13 $ for a cup of Mac and cheese and porkbelly? Not even that good. Seriously over priced.

I mean, as a place to sit and kill a minute while you’re waiting for the Art Institute and its dilettante schedule(10:30? Really? So sorry to wake you all) to get around to opening up, you could do worse. The space is trendy, the prices area cheap, there’s wi-fi. But that’s all true of a lot of places, and nothing really stands out, either. Well, one thing: your food will be served hot. Like, ridiculous, radioactive, fires-of-Armageddon hot. I had to wait for my egg and spinach tart and egg and veggie wrap(essentially the same thing with a different shape) cool for like ten minutes before gingerly going for small bites. Not sure if they’re microwaving stuff or what, but it was a little weird. In any case, I got a coffee and an orange juice along with the food. Wasn’t offered any supplements to the coffee and there weren’t any at the table. I came back up to the counter to ask for a side of soy milk, and was sold a ten-ounce cup instead. I don’t really care about the $ 1.69, but – can’t you just give me a side of soy milk? Either a failure to communicate or a very strange policy: unclear. Food was fine, and two items at $ 3.50 apiece made for a perfectly satisfactory breakfast. Other than the minor confusion over soy milk, there really was nothing bad I’d say about Cosi. But oddly, as is the case with so many competent chains, there really isn’t that much to distinguish it, either. I’d certainly not avoid the place or even claim that it was less than satisfactory, but, given more time to explore, I can’t say that it’s likely that I’d make a point of doing that again.

After a day of walking through the Art Institute, I went to this Cosi for a late lunch. My salad was great and darn good sized.(I’m a big eater, especially after an art march, so that was appreciated). The people working there actually cared about customer service and creating a good dining experience(rather than just getting through their shifts), were pleasant and got me served quickly. Definitely my go-to place when I visit the Art Institute!

I would have given a half star if it were available, but never in my 26 years of customer service and even when I operated at the level of a store manager did I believe it was right to even insinuate to the customer that they were basically wrong especially when they are telling you their meal was not prepared correctly. Manager or not wrong is wrong, that was my first experience and no need for another. Oh and ended up being late for and appointment as well. 23Nov15

Came here for a quick dinner and we enjoyed the food very much! There is a fire oven inside and they use it to bake fresh bread! I got the chicken pesto melt with chipotle pumpkin soup and my husband got the adobe chicken bowl with clam chowder. Everything was so yummy and flavorful! I wish they would bring one to Houston!

Only tried the smores and tea here. The Smores were really good, they have a tiny little Buber they light up to melt your marshmallows. Although the light didn’t last long enough to melt all of them.

Not a very good Cosi. Of course, it has been about a year and a half since I’ve eaten at a Cosi, so either the entire chain has really gone downhill, or this location is nothing like the ones in California. The menu seems to have shrunk quite a bit. The tomato basil soup used to be excellent, but the one I had here was bland. They were also out of the soup my friend wanted. We weren’t offered bread with our soup and sandwich combos, but that was always an option when I’ve visited other Cosi locations. I would prefer the bread to the plain bag of chips I received any day. Cosi seems to no longer offer my favorite roasted veggie sandwich, so I got the hummus and vegetable sandwich instead, which was nothing to write home about. I wish I’d eaten somewhere else, and I’m sad to realize that the chain is no longer as good as it used to be.

Clean, reasonably priced, fast service, really tasty sandwiches. Great location. They bus the tables for you. Panera-esque.

I frequent this location often and when I do I usually get a Cobb salad or the turkey chili. The service by the staff is here is always cordial and efficient. My food is always prepared fast and fresh. They even have an option to order and pay for your food online so that once you get to the location you can just retrieve your meal and leave. Down the line, this may prove to be a bad idea due to anyone having the ability to come in and pick up food without having to show any i.d. But for the moment it is an ideal situation for those who are busy and short on time. They also offer a points reward system where you purchase so many meals in order to obtain a free meal.

Wow I don’t think I have ever in my life had such great customer service… As a retail worker I don’t think I have ever given such great customer service either! Whoa Marcos was amazing! He immediately realized that I was extremely lost and helped steer me in the right food direction! He was awesome, together we decided that the chicken avocado bowl would be the best lunch for me and omg he was right it was! It’s was amazing and tasteful! I highly recommend Marcos and the food staff even during the hectic lunch hour downtown Chicago he still managed to keep. Smile and shine bright!

A very typical Cosi experience. They have yummy squagles(square bagels) to get your morning started off right, but the customer service is slow and inattentive.

2.5 This seems like a convenient place to dine while visiting the Art Institute. My steak salad left something to be desired, though — a big heap of iceberg lettuce with just a bit of steak on top. I appreciate that they offer carrot sticks as a healthy side option.

This place is great! We were spending the day at the art museum and went out for lunch, its right across the road! Plus the salad portion is huge(asian salmon was delicious), the price is very reasonable and the service and atmosphere are great. Id very much recommend this to hungry art museum visitors and people walking by.

My Cosi-loving family was pretty disappointed when we went to visit my grandparents and the Cosi in Orland Park was shut down. Luckily, there are plenty of Cosi restaurants downtown to meet our Cosi needs. I have been eating here for years, when I first discovered this place probably 11 years ago when I lived in Illinois. They have never disappointed. Usually I get the TBM melt, and it is always really good, but when I was there this week I decided to try something new. I got the Stuffed Portobello Mushroom bowl, and it was a unique meal for a sandwich-type place. I don’t know if it is relatively new, but I had never noticed it on the menu before. It was a mushroom with tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella on a bed of grains. It was better than I expected it to be, tasted fresh and I ate it all! Also came with the bread, which is my number one favorite thing about Cosi. that bread is incredible. My family mostly liked our last experience there as well, except for my sister who ordered the Shanghai salad. She barely ate it and said it tasted odd. Everything else was good though, got some cookies and brownies for dessert which were yummy. One complaint was that it took forever for my mom and I to get our food. Everyone else was served in a reasonable amount of time, but my mom and I were waiting for quite some time. It was worth the wait though. Also some of the people working there seemed to be fighting with each other across the room there. My mom said she didnt think they were seriously arguing, but still, kind of disruptive! Cosi still gets a thumbs up from me, I will be back probably every time I’m in the city since we don’t have Cosi out in Arizona.

I work right next door to the one on Michigan so I’m here quite a bit, I’ve had nothing but good experiences, their free pita bread as you wait is pretty clutch, things I’ve ordered– sW avocado salad-very good, flatbread sausage pizza-just ok, meatball sandwich-good eats, yogurt and oatmeal-both good, I’ve had pronably all their squagels and I like them all, all their catered mink flatbreads are pretty good too, as is their coffee, not too expensive either, definitely a go to place for me in downtown Chicago

This Cosi location sucks, at least for breakfast on a weekend. We visited at 10am on a Sunday morning because we had some time before the Art Institute opened. Hubs ordered an egg sandwich that took 27 minutes to arrive(we had the time stamp on the receipt from when we ordered). They were busy, but it wasn’t «line out the door» busy or anything. The major issue seemed to be the sandwich makers had some trouble determining the difference between their asses and a hole in the ground. Lots of people back there looking confused. I usually like Cosi, but definitely won’t be back to this location.

Cosi has certainly become go to restaurant for a quick lunch. Since I’ve discovered this gem, I’ve been to this restaurant once or twice a week. Upon entering this restaurant, you will notice how well this place is planned out. In the front of the restaurant, you’ll find large chairs and sofas along with lower tables. In the center of the room, is where you place your order. The menu is limited but it just enough to fill your hunger needs. Placing your order is generally painless. If you are eating in, you will be given a number so the food runner can deliver your order. My food has always been delivered within a matter of minutes. The balance of the room has various sizes and levels of tables to fit your eating needs. The restaurant has always been clean and free of clutter. I generally have the Chicken Caesar Salad with flat bread. For lunch, it’s the right size. So if you are near the Art Institute or the Louis University and need a good and reasonably price, stop in at Cosi.
