These guys have become my mid-life computer overhaul location. Back in 2010 I spilled coffee on the keyboard of an HP laptop. Thought it was probably toast. Took it to Computer Zone and they dropped a new keyboard in on the spot and sold me a new battery to replace the original(which no longer held a charge). I can’t remember the exact price but it was something like $ 75. last August the fan died in my main machine, a Dell laptop. Took it to them again. This time they couldn’t fix it on the spot, because they had to order the fan. Paid them for half the work up front and brought the machine back when the part came in. Once the part came in they finished the work same day while I waited in a Starbucks nearby. They also sold me a new battery for this machine(which was pretty close to also being dead). This time it was $ 145. Both machines still serve me well today. So this is a much better option than dropping several hundred on an unnecessary new machine at Best Buy. They aren’t always perfect customer service-wise. For instance I had to call them to see if my fan was in before they called me. But you have to understand that this is a small business which handles work on, from what I can see, a pretty good volume of machines. In the end they get the work done right at a reasonable price and that is what matters most.

Pushy people with terrible customer service. Called looking to see if they had an older processor because I have a motherboard that needs a BIOS upgrade before it can support the newest generation of processors. Was told I’d get a call back in 20 minutes regarding inventory. Got a call back from another guy who had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. I kind of felt like I was trying to explain to my non-technical mother what I was trying to buy. The guy could not fathom that I needed to put one processor in the board, do a bios upgrade, then I’d be able to use a newer processor with it. He said«So you’re trying to make a Cadillac out of a Yugo.» Then he decided to have an argument with me about«Celeron i3 processors» which absolutely don’t exist. He used terms like«Pentium Celeron Processor» and«Celeron i5» and other nonsense that just hurt my brain. When I gave up explaining it to him, and I even listed off all of the possible processors I could use, and just asked if he had any in stock, he told me to call«the big guy in charge» and gave me another phone number, assuring me that«This guy has all the degrees from all of the schools.» The guy I called immediately asked me which motherboard I had, and then proceeded to talk over me telling me that my problem isn’t the processor, completely ignoring my actual request. When I asked him to listen to what I was asking, he told me to call back tomorrow because«he has two stores and can check his inventory.» No thanks. I don’t deal with people who talk over me on the phone and would rather argue incorrect points than make a sale.

This guy is great. I’ve bought used laptops and computers as well as had them build me new desktops. They’ve also repaired bricked computers for me. I’m pretty price conscious and their prices are very good. They’re terrific on repairs.

I needed a new keyboard for my laptop as my ‘s’ key was on the fritz. I shopped around and the lowest quote I could find was $ 150. I went to Computer Zone and got my new keyboard for $ 45. Ahmed replaced it within 15 minutes. It works perfectly. I’m a happy camper.

Most times when I do any kind of electronics shopping I invest some time into looking at different products, reviews and ratings. Shopping around for the right price. This time I did none of that, I needed a general set of speakers for a laptop setup and rather than drive a few miles to a Micro Center or Best buy I just drove to the most convenient place I could think of. This is a computer sales and repair shop, they also have aftermarket parts and other electronics for use with your personal computer or lap top. At stores like these it’s not often that you’ll find the most brand new item or they may have it and they’ll have a cheaper alternative. In other words, there isn’t a wide selection and sometimes you may be buying outdated stuff. In my example I purchased a pair of decent speakers at a rate equivalent to the current popular style. However, later I learned that these speakers were an outdated style, the newer model had far better stats and that was a slight irritation. In the moment it didn’t matter, I needed them quickly and it was for convenience. Also if you could see the smile on the face of the store associate, it looked as if they hadn’t had many good sales that day. Always good to keep some pricing info in your head before making a purchase, also, never hurts to ask if you can haggle over the price.
