I had a great experience with this lovely shop. I wanted a vintage engagement ring, something Edwardian or Art Deco and I really hit the jackpot here. I wanted to buy everything, necklaces, earrings too! Stephen was a delight to work with. He was patient, knowledgeable, never put pressure on the sale. I didn’t find exactly the perfect item the first time, and he emailed me some new items as they came available. I ended up with a stunning sapphire and diamond ring, something that I get compliments on all the time, and it’s uniquely mine, as are all the items here. The pricing is reasonable too, considering they only have above average quality pieces and there is something for every price range. So go browse, and buy a piece of history.

My(now) fiancé purchased my engagement ring here and both of us could not have been happier with the process. I knew I wanted an authentic antique ring(NOT replica as so many other jewelers suggested) and it isn’t the easiest thing in the world to find a shop with an extensive collection. We actually looked at some stores in NYC as well, but both fell in love with a ring here. Stephen was wonderful to work with. He made us feel comfortable and welcome, didn’t put on any pressure, and when I needed my ring sized down a bit, he had it ready for me within a handful of days. I was not part of the purchasing process, but my fiancé has said it was a great, stress-free experience. It has been a few months since our engagement and almost a year since first visiting Beverley R and I would still recommend it to everybody. We’ll be heading to the shop again soon to take a look at wedding band options for me. I will add that although we were only looking for engagement rings, the shop is full of lovely antique and vintage jewelry for all occasions. Also bonus: our first time at the shop, Stephen’s lovely wife Beverley was there along with their adorable dog!

Beverley R is lovely shop with a beautiful collection of vintage and antique jewelry. I had been shopping for an engagement ring for months, and after only a few minutes speaking with Stephen and Beverley I had found«the one» that fit the style and price point perfectly. They were caring and thoughtful all throughout the process, and the only jewelers I had spoken to in my search that were genuinely excited and congratulatory about our engagement, which made for a wonderful, welcoming experience overall. I highly recommend popping your head in if you’re on the hunt.

We had looked around the Michigan Avenue area for wedding bands and visited some of the major jewelers in the area. We saw some nice rings to complement my fiancé’s engagement ring, but she didn’t get the warm and fuzzy feeling that someone gets when they know they’ve found the right thing for them. These rings were also definitely pricey, which is expected when looking at new rings at a name brand store. Anyhow, we kept looking and today we decided to look at some estate jewelry, antique rings in platinum and diamonds with engraving that would also go really well with her engagement ring. I found one place around the area on Walton Street, it’s called House of Khan. We went there and met with Tobina Kahn, who showed us some rings and was very nice. They did not have anything in the store today that worked, and she was cool enough to tell us about Beverley R, just down the street next to the Drake Hotel. She told us to stop by there to check out their rings. We are so glad we did! We walked over, rang the door bell and met Stephen. He is a super great gentleman. I believe he said that he has been working with antique and estate jewelry for over 30 years, and has been in Chicago for the past couple of years. He said he’s originally from London, and we talked about that for a little while since we are going to London as part of our honeymoon. We looked at all of the beautiful rings he had, and each one of them was cool and unique. He explained to us that rings that have diamonds all the way around them cannot be resized, so when you are looking at estate or antique rings like this, you need to find one that you love and that fits you well. After spending about 40 minutes or so talking and trying on the rings, that warm and fuzzy feeling was obvious and we got a beautiful1930’s vintage wedding band ring made of platinum, with over 1.6 carats of diamonds all the way around it, and really amazing detailed engraving all around it. We even looked at it with a loupe and the detail was so cool. We are very happy with our experience today, and would definitely recommend Beverley R to anyone looking for great jewelry like engagement rings and wedding bands. I know that we will go back for sure to see Stephen when we want to get other jewelry. Jimmy — Humboldt Park
