The entire atmosphere is very«old school» luxury. Meaning everything is gilded, the waiter has a french accent and walks around in a tuxedo with a napkin draped over his arm, all your food comes out on platters and the staff ceremoniously uncovers all the food at once so you can ooh and aah, etc. So if that’s your style then you’ll love the atmosphere. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for us, modern dining has progressed a lot in the last 50 years and that kind of stuff just isn’t enough anymore. Their menu obviously hadn’t changed in years and their food was uncreative. None of it was bad, but none of it was interesting, or good enough to be memorable. I could have been eating a meal made by the hyatt catering department and I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference. Still, if those were the only complaints, I probably would have given it 2 stars. It’s not really bad, but I wouldn’t go again, and wouldn’t recommend it to others. But what really drops it down to 1 is that I got food poisoning afterwards! I started feeling ill as soon as we left the restaurant. Then I went home and had fits of vomiting every half an hour for the next 8 hours or so. It was beyond horrible. I got a few hours of sleep, woke up for meetings in the morning, and felt 90% better. Apparently my gut was not happy until ever ounce of that food was expelled from my body. So, my review of the food: 2⁄5 My gastrointestinal system’s review of the food: 0⁄5 Averages out to: 1⁄5

The dining experience at the Club International is first class all the way. I am lucky to know someone who belongs and has taken me there many times over the years. The inside is grand yet warm and cozy with incredible views of Michigan Avenue. I enjoyed this atmosphere so much that I decided to have my wedding and reception here. And what an incredible wedding it was!(2005) The food is delicious and the martinis are generous. Any time I visit family in Chicago I am sure to visit Club International. I dined recently in July 2011, and checked in on Unilocal but perhaps I didn’t write a review soon enough. Still fantastic!

I eat here every month. You think I’d get bored, and sometimes I do. But most of the time I find the food here extremly delicious. I wish they still carried those little dessert tarts. They were always my favorites. Overall it’s very yummy, but the potatoes aren’t as good as the Cape Cod Room’s for some reason.

This is a dining club that has been in existence for years, but gleefully kept secret so that those who enjoy it, can enjoy it. It is located at the Drake Hotel and has great views of Michigan Avenue on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. Here is one more reason it is magnificent. The wait staff are extremely good without being annoying and hovering. I tend to look over a menu and select some combination that is totally off-menu, but contains elements of what is featured. I was able to do that, and was very pleasantly surprised that my dining experience was both satisfying and memorable.
