Benny’s Pizza

I was in Chicago for a week and a half and had the Benny’s three late nights. It was perfect. Great price, great sauce, crispy crust and cheese was perfectly melted.
Whole house of people I stayed with loved the Benny’s. Also the guys who work there are really polite. Rare for cheap pizza joints!
Tip Benny nice!

Isn’t the owner the same guy who declared bankruptcy at his car wash and got out of paying his workers? won’t be eating here anymore.

Ordered a sausage, pep, and green pepper fam. Size with cheese fries.
They laid on serious cheese on the pizza ¹⁰⁄₁₀. Good crispy crust, what stood out was the quality and the price was just right. Hit this place up! The cheese fries were good too

I’ve been eating Benny’s many many years and it’s always a hot cheesy and a fluffy pizza dough. A Pilsen gem that is a must try!

On the nights I don’t have time to cook or it’s late night after the bar, Benny’s is perfect! The price is right and it’s good comfort food.

Staff is nice! Pizza is delicious! Once they missed my order and apologized by giving me the pizza half off! They rush when they see you in a rush and are always friendly!

Ok so where do I start. I have gone to Benny’s pizza since I use to live around the neighborhood for almost 18 years. During that time Benny’s was the like the only pizza joint around there when coming out of Juarez. With that being said about 3 – 4 months I stopped by cause I had a doctors appointment, pregnant & I was around the neighborhood. So, I was like ok I think I’ll get me some Benny’s pizza & take some for my lunch. Man I was disappointed with the pizza. Like, really really disappointed that on my way to work I was so close to tossing it. But, I didn’t because I don’t like to waste so I decided to give it my husband. The pizza is not the same as what I remember it like. It has been like roughly about 15 years because I’m all grown up & moved on. But, I can remember it like yesterday how it use to taste. The pizza tastes dry & the bread is too thick, not enough pizza sauce. I live in summit now & they just opened up a Benny’s pizza. So, I decided to give it a try because I was disappointed with Benny’s on 18^th & it’s the same owner. To my surprise the pizza is very delicious & full of flavor. Today, 12/​19/​2015 I spoke to the owner because he happened to there & I told him that Benny’s on 18^th is not the same & is lacking. He totally agreed with me & asked to call the person in charge to bring it to his attention & I’m like wait a minute aren’t you the owner he said yeah but I tell them that but they don’t believe me. I make them change it back to how it once use to be but when I’m out the door they change it to how they want it to. But, I highly recommend Benny’s on summit new location. Sorry Benny’s on 18^th but you have to change back to how it was once before & I remembered it.

I was in line at Thalia Hall across the street for the 9pm Dave Chapelle show yesterday. It was only 7:15pm. It was freezing, I was hungry and I still had two more hours!
Benny’s seemed like the quickest, most financially sound and logical choice.
Now, full disclosure, I didn’t have high hopes going in. I’m no pizza snob… wait…maybe I am… a little bit… so I knew I wasn’t gonna get a great pizza by the slice like I do at Pie Eyed.
When you order, you can see the full kitchen. Cleanliness is kinda questionable. The main dude taking orders was also making food, and I’ll be honest I didn’t see him washing his hands between there.
There was plenty of seating… a couple random holes in the wall. But this place seems to be a local staple. The delivery guy kept going in and out with non-​stop orders. Good on them.
Also the pizza by the slices were way too thick. All bread. Personally, I like my pizza by the slices thinner. The whole pies are thin crust. It’s a shame their pizza by the slices aren’t!
I probably wouldn’t visit again. But if you find yourself in a predicament that I was in… you’re cold and hungry… Benny’s is convenient. I was full for the rest of the night.

Everything was just fine until about about two years ago. Then they started to undercook the pizza. Even if I order it well done, they may or may not actually cook it longer. I’d they do, it comes out fine. If they cook it like they normally do, the cheese isn’t even fully melted. My problem is that there’s no other decent alternatives in pilsen. If there were, we would have pulled the plug a while back.

It is late and you are looking for something quick, easy, and cheap to help soak up all that beer, «Hello Benny’s!» The service at the counter was easy, friendly, and quick. The slice was generous, so you might be able to share with another depending on how hungry everyone actually is. Thanks for being there to hook me up Benny.

AMAZING pizza in the pilsen area. pick up only. the four stars is based off the food at a dive rating. service is meh…

We ordered delivery and got pizza with cheese sticks. The service was good and they arrived on time. The quality was pretty good for the price. I especially liked how much cheese they put. The only thing that threw us off was the pizza came in a bag, not a box. Pretty weird! I could see the grease, which wasn’t pleasing to the eyes. The pizza wasn’t completely cut, so we had to improvise. And the crust was a bit thick and not crispy like we prefer. It was more chewy than anything. Still unsure if we’d order again.

Their pizza is gooood! Simple neighborhood pizza with a crisp crust and gooey cheese and tasty sauce. Great pricing and great friendly delivery. Love it! Skip the fried mushrooms though, they always seem to be undercooked.

I tried Benny’s based off of the recommendation of my friend who grew up in the Pilsen neighborhood. He said, «Benny’s has the best pizza in Pilsen.» I stand by his words. Benny’s has since been my stop to fulfill my pizza cravings.
*Pizza slices are $ 2.50
*Don’t be fooled by the «small» in small pizza, it’s big enough to feed three normal men.

Good classic Chicago pizza. Benny’s is consistently good. Delivery is average despite the proximity to their location. We order from there are never disappointed.

This place used to be okay. Now that they struggle with getting a simple order right, I must say that it’s not worth the cheap price.

Benny’s is the spot!!! I grew up with this and continue to make the trip to pick up pizza from here. Best pizza in the Pilsen-​UIC area.

It is delivery and it is Digorno. I really think they cooked a frozen pizza and delivered it to us. You really are paying for the delivery of the pizza, not the pizza.
And this was my poor boyfriend’s first glimpse at Chicago (we are from KC). Such a bummer.

I got a slice of sausage, fries and garlic bread, nothing special but it wasn’t bad, the bread was kinda hard
