Seriously folks? We stayed at the Palmerhouse Hilton for three nights and walked by this place a couple times a day. It always seemed pretty busy so we thought we would give it a try on our last morning for breakfast. While the coffee was fine, the Panini sandwiches left a lot to be desired. Clearly made in advance. The eggs on the sandwich were cold and the once melted cheese was hard. The«toast» was dry and the bread not warm at all. It looked like the Panini press grill marks were painted on. Sorry Corner Bakery, you should go stand and face the corner in shame. Your coffee got you two stars.

After checking out my hotel, I passed by and garbed a lunch order for my flight. I did not have any idea for what to expect only descriptions of my thought. The lady at the order helped my ordered a turkey sandwich. Since I do not what it dripping and wet. All dressings are removed. The sandwich have sliced tasted turkey, several slices of bacons, and two big scopes of avocado. A piece of wrapped pickle and a bag of chip were also included in the brown bag, surprised me and the guy sitting next to me when I opened. Looks like I have nice wife preparing this for the traveling man. However, the bag was soaked with liquid and everything fell to the cabin floor. Second surprise for me and the guy sit next to me. Overall l like my sandwich even without these dressing.

The food is delicious and the service is good. Everything came out very fast and the staff was incredibly nice. I wouldn’t highly recommended the Anaheim scrambler for freak fast or the uptown turkey sandwich for lunch. Additionally, the cinnamon rolls and bagels are delicious!

Don’t want to pay an exorbitant amount for breakfast at one of the nearby hotels? Check out Corner Bakery. A variety of b’fast items(not just baked goods) including eggs, pancakes, oatmeal… nice strong coffee. And really pleasant staff. Had eggs with mushrooms and peppers, coupled with fresh fruit and a slice of the most delicious grain bread. If I was around at lunchtime I would have returned.

This was probably the worst breakfast I had in my ENTIRE life. We ordered an anaheim panini and a power flat with avocado and spinach. The girl who served us was extremely arrogant and barely talked to us. She seemed like she wasn’t interested in serving us at all. The panini had hardly any stuff in it and the flat had maybe half a scramble egg. 2 leaves of spinach and NO avocado. When I went back to the register and told them I got a glare and she took the plate from me. I waited at the kitchen door and heard them laughing and joking about it. Really disappointed about the service here.

Typically, I enjoy this chain but today was AWFUL. I ordered the Mac & Three Cheese café portion to-go for $ 6.99 and when I went to open my container, it looked as if it was eaten out of and the person left two spoonfuls of mac&cheese…such a waste of money. I won’t be coming here again. I suggest they better train their cooks to make sure they are serving the right amount of food.

Kudos for being the only breakfast place open on Easter Sunday. Strawberry Banana Shake w/Yogurt Protein Boost — Too sweet. I was only able to finish about half of it before tossing it. Farmers Omelette — Omelette tasted like any ordinary omelette. However, the fruit on the side was much too sour, especially paired with my shake.

Panini’s were great, picked up breakfast for the family brought back to the hotel room. I made the choices for everyone and they raved about what they had. Satisfying our crew isn’t an easy task! Kudos to the staff, very friendly and prompt!

It’s been awhile since I’ve stopped at a Corner Bakery. I came into this location on a Saturday afternoon, with my boyfriend, just before a day full of shopping. What a great way to start the day, we came in for a quick bite to eat! Upon entering we were greeted, the front staff were nice and very welcoming. Since it has been awhile we took our time to look over our options and the cashier patiently waited with a smile. The cashier was very helpful when it came to ordering, explaining the setup of my order and really made sure I knew what I was getting! I ended up ordering a Grilled Caprese Flat, side of the Basil Tomato Soup, and a side of chips. My boyfriend decided on a Bagel and cream cheese. Everything was pretty great, I was informed when ordering, that the flat was small. I was actually shocked at how small it was when it was brought out to us. I would’ve loved a larger portion but I was the perfect kind of full with my entire meal. Enough room to breath, just the right amount of food to fuel our day of shopping. As mentioned, everything was great. The dining area was clean, and filled with people from all walks of life. I enjoyed sitting near the window, such a great spot to people watch. My boyfriend and I were very please with our dining experience, the staff was even kind enough to take our empty plates! It was nice to start here, we didn’t wait very long and when we got our food we were able to get comfortable and enjoy ourselves. Just what we needed!

Caesar salad was gross. Tomato soup was relatively good. Overall was ok for quick lunch, but not quality.

Prompt and relatively polite staff, plenty of seating(there’s more seating downstairs if you can’t find any upstairs), delicious food and plenty of staff walking around checking in and disposing of your discards. Would return. They’re right down the street from the Adams/Wabash stop on the El.

What a nice little café! We stopped in after staying at the Palmer House Hotel next door for breakfast. I ordered the bacon and cheese panini and my husband ordered the Italian panini. They were quick, very tasty, and the staff delivered and clean up your plates. Very nice café.

This central downtown location is a busy rapidly changing over(customers, not necessarily employees). The employees are neutral(i.e. not friendly, not rude) by the numbers type. «May I help you?» «$ 2.99, Thank You». The outdoor seating is spacious and nice to just sit watch the vibe of downtown Chicago walk by with the rumble of the El. Pastries, some very fresh sometime not so. I think they may only have one delivery in the morning so by 2:30 p.m. you takes your chances.

It was cold in Chicago and I really wanted my hot tea and dessert after dinner. Dropped in because this place was on a convenient corner. Now, I realized there is a Corner Bakery really close to my apartment in CA and my workplace is constantly choosing them to cater our lunches and I’m happy about that. Food: Ordered a lemon pound cake and it was delicious. Very fresh, even though it was towards the end of the day, good amount of flavor, but super sweet! Just FYI, I needed water after, because it was so sweet. Service: Not the best. The ladies working weren’t super friendly, but it was close to the end of the day and maybe they were just tired. My interaction was limited so I cannot comment too much. Ambiance: Smaller upper level, large lower level but no windows for people watching. I highly recommend sitting by a window and people watching while enjoying a warm beverage and warm bakery item. It’s so peaceful, especially in the busy city! Price: A little pricey for a pastry! Overall: Okay service, good pastries, nice ambiance! I would come back when I need a break from the busy city of Chicago.

Had breakfast here while visiting the city for a weekend. It was a perfect simple breakfast. I had buttermilk pancakes with a side of fruit, as vegetarian options were a bit slim. Pancakes were delicious, though. Very fluffy and filling. Order was filled quickly and staff were quite friendly. The smoothies are not very good– very obviously artificially flavoured. Otherwise, a great place to stop in for quick, well-priced breakfast. Also close to the subway which was convenient for us as tourists.

Came here for lunch with a friend from the area and was very satisfied. Got a soup/sandwich combo, the Uptown Turkey and the Baked Potato soup. The sandwich was excellent. The bread was better than your average whole grain, the avocado was mashed up nicely so there were huge, overwhelming slices, and the bacon was thick and seemed to have been freshly cooked. The soup was great, very hearty, with the perfect amount of bacon and potato chunks. My meal also came with a bag of chips and a pickle. I left the meal feeling full, and very satisfied. My only complaint is that I asked for no tomatoes on my sandwich and they forgot to take them off, and that the sandwich(because of the avocado and the wet turkey) had some difficulty staying together. My meal cost $ 9.71, and it was well worth it. Would absolutely recommend and come back again.

We found this place by chance while looking for another restaurant that turned out to be closed since it was a Sunday visit. We took it as a good sign that there was a long line inside and plentiful seating because of the cold/rainy day that it was. We stepped in and the menu was brief but got to the key goods. They had the key breakfast staples(pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc) and then also some«healthier» options like breakfast wraps, oatmeal, and scramblers. I ordered the Anaheim breakfast panini which had eggs, bacon, avocado, and a tomato/onion mixture with cheddar cheese on sourdough bread. It was pretty good, although it was a little«soft» on the outside where they put some butter on the flattop but just didn’t grill it long enough. That didn’t stop me though, it tasted wonderful and was a perfect breakfast to keep me going that day. My man had the pancake breakfast with eggs and bacon and, because I always have to try his food too, tasted wonderful. The pancakes were huge, fluffy, and were cooked very well. The eggs and bacon were just as you’d expect, which isn’t a bad thing. We sat and chatted for a while since it was a rainy day out, which we felt comfortable doing as it seemed like the spot to just hang, other people around us were studying, meeting, or just enjoying the day like we were!

I got serviced as soon as I walked in and was greeted with a smile! The breakfast panini was absolutely amazing! You can tell they used quality ingredients the bacon was juicy and tasteful! The coffee could have been better but I guess that was my only complaint!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Fast, fresh, DELISH! It reminds me so much of Panera. Almost identical menu and set up. I ordered the pesto chicken grilled sandwich the southwest chicken grilled sandwich and a slice of lemon pound cake. I always say you can truly judge an eatery based on their cake. I liked all three items I ordered. The sandwiches were fresh and the ingredients were fresh as well. My only complaint was that the chicken felt a little processed, but hey its deli right? Most deli meats are processed. At any rate, the pesto chicken was spectacular. So was the southwest but I enjoyed the pesto a little better. The pound cake was AMAZING. Dense, delicious, buttery, and lemony. Exactly the way a pound cake should taste. No store bought taste at all. overall good experience.
