Wonderful Crepes! Savory and sweet. This is our faborite spot for crepes. Consistently good. My favorite crepes are the Florentine and the Nutella. They also have 6 dollar martinis and they are great!

I ordered the Beef bourguignon, which is traditionally a rich burgundy beef stew. what I received was a crock filled with peas and corn(clearly from a frozen bag) with two tiny pieces of beef.

No one greeted us for two minutes upon walking in, bartender was on her cell phone at the register the majority of the time. Martinis were inconsistent and poorly crafted. Both of our martinis were«edited» after the first bit of pour into the glass — additional mixers were added to each shaker. We aimlessly sat at the bar, pulling stools out to gain someone’s attention. Our server never checked our liking of the drinks or asked us if we wanted food.

My friend took us here and boy am I glad she did! We split the Kathmandu and the banana-nutella. The Kathmandu was AMAZING — SO much flavor(I found myself yearning for it the next day!). We got the house fries with the savory crêpe — very good! The martinis were great also.

Crêpe wasn’t horrible. We got the sugar and butter crêpe and caramel apple crêpe. The sugar and butter was very good. The whipped cream was very tasty. Although, the crêpe skin was a little thicker than I am used to. Service was mediocre. The annoying part was they were grilling onions on the big grill(with poor ventilation), so I smelled like an onion walking out of the restaurant.

The food was okay. The ingredients inside the crêpe were not fully cooked which some people may like but I love when the warm crêpe is accompanied by warm fully cooked ingredients. I also had a salad and that was good. The service though was TERRIBLE. I assume the waitresses did not speak good English because they screwed up our orders twice. Then they claimed I never stated I wanted my crêpe a certain way when I actually said I wanted it that way at least 5 times. They were so rude I wouldn’t advice eating in. And take your chance on eating out.

When living in the south loop, this is the best place to get crepes from. I would end up craving these every few weeks and need to stop by and pick some up. My favorite was the chicken Florentine!

I love crepes, and I wanted to love this place, but they only thing I really enjoyed was the décor. Nice«French café» vibe… but the dinner crêpe looked like it came from a divey diner and tasted like it was fried in too much oil, the homefries tasted like they were fried in old oil, or were just old fries they had refried and thrown some spices on, and service was pretty lacking, considering I was the only person there… not a single check-in or refill of my water. I decided to forego the dessert crêpe. The choices were pretty limited, and I didn’t want to chance another mediocre encounter. Good idea, bad execution. I won’t be back.

Not a fan. Bought a Groupon for this place and it’s a rip off. But not exactly, depends if u want to drink wine or not. Ur only saving if u want the wine because if u do the math, the groupon actually cost more if u don’t want to drink. But the food itself, except the dessert crêpe, the main dish crepes are tasteless. The best u can do is order the ones with stew so there’s a little taste from its sauce, otherwise tasteless. The crêpe itself was bad, undercooked. The service was good. Very nice. The place looked old, not much décor. Small and a bit dark.

This intimate creperie offers authentic French crepes in all the usual savory and sweet flavors. There is a full bar and an interesting selection of reasonably priced cocktails. Service is friendly, but a low staff to patron ratio means it may take a while to place your order. So just go and relax, like the French do. The L-shaped restaurant has a few tables and a bar in the front, and a more intimate sofa and chair seating area in the back. There is full meal service at the bar, too.

Cute little spot you don’t see often in the loop. I had borscht and it was delicious. My mom ordered breakfast special. It was inedible except for the delicious crêpe. I also ordered a delicious martini. So come for the Martinis and crepes

As our very first meal after arriving in Chicago, this place was everything I was hoping for and more. I actually had already used Unilocal the day before to bookmark restaurants that especially appealed to me. I was especially interested in dining experiences that were totally different from what I could find back at home(Charleston SC). Ethnic foods like Scandinavian, Hawaiian, and Polish were at the top of my list. Because of its proximity to our hotel(theWit), Crêpe Bistro made the most sense among those I had selected. Owned by a very pleasant Russian man, the restaurant definitely has an ethnic, Old World feel to it which was awesome. The back of the restaurant is very private(and worth a look as it reminded me of scenes from James Bond movies where private dealings are going on) although I’m happy that my parents and me were seated up front by the window where we could watch the foot traffic out on the street. Our waitress was actually from Kosovo which added to the authenticity of the experience. She was very nice. Their namesake crepes were absolutely amazing. I actually ordered their Apple Crepes twice(not the caramel version) that first time there because I liked them so much. The crepes were topped with a delicately sweet homemade whipped cream. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her omelet crêpe as well. We all shared our first ever bowl of Borscht Soup(made with beetroot) which we agreed was delicious and completely different from what we are accustomed to. Later during our stay in Chicago, we returned here for another breakfast which was likewise awesome. This time I got their Country French Breakfast meal(with a Cinnamon and Butter Crêpe, sausage, eggs, and potatoes). I also got another Apple Crêpe. For those able to come here on a Friday night, they actually bring in Russian musicians to add to the ambiance. I highly recommend Crêpe Bistro for anyone wanting to get a flavor of Russia.

A true 4.5, but let’s round up this time because clearly other reviewers are fundamentally wrong about this place. People complaining about the service here — which comprise most of the bad Unilocal reviews, ahem! — just don’t understand that this is a European-paced little restaurant café. Yes, it IS slow. Take a breath. Try not to come here when you are rushed. Try, really try, to appreciate this place for what it is: — Delicious crepes — Delicious sides with your delicious crêpe(I always get the tomato soup, and have yet to be disappointed) — Cheap martinis(cannot vouch for; have not tried; would love to after oggling others) I totally love the weird Russian-French combo thing they have going on, and the cool lounge couches in the back part of the restaurant, and their(at times unfortunately loud) accordion player who plays«Girl from Ipanema» and other classics. I love that this place is open late in the Loop, and doesn’t feel like your typical Loop establishment restaurant. It feels like it belongs in Ukrainian Village, or some other section of the city. It’s got way too much character to be in the Loop — and of course, that just adds to the character and compounds my already existing appreciation for it. Though perhaps a dollar or two above the price where I’d be more of a repeat visitor, I appreciate that they are probably trying to pay their rent and will not dock them the star I usually do in these cases. Especially if you are a tourist and don’t have the time or mental energy to find somewhere outside of downtown to go to eat, this is a very reasonably priced place that will sate your desire to consume urban character while never forcing you to stray beyond the bounds of Wacker and Wells. I recommend.

Cute with great atmosphere and the food was delicious. We had several varieties of savory and sweet and shared them all. The Nutella with banana(I added strawberries), the caramel apple, the lemon, and the one with orange liquor were all amazing. The red pepper with goat cheese and the pesto savory crepes were equally amazing and filling. I highly recommend this place!

Clean plates are the best sign of true food enjoyment and my friend and I had just that. We used a groupon for a bottle of wine and two savory and two dessert crepes. Luckily, we have similar tastes, so we were able to halve each of our crepes and try four instead of two! The pinot noir we ordered was pretty standard, but good. We split the chicken Florentine and the goat cheese and red pepper crêpe on special, with side salads. The side salad was full of nice greens and a light and flavorful dressing. The chicken Florentine crêpe was full of chicken and a light creamy sauce. The goat cheese and red pepper one was a little lighter on the filling, but not on flavor, with a nice pine nut crunch. My favorite part was the crêpe itself– I could have probably snacked on that without any filling at all. For our dessert crepes, we chose to share the banana nutella and snow queen crepes. The banana nutella one is a you can’t go wrong situation. Lots of bananas and the perfect amount of nutella to leave that nutty chocolate flavor gooed all over your teeth. The snow queen was lighter, simply a sweet crêpe with ice cream and honey. Just like I thought– the crepes are pretty much good enough on their own. We cleaned our plates, but didn’t feel like we needed to go up a pantsize by the end of the meal. Our server was super attentive and sweet. I hope this place sticks around the loop for a long time. It’s tough to find places open past 3 in the loop and it’s nice to have somewhere like this to go for dinner after a long day in the office.

Go for the martinis and the friendly, attentive service. The crepes were OK, but could have been better.

Been meaning to eat here forever, but finally had the chance today, and intended to use an expired Groupon. Granted, it has expired a few years ago for the promo amount, but legally it doesn’t expire for the amount paid, until 11÷23÷16. They refused to accept it on the grounds that they don’t have records from back then, and can’t tell if it’s been redeemed or not. They suggested getting a refund from Groupon, and I intend to do just that.

Been here 3 times as live down the block. First time service was good, chocolate martinis delish & dessert crêpe sweet! Second time service was horrendous, but crepes were good. Third time service was even worse, crepes very thick, ham & cheese crêpe overcooked & only received one slice of onion with the salmon crêpe which was stuffed with way too much crème cheese. The same Waitress on our second & third visits seems like she just doesn’t want to be there as keeps checking her cell phone. Literally had to walk up to her sitting at the bar to tell her we were ready to order food & walk up again to pay. Oh & their website lists Martinis are $ 5 but charge $ 6. & a Vodka Sprite was $ 9.50. I’ll be back for the Martinis & to try their Borscht. Otherwise my crepes at home are better.

Now that Ikosium Kafe in Lincoln Park closed, the creperies in Chicago that I loved dwindled down to Crêpe Town in Uptown. Having been there recently, I wanted to try another creperie in the city that I hadn’t tried yet. And while roaming around in the Loop, I happened upon Crêpe Bistro. Serendipity. Bellini. Coconut shrimp. Tomato basil soup. Kathmandu crêpe. Banana nutella crêpe. Coffee with cream. Loved the Bellini. My hat goes off the bartender, who I think was the Asian woman who was also my server.(I sat outside, so I wasn’t necessarily sure, but she was the person who greeted me when I entered.) The coconut shrimp was delicious, although the accompanying sauce made the appetizer slightly sweeter. I gobbled the rest sans the sauce. The tomato basil soup didn’t taste like anything from a can, or doctored up from a can, so I was pleased. The Kathmandu crêpe was a winner. Stuffed with chicken, mushrooms, and mozzarella, and topped with a curry sauce, I was glad to have been hanging out in the Loop and hankering for crepes. Per the server’s recommendation, I had the banana nutella crêpe that ranks up there with my favourite banana foster crêpe. I went during the late morning on a Saturday, so it wasn’t crowded the way I figure it gets later in the day or through the week. It may have been my luck to get the bartender for my server because not only was she good with suggestions, but also quite conversational: a trait in good bartenders. So, now Crêpe Town and Crêpe Bistro are my two favourite creperies in the city.

Patio Love! It’s the first blanc/white coq au vin crêpe I’ve had and took the friendly waitress’ recommendation of mozzarella over swiss. Very flavorful, delicate and buttery choice! The $ 8 lunch special included a tasty crock of tomato basil soup. Wine by the glass ranged from $ 6-$ 9 on average and the house cabernet sauvignon was decent. My buddy Romeo suggested this 6 year old crêpe spot in the Loop after we’d pretty much exhausted all of our favorite River North locations and especially because he’d just returned from a wonderful Montréal trip. Missing a bit of that city myself, I agreed to cheat on my favorite purveyor in Lincoln Park, Le Creparie. Romeo opted for the feta cheese omelette crêpe and it was sharp and delicious. We finished with a rich Nutella crêpe with vanila ice cream. Definitely a winner! So why have I been missing out on this beautiful gem for 6 years? Gotta go back! :)

No crêpe they serve five dolla martini’s! Or if your taste is more sophisticated, you can pay ten dollars for the premium drank. I started with one but it quickly turned into two… or was I seeing double with my drunk goggles on? They were two very delicious, very intoxicating-ly good martini’s no less. Aside from drinking, I needed to do some eating. The hubs and I split a Greek salad. Entrée for him was the omelet and bacon panini with fries. For me the Kathmandu crêpe; chicken, mushrooms, cheese and a curry sauce with mango chutney. Good balance of filling to crêpe to sauciness. Everything I drank and ate was great. It was a LOT of food for a ridiculously reasonable price. The hubs even used a curse word to describe how good it was(he never curses) and he wanted to go back the following weekend(he left with a great first impression).
