My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant today. Great service upon entering, warm atmosphere with many young people, and overall everything went great! Their Thai iced tea, miso soup, Thai salad, and curry chicken were all yummy. We left feeling full! I noticed that this place had BYOB. Parking did seem a little scarce. It’s near a big intersection and at night it can look just a little sketchy. But, a pretty diverse area. Food pricing was reasonable. Would go again!

I’ve been here over 50+ times. It’s the closest Thai restaurant to my apartment and also my favorite(asides from Anna’s Asian Grill). I’ve been to others: Indie Café, Rice Thai, Jin, Summer. Ben’s Noodles has the best prices and Penny is the sweetest lady ever. Penny and Chris are the wife-husband duo of Ben’s Noodles, which is named after their son. You’ll find him at the restaurant helping his parents from time to time. I spent three months this year visiting family in Thailand and I grew up with Thai food. Ben’s Noodles is consistent and dishes aren’t too sweet. Their Pad Thai and Pad See Eew are my favorites. I have yet to find a Thai restaurant that is truly«authentic». You can’t get authentic Thai without real Thai ingredients. Ben’s lunch special includes soup, appetizer and an entrée for around $ 8. Their noodle dishes are ~$ 7.95, while other places charge $ 9.95 or more. The restaurant is small but I find that many people order takeout or delivery. I like to bring my friends here for an affordable, satisfying meal that is super convenient to the CTA.

This place is always exceptional. The service is unparalleled and I believe it to be the best Thai in the city. The crab Rangoon is a must have! The Pad Thai is unlike the limp lazy noodles you will see elsewhere. It is vibrant and alive!

Seeing the positive reviews made me excited to try this place, but I’ve given it two chances and it has totally let me down. The first time I got pad see ewe, and while it was edible, it had this vinegary taste that was unlike any pad see ewe I’ve had and wasn’t that pleasant. The sauce was also thin and somewhat soupy. I decided to give it another try and got the pad kee mao. This was probably the worst Thai dish I’ve ever had. It tasted like the entire dish was just straight vinegar, and was totally inedible. I saw basil in the dish but couldn’t taste it, and could barely taste the other ingredients. It was almost as if the whole thing had been pickling for a month. I’m not sure why this place douses everything in vinegar, but two tries are enough for me. There is much better Thai in uptown and edgewater.

Food is ok, not great but ok. Enough to make you go back. And we tried but then they got rude. Had a coupon for free delivery for orders over $ 18. They said that is not a real coupon. I said I have it here on their menu, which I have used before. I was told that was an old menu. When I said I got the menu 3 weeks ago I was told«that’s impossible». I said well there is no expiration on the coupon. They refused to honor. So I cancelled my order and ordered elsewhere. I would have paid the delivery fee if they showed some kind of flexibility and/or honored their own coupon. But when they insinuated I was a liar, that ended my desire to continue any patronage with them. I do not understand how they think that is how to keep customers, but maybe they do not want to keep customers. Next time honor the coupon collect and say we have increased our minimum. No big deal and you get to keep a customer. Goodbye Ben’s I will no longer suggest you.

I discovered a GEM! I love Thai cuisine, I adore efficient service, I appreciate high energy service delivered with a smile However, I applaud and write a 5 star review when the owners take special care to prepare my food according to my nutritional lifestyle requests. I stumbled upon this Thai restaurant while running errands with my daughter; who wanted me to try Blowfish. Well, fate stepped in and we parked right in front of Ben’s Noodles and Rice. Since, I love Thai curry and I am always willing to try a new restaurant, like a bee drawn to a beautiful flower — they had me at Thai. In my futile attempt to show some restraint, I walked in to just take a look. I was immediately greeted by the kind gentleman owner. He asked if I was ordering to go or would I be dining in today. I explained, I was just taking a look. Then the kind lady owner asked if I wanted to see the menu and encourage me to move towards the counter so that I could see the menu. I read the menu and she asked me what did I like, I told her my nutritional concerns and without hesitation she explained we can prepare a vegan meal for you. I received my food freshly prepared within 15 minutes, I paid, thanked her for the food(and their positive energy) and she said, «I hope you enjoy it». Well, I went home and shared the Green Curry(vegan style) with my husband and was in love. I could taste the coconut, the heat, the lemongrass, etc… it wasn’t to salty or sweet it was PERFECT! I could not stop thinking about that flavor and returned today for and encore, and they did not disappoint on my second visit.

Chris –the owner is super quick, awesome. he knows how far it takes in Red Line from Down Town he knows when i said i am near Belmont station he can figure out they are really flexible. It was awesome today — October 292015– they made a Veggie Fried rice really hot and spicy. They were quick to understand and take care of it. Very reasonable –it costed 8.95 or something like that. It is small place– but well maintained. The guy who serves also very nice guy. nice place in Brywn Mayr This is close to Red Line train. the Red Line runs between Howard and Downtown

I love this place. If I could give them 20 stars I would. The staff there is the some of the friendliest people ever. They always remember my face and wave to me as I walk by sometimes. As for food, I crave it all the time. I normally get the sweet and sour chicken and I love the sauce and mix of veggies that they put into it. My fiancé normally gets the chicken fried rice and loves that as well. Prices are reasonable. My fiancé and I can walk out of there for under $ 20. Keep up the great service !

Lovely Thai restaurant. Owner is very kind and pleasant. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. steps from the Bryn Mawr red line. Bike parking right out front. Really good selection of menu items. My usual go to is the chicken fried rice. It’s simple, but they do it up good.

Excellent!!! I had Pad Se Ew(vegetarian) and it was excellent. I love asian food but my one complaint is if it is too salty. This food was perfectly seasoned. I love the small but simple dining area and the staff was perfect. Can’t wait to return to Chicago to eat here again!

I’ve ordered from here a number of times and have had a good experience each time. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast. Their pad see eew is amazing and does not disappoint. Their panang curry is decent but a bit watery. Their pad Thai is also good but I’ve definitely had better. Overall this place is great for when you want a cheap, quick bite :)

Closed on Wednesdays. We had an early dinner tonight(Tuesday) at Ben’s. Parked right in front in a pay spot. The restaurant was neatly decorated and clean, and the service was really good. We had the Papaya Salad($ 5.95), Panang Curry with chicken($ 8.50), Pad Kimao with beef($ 7.75) and the Mango Sticky Rice($ 4.95). I thought the food quality was excellent, especially considering the reasonable prices on everything. Not a big deal, and I hesitate to mention it, but the only thing that wasn’t great were the tomatoes in the salad and the noodle dish. They were very unripe and would have been better left out. We definitely will be back!

We ordered delivery from Ben’s through their online system and were happy with the food. We got pad thai, pad woon sen, a green curry, a red curry, and the beef basil entrée. Also, with orders of $ 25 or more, you get a free appetizer(choose from either: egg rolls, pot stickers, or edamame). We ordered the pot stickers and this was my least favorite part of the meal. They tasted very plain and like they were previously frozen; not homemade. Overall, it’s good Thai food but nothing was spectacular. I think we’ll need to try the other places in the area to see how they stack up but we would definitely still repeat at Ben’s based on our first experience. Only complaint: the price. At $ 8.50 average per dish, and some dishes pushing $ 12, this is some of the more expensive Thai food we’ve had from a local, neighborhood spot. With tax and tip, the per person price was around $ 13, which to me seems really high for Thai delivery. 3 out of 5 stars for good food, nice, courteous delivery service, and OK overall value.

This is one of our usual go to places for Thai food and usually quick and good… Until tonight! Ordered online… One hour passes(they usually don’t take even that long). Call. «It’s on it’s way, should be there shortly.» Two hours pass. Still no food. Call. «We had two people not show up in the kitchen…» So basically the food has taken hours to arrive, and was lied to by the restaurant. Really sh*tty work Ben. (Finally arrived 2 hours 15 minutes…) There’s too many good Thai places in the city to deal with crap.

I absolutely loved the pad thai! the location was very convenient and it took less than 10 minutes to pick up my takeout order. This was my first time here so I was a little anxious but the food was up to Par and simply delicious. I am vegetarian and they were able to substitute the egg with the tofu in the pad thai which was a delight. A delicious meal! I would definitely come again.

Good food and great service. It’s my neighborhood joint and have gone there a couple of times. Loved the pad thai! I am huge fan of curries but did not find their curries to be that great. I’d stick to their noodle choice. Their thai custard is pretty darn good though! Will go back!

While in the Bryn Mawr area, I had intentions of going for Indian food. But seeing Ben’s Noodles and Rice off to the side, I stopped in instead so see how they fare with their Thai offerings. Tom yum goong. Basil rolls. Pananag curry chicken. Fried banana. I haven’t had tom yum goong that I didn’t like. I loved it at Ben’s Noodles and Rice. The basil rolls were a switch from the usual mini egg rolls. Ground beef wrapped in basil leaves and then fried in a light pastry, yep, these were perfect. The panang curry had a thin base, but it was packed with flavour. Not wanting to do the usual Thai custard or mango with sticky rice, I ordered fried banana and green tea for my finale. Wow!!! I noticed a lot of people coming in for take-away orders. Clearly, the restaurant is a favourite among the locals in the Bryn Mawr/Broadway vicinity. I understand fully.
