A great low key restaurant with an awesome selection of beers. The staff is really nice and the burgers are delicious (and cheap!)

Top 3 burger joint in Chicago along with Small Cheval (Au Cheval) and Patinos Grill.
On top of the excellent burgers, they have a simple yet perfected menu. My girlfriend had the grilled cheese and it was awesome.
There is a cute patio in back where you can eat n smoke n hang out! The Long Room bar itself is chill and has a good crowd.

I walk passed the long room every day and I had always wanted to try it. Yesterday, my roommate and I went and I couldn’t have been happier. I have never written a review in my life but I had such a great experience, I had to! From the atmosphere to the staff to the patio, everything was amazing! We are so happy that we have such a great place so close to where we live. The food was outstanding. Best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. The fries and side salad were great. I really don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a restaurant before. Everything was so affordable. I could seriously go on forever. Obviously going back. Customer for life!

Their burgers rule! Mine was perfectly cooked with delicious cheese and awesome sauce — tender and juicy. I’m wishing for another one today. Fried pickles are awesome, they go great with the beers. If you like sour, try the pickled spicy egg too — a great bar snack. Annnnnnnnnd poutine! It’s the best around so don’t let that gravy train pass you by.
Yes, I probably gained 5 pounds last night. Totally worth it.

Really disappointed in this meal tonight. I was extremely excited to try their Half-​Pint burger to the point that I ate a smaller lunch just so I could eat this burger on a empty belly and finish it.
The counter gent was extremely friendly and I felt a mutual understanding when I ordered my burger medium-​rare with an egg on it. He had even used the words «runny» and «pink» which is exactly how I like burgers cooked.
I loved that their way of letting you know your food was ready was with a text message which makes for an easy notification when you’re at a understandably loud bar. I got my text at 9:44PM saying my food would be ready in 15 minutes. At 10:00 PM my phone blew up saying my burger was ready. When I arrived at the counter, no one was there to greet me and two employees (not the original counter gent) literally looked me straight in the eye and then looked away. I was very turned off by this. Why didn’t they let the counter guy know I was there? Why didn’t they greet me?
When I got my burger I cut it down the middle to only see that it was well done. Seeing as I had been looking forward to this burger all day, I brought it back. This is always a horrible feeling for everyone involved, but the dudes here seemed cool so I thought they’d understand. I asked if they could remake it medium-​rare to which counter gent gave me some poor excuse for how I didn’t come when I received the text «5 minutes ago» and how the burger must have turned brown from sitting at the counter. I have time stamps on my phone. I got there right when you texted me.
The second burger was just the same. I was crushed. I passed the burger to my friends who all have worked at burger joints in the city and they replied, «that’s definitely well done».
I get that medium-​rare might be difficult, but don’t ask me how I want it cooked if you can’t deliver. Really unfortunate.
Go across the street to the 24hour Diner. They’re cheaper, quicker and don’t make promises they can’t keep.

I always get the Cuban sans pickles; delicious! Salty fries, yum. Great and very well curated little menu.
This is kind of like an indoor food truck… don’t expect full table-​service, etc. they will text you when your order is up! Fun and easy.
The Long Room is a cool hangout for drinks while you’re waiting or eating. Drink specials most nights.

The burger here is one of my favorites in Chicago. Ridiculously good and I highly recommend adding an egg if you’re into that kinda thing.
Regular fries are great and come with an excellent dipping sauce, poutine is amazing, and they also have my favorite fried pickles I’ve had in the city. Oh and I had a bite of my friend’s mac & cheese last time I was there and I nearly died.
Also didn’t know a spicy pickled egg was a thing that’d actually be good but it was because apparently you can’t go wrong with anything on this menu.

These fellas need to get recognized. I used to think of Long Room as a decent dive bar with an above-​average atmosphere and an impressive beer selection. Now, thanks to the presence of B&B, I think of it as «the place I have to talk myself out of going to for dinner every night.»
The standard burger is one of my favorites in Chicago — right up there with Dryhop and Owen and Engine. Imagine the «classic» at Umami Burger but better; the butterkäse is legit. They also offer a rotating special burger that has been fully on point every time I’ve opted for it.
Also — the poutine. C’MON NOW.
Add to that the staff is super friendly, the prices are more than reasonable, and the fact that you get to enjoy your burger with one of Long Room’s superb selection of craft drafts? Like I said, it’s hard not to go here. Go. Tell your friends.

I had the Hot Ham and Cheese (name might be wrong). It had this amazing tomato jam and was on toasted bread. It.Was.SO.GOOD. I also had the fries which were very tasty as well. The chef/​owner was very friendly and told me why it’s called The Beard & Belly (he has a beard). I highly recommend eating here if you’re visiting The Long Room.

Delicious food and a great beer selection make this a spot to keep coming back to. The burgers are made perfectly and the fries are finger licking. Poutine fries and any of the burgers are what I would recommend to start with. I am going to try the chili the next time I go back.

Went here when they first opened and the food was amazing!!! It was out fast and really good quality. You can’t go wrong with anything, but the Cuban was so good!
