My face was bad. Full of curly hairs, ingrown hairs and bumpsI I had a laser consultation from a dermatologist who had been on the Oprah Show, her quote was $ 5K and an $ 80 jar of razor bump cream. guess what I was willing to pay! I was so desperate when a friend introduced me to Cassandra of Chicago Epilation. I had a free consultation, did I mention the laser consultation was $ 150. Cassandra gave a full assessment of my trouble areas, which were face and chest. She also removed a few hairs so that i could see what it felt like. She let me know the history of electrolysis and added the fact that its the only PERMANENT treatment. Sold!
I am African American so my hairs were coarse and curling into the skin… causing hyper-pigmentation…ugly dark marks. The terrible ingrown hairs were itchy and I would have to get a needle to pull them up to the skin causing more dark marks! Cassandra let me know that once the hairs were gone my face would clear up. After my very first appointment, I got a call from Cassandra checking up on my to see how I was feeling and to remind me to put on Vitamin E. I felt she really cared since this was all new to me. She even recommended facial products that were not a fortune. As I am at the end of my treatment all I can say is… Life Changing. My face looks amazing! I went to Cassandra McCabe for the first time this winter for electrolysis. I have had electrolysis before, but it has been years. I have been extremely pleased with the results – so far, the hair removal has been permanent (though granted it has only been a few months) – and also there were no red marks or any of the other concerns you might have with someone who doesn’t know what they are doing (although the bag of ice at the end of the session helps with a little redness that I get since I have fair skin, which goes away after 20 – 30 minutes). Cassandra is clearly a pro – she is quick and she seems to want to get rid of those pesky hairs as much as I do. The process can be somewhat painful, but I find it to be less painful than waxing, and definitely a bigger bang for your buck, given that this one doesn’t grow back. She also promptly returns calls, which is greatly appreciated. Another really great point is that she does both laser and electrolysis. As someone who has tried both (and have had laser not work because of my hair type), it’s really important to have a professional who will give you an honest opinion on which procedure will be effective based on your hair and skin type.
