, expect to delve out half your paycheck. And worse, they skimp on everything! You want their most popular item, the chicken strips? Great, but it’ll cost you $ 12 and you’ll get maybe 5 strips if you’re lucky. Want carrot and celery sticks to go with? Sure, but that’s extra! The service is friendly enough, which is saying a lot for a town suffering in basic customer service protocol. But damn this place is pricey! I do like where they position their TVs; nearly everyone can watch the game of his choice. Beware of the straight chicks, though. They like this place too, and they bring attitude.

I used to love Crew — the service and the food were top notch. Stopped in last week with my husband after a long vacation out of the country(nearly 8 months) — menu is lacking all of our favorites, the server could not get anything we ordered right. We opted for some new items as our favorites were gone — and boy were we disappointed. Nothing was great as we are used to at Crew. Service was slow and the server made an issue about just about everything — like subbing fries for onion rings or something of that nature. Prices went up a lot as well. So sad, used to be one of our favorites in the area. Not sure we will be back. Sorry Crew you lost some good business as my business is right around the corner and you were our go to for lunch. Others in the office advised they had stopped eating there as well.

What happened to this place. Really used to like coming here. They used to have a good menu, nice selection. Not anymore! Very small basic menu. You can get this food anywhere. Most bars have much better choices. . Had been before with thier small menu, but I thought it was a temporary thing. Maybe just go for a drink and watch a game, but not to eat.

I’ve been to crew three times now. Each time, the service gets worse. Crew is constantly understaffed on Sunday’s. The food isn’t that great. And while the unlimited mimosas are a selling point. They take forever to come out and the staff will stop serving you claiming you’ve been over severed. I would not recommend this place for brunch.

Our darling waiter truly was the savior of the evening. I had the pleasure of having a late-ish dinner here last night with about 15 friends. Actually first of all, the place is spotless and has a lovely interior. That should be mentioned. It’s a «sports bar» without being a sports bar. Read: not obnoxious. I availed myself to the«bottomless mimosa» deal, which didn’t go so well with the veggie burger I ordered, but I’m a sucker for a mimosa. I have also cut way back on my alcohol intake and don’t typically get sauced on a Sunday night, but I happened to not start work until 10am the next day, so I made an exception. As mentioned ^^up there^^, I ordered a veggie burger with white cheddar cheese and tater tots(I won’t eat fries normally, but tater tots are so fun). I also sampled a couple bites of their macaroni and cheese. SOGOOD. Especially for bar food. I mentioned our waiter earlier. He was awesome for several reasons, but here’s specifically why. I was involved in a very intense discussion about Broadway musicals and show tunes. The only thing I remember is that one minute, we were discussing why Andrew Lloyd Webber is overrated and the next minute, I heard a thud and breaking glass. My champagne flute had like, exploded all over the table. I don’t even think I was touching it, which was the crazy thing. I certainly wasn’t holding it at the time. And I’d only had one complete mimosa and was about halfway through my second(the one that broke) when this happened. Darling waiter, ever so patient, dashed over to rid my table space of the broken glass, wipe up the spilled mimosa(the part I hadn’t already licked off of the table — that’s a joke, by the way) and brought me a replacement. And he was so nice about it. Seriously, such a nice guy. And it wasn’t just the mimosa incident. Every single time he spoke to me, just so nice. If I lived in the neighborhood, I’d go to this place all the time. It’s much nicer than several of the other places around. P. S. Hi family.

What’s happened to Crew or better yet, what is Crew trying to be? It used to be a fun place to go to watch sports(still is), have some good bar food and enjoy a drink or a beer from their extensive offerings. However, this is the 2nd trip in the past month were the food has been greatly disappointing. Service was a bit slow, but Zach was attentive when he could be. He seemed to have a large section and was only his third day on his own. Everything seemed to be unorganized and just off. I decided on the nachos thinking of the huge towering pile of nacho goodness of years past. My dinner mate decided on the Cincinnati Chili having asked if it was the same as the previous chili that was on the menu was pretty much inedible. The waiter thought it was an updated recipe so he went ahead and ordered. When the food comes out the nachos arrive first. A smallish pile of chips in a bowl covered in a gloppy white tasteless ‘cheese’ sauce, a few pickled peppers of some sort and some black beans. We had asked for the chorizo on the side, which we found to be extremely salty. A few minutes later the chili came out, not sure why they didn’t come together. But alas, it was the same chili as before which was promptly sent back and taken off the bill. Zack was excellent with that request. So this all brings me to the question of what is Crew trying to be? New takes on bar food are always welcome but the execution needs to be nailed and should be better than the standard offering. Which brings up a few other questions… Why are you serving food on planks of wood? Why do you use sloping sided bowls that tend to have the food fall out? I’m really confused as to what you are aiming for because right now, you are missing by a wide margin on much of your menu.

This place used to be kick-ass!!! Now it’s just sort of meh. Used to be a great sports bar with great bar food. After the renovation they seemed to have forgotten their roots as a gay sports bar and seem to be focusing on their lackluster menu. All the great things on their menu have disappeared, replaced by fancy and not so great options. The staff have also seemed to lost their service skills. It’s not unusual to wait 15 minutes for your beer while they bartender and servers stare at their phones. It’s a shame too, it used to be so great!

I Wish I could rate the Bar separately from the food. So I will review them that way. 1. the Bar is as advertised, nice Sports Bar. 4 stars 2 the Food is also as reviewed on Unilocal(I wish I would have read first) 2 Stars on a good day. It left much to be desired. Without being to rude — Cardboard would taste better than the Burger this place served. The Tatter tots were good although salty.

God, Crew has started to suck so bad after years of serving very good bar food. Ever since the prior owners left, the food here has gotten substandard. Do not order any chicken sandwich as the 4 oz ½ chicken breast will be swallowed up by the toasted wonder bread that encases it. Chicken strips and fries, and tater tots ARENOTCOOKEDTOORDER as they were for years but instead now sit in a basket cold in the kitchen where they’re re-heated if you’re lucky… nothing that comes out of Crew’s kitchen is inspired any longer. In fact, it’s obvious they just want you to drink yourselves into oblivion as if you could give a shit about a decent sandwich after work. Tonight, I had to ask for my chicken strips to be prepared fresh — and I got an eye roll from the server. Trivia was once fun on Monday nights — and now it’s practically deserted. And they’ve changed to a new trivia company, which is clearly only geared to an early 20-something crowd… so if you don’t know your Brittney and Demi Lovado, you better hang it up – ironic since the Deejay booth has a sign on it discouraging you from requesting Brittney and redirects you to Boystown for such fare! No such luck anymore — this place can now give a shit about serving decent food and continuing to cater to the 30-something and 40-something set that have supported it for years. Instead, they now want to be Scarlet. I’ve got news for you Crew Mgmt: you’re in Uptown, not Boystown — where we still care about a decent meal, good service without attitude, and not being watered down into the early 20-something mindset. You’re losing out on a real opportunity to cater to the group of us who can afford to drop more than a few bucks on a beer and stale fries — and who are happy to tip a waitstaff that gives a shit.

Apparently a mistake to try to eat here during Bear’s game. Came in while waiting for car repair across street. Understaffed — 20-plus minute wait for attention. It didn’t help that the waiters apparently don’t help eachother out — I managed to flag down two during my wait who declined to take a drink order(or even bring me some water). Kitchen stopped taking orders because ‘slammed’(probably a good idea.). Interssting beer menu which I couldn’t explore because of need to drve aforementioned car when done. Even after kitchen opened and place substatially cleared out, it still took my beleaguered waiter so long to get to me that I’d lost any desire to give this restaurant my business.

First I want to say I don’t know why they label this place a GAYBAR on Unilocal… If you have good food or not that should be the selling point for the customers… IJS Anyway I came here and wasn’t really able to eat anything but the appetizer because time got away from me… sad face I did get to taste the fried pickles and okra… wish I wished they gave you a bigger portion for almost $ 7 but that’s just me if you are in a group of two or more you will need more than one order if you want to enjoy this appetizer. The seats were kind of wobbly when we sat outside and for the dog lovers you can bring your pet… I believe that is just for the outside seating but that is a cool factor. Our appetizer was great and I wished I had more and had time to taste more from the crew. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is because our waiter seemed to forget that we were outside. I don’t know if they were short staffed or not but it took him awhile to take our order and he never came to check if we liked our order while we were there. I am going to give them another chance since the food I saw coming out to other people looked so good and on top of that my Pastor and a couple church member devoured the food that they had in front of them. My experience was Meh but I am going to give them another chance when I have time to just sit back and enjoy!!! Uptown is starting to be my favorite place… lol Enjoy!!!

I love having this place in our neighborhood. It’s a much needed and much welcome addition to this stretch of Broadway. Their patio is great for summer nights. The service can be a little slow when they are busy. The menu is ok if you want a sandwich or a burger. It would be nice if there were some more options — but it’s really a bar more so than a restaurant. If you’re looking for more of a dinner or a foodie experience I would head elsewhere. We sill certainly be back!

Came in for lunch for the Taco Hump-Day Special. I was excited, I still had hope for a better future and the world was mine. Than I ordered and everything went horribly wrong. Do you know how long it takes to make a taco? I do! and I could have made and consumed quiet a few tacos in the time it took for the tacos to come out. Ever bite into a toritlla chip and realize that the world is a terrible inhumane place? Until this Wednesday I still had hope. BUT nothing topped the tacos! NOTHING. Crunchy on the outside and soggy chewy on the inside. And the beef… wow. I still think I can taste it. I should have left. I was hungry. I was naïve. I was with a group. Oh the humanity.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday with some friends and co-workers. I tried to order the pozo-pollo taco off their taco hump-day specials menu, and I was told that they were out of the chicken. So I ordered the guisado de res taco with a side of rice for an extra dollar and chips and salsa. It took quite a while for my food to come out. The chips and salsa came out first. The salsa roja was decent. It wasn’t as spicy as the one next door at Fiesta Mexicana. The chips were, unfortunately, stale and gross. Some of the chips were crunchy; some were soggy and awfully chewy. When my guisado de res taco came out, I was disappointed to see that the taco itself looked crunchy. When I bite into it, the shell broke because it was soggy in the middle from the beef juice. The beef was gross; it had a weird aftertaste. The rice was perfectly salted, but I hated the frozen peas that they used. Ugh, it was such a bad food experience that I don’t think I’d go back.

Been multiple times but first time reviewing. Great sports bar near public transportation. Plenty of seating and decent beer selections. Food menu is equally good. This particular visit i ordered The Mitch –grilled chicken breast, brie, avocado, lettuce, lemon aioli on buttered sourdough bread and a side of tots. The sandwich was great! I especially enjoyed the lemon aioli. Game was on so it was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. My friend ordered the Tuesday special $ 1 tacos. Service was kind of slow though.

Crew is one of my favorite places to go Uptown. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t written a review before now. It’s a very relaxed and easy-going place that quickly transitions to a rowdy sports bar on game day. It’s probably the least pretentious gay restaurant in the city but it’s really for everyone. Anyone could go there and have a great time without feeling like they’re being cruised. It’s a place to go with friends for a great time and great food. I usually order their burgers, which are great but last time I tried the adult pb&j. This sandwich is insanely good. It’s hazelnut butter, stout berry jam and peppery bacon on toasted sourdough. I want another one right now. I want one every day. Their salads and wraps are also really good too and their mac and cheese side is worth the upgrade. They typically have good drink specials even on the weekends, however if I had to say anything negative it would be that the cocktails that aren’t on special are overpriced. $ 16.50 for a grey goose martini? That’s a bit much. I’d pay less downtown. The service at this place is really top notch. All the waiters and bartenders are really helpful and knowledgeable. If you haven’t been to Crew, you have something to do tonight!

I like to go to Crew on Sundays with friends for a little bit of bar food and Sunday Funday. Its a pretty laid back atmosphere. Not the cheapest drinks in the world, but they have some good stuff. I like the light lemonade, not sure what is in it but its apparently low calorie and delicious. Its nice to go to a gay bar that isn’t like a crazy disco. Some days, I just want to sit back and have a chill afternoon or go with friends to watch football and that is precisely when we hit up Crew. It also helps that the appetizers are great to share with the table when you need a snack mid afternoon on a Sunday! Crew has a welcome environment that you look for in a gay bar, without the crazy club music and lights. Check it out!
