Stopped by craving a dog, but left with a salad(classic bait and switch). The Santa Fe salad sounded good, and tasted as I imagined it. The black beans, corn, and salsa add some all around flavor and increase the nutritional value. But don’t worry, because you can slather it in ranch dressing if you want(I only used about ½ portion and still got good coverage). The chicken was grilled to order, with a nice sear and very aromatic. Left satisfied and in better spirits since it was a healthier meal.

Soo, I’ve been here twice. The first time went well enough to warrant a second visit. Now, I did the exact same thing on the second visit as I did on the first– same smile, greeting, order etc. However, it did not go well. I didn’t check my order before leaving and I also opted to go to the restroom, which is too close to the cooking area for my tastes and not very tidy. In fact, had I visited the restroom first, I wouldn’t have bought anything. At. All. The service was extremely meh, my order was wrong and my burger was aesthetically displeasing(see photos). I can’t speak on the taste because I didn’t eat it. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

Pay the extra $.79 to get the natural dog which is made from grass fed beef! The hot dogs were delicious with just the right snap. Loved the Chicago dog. Yum!

This place comes as part of the Fooda service to my office every few weeks. Earlier this year, I discovered the BBQ chicken sliders and they are FANTASTIC. Honestly, they are better than a lot of the BBQ places that also come here. So imagine my disappointment when I got in line today and found they had changed their menu and no longer had the sliders. All they had were hotdogs and grilled chicken that looked dead. They didn’t even have BBQ sauce for the grilled chicken. Plus, the Fooda menu still had the sliders listed, which wasn’t consistent with the offerings. Please bring back the sliders!

Absolutely amazing food! My family and I walked 30 minutes and it was well worth it. The place was clean and all the servers were very nice. We had the Chicago Dog, bacon Cheddar burger, and grilled chicken sandwich. We also got a New Orleans dog to go

Wanted to try a Chicago dog so I fell into this place as they had veggie dogs & sweet potato fries. Again it’s okay & I wouldn’t try it again unless I went back for the sweet potato fries

In search of the infamous Chicago dog, I looked on my trusty Unilocal app, and saw that America’s Dog was listed as one of the top 10 restaurants. Once we got there, I realized it was a chain restaurant, and began to feel skeptical, but was too hungry to care. Looking at the menu, it was neat how they offered hot dogs from different cities in the U.S. We ordered the Chicago dog and New Orleans dog. Chicago dog: bun and meat ratio was off, and they didn’t use Vienna sausage :( New Orleans dog: chicken sausage tasted too smokey, and was almost bitter. As this was my first Chicago dog experience, I didn’t have much to compare to. But once I had a chance to try another Chicago dog elsewhere, I felt the ones at America’s Dog were lacking in quality.

Nice collection of hot dogs from all over America. All the food was delicious, quick, and reasonable. It is a chain, so it has a very assembly line feel to it. But, I wouldn’t knock it til you try it. Definitely a great stop for tourists!

Great variety of city dogs to pick and choose from, but let’s be honest, the Chicago dog is clearly the«Top Dog»(no pun intended). The components(garden ingredients) are good and fresh in the Chicagoa Dog, but they lose a couple of stars for using Tallgrass beef dogs instead of Vienna beef and for being a bit pricey for a hot dog that you can get for $ 2 at any other hot dog stand in the city. Tallgrass beef dogs are actually really good but it lacks the snap of a Vienna beef hot dog. Also, surprised there isn’t a Detroit Coney Dog on the menu(my other go-to when I’m not craving a Chicago dog). Will be back to try the Memphis.

I know I live in Chicago and I actually do love a Chicago dog i just wasn’t in the mood for that when I stopped by American Dog for lunch. Instead I opted for the Greek chicken wrap. I was there around 11:45 and there wasn’t many people there yet. It took them about 10 minutes to prepare my wrap(cook my chicken which was nice to see it wasn’t pre cooked and dried out). All in all it was a pretty tasty Greek wrap. Flavorful ingredients etc. My one word of caution is that it is extremely messy. The dressing caused the wrap to break down pretty quickly and I had dressing running down my hands while I tried to finish it.

Eating a Chicago style dog while in town was a must. Stopped here because it was nearby and had good reviews. We were not immediately served though first in line and all of the tables in the small store were not bussed due to being understaffed. I ordered the Chicago style dog that had pickles, peppers, tomato, mustard, onions, and celery salt on a poppy seed bun. It was an amazing combination. Though messy, it tasted great! The fries were steaming hot and very good. I would recommend this to someone looking for a good hot dog. All of the hot dogs on the menu are city themed in case you are not craving Chicago style.

I had nothing but the highest of hopes when I arrived here with two of my coworkers, all of us super hungry! I ordered the Chicken Pita, which was listed as a bestseller and consisted of grilled chicken, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce on a pita — nothing crazy. I was told that it would be a 10 minute wait — no problem, especially when I saw that they were grilling my chicken fresh for me. However. I arrived back to my office and unwrapped my pita and was immediately disappointed. Tons of onions, a few wilted pieces of lettuce, and — worst of all — the chicken was grilled in a way that the outside was so crispy it felt like a bone. Like, with every bite, I thought I had bitten into a bone. My coworkers had similar feelings about their choices. On top of all of this, one of my coworkers ordered the same thing as me with a side salad(which is an extra charge), and she was charged less than me… so there’s that. While I’ve visited other locations and had a great experience, from now on I’ll be sticking with the hot dogs!

My coworkers and I decided to stop here for lunch with high hopes for a good quick meal. Our first mistake was probably not getting a hot dog(since I assume their flagship item has to be good). I ordered the chicken pita and was very disappointed, as was my coworker who ordered the same thing. The texture of the chicken was very strange, and I had a few pieces of hard fat on the meat that gave it a really displeasing texture. Another coworker ordered a burger, which was way too heavy on the mustard. She ended up taking off the top bun to eat the rest of her burger. Additionally, the coworker who ordered the same menu item as I did was charged more than me, despite my addition of a side salad to my meal(which is a $ 0.99 upcharge). I did appreciate that everything is made to order – my chicken was thrown on the grill right when I placed my order. The restaurant is clean and the staff was really friendly. They also have Spring Rewards here(which I am all about lately), so I think I’ll give it another shot and try their hot dog in hopes that it’s better than what I got the first time.

I purchased the 3 groupon deal for this place and used all 3, ordering a Chicago dog, a turkey burger, and a chicken sandwich. They made for good lunches, and the fries are quite tasty– as well as their onion rings. It wasn’t anything overly special and I would have never come here without the groupons and I doubt I’ll ever return, but I have no regrets about having been here in the first place. The food and service were just fine. If you’re craving a hot dog with accessories and you’re in the area, why not?

While they offer a Chicago Dog they also offer regional style dogs from across the country. This location is close to Millennium Park and State Street. Other than that there is nothing special to write home about. This is a quick service style restaurant with some standard seating and not very enthusiastic service. If you need a quick bite this will satisfy but so will lots of other places…

I was promised an amazing Chicago style hot dog, I was given a salty, vinegary, chewy. thing. My understanding is this place«competes» with places like«hot doug’s» and in my opinion there is zero competition there. Hot Doug’s provides the promised freshness, flavor, and excitement. America’s Dog does not. The place is clean, the service seems friendly, it’s the food that is disappointing. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend it either.

During a visit to Chicago, I was CRAVING a hot dog and used Unilocal to find America’s Dog. This hot dog was everything I was dreaming of: hot, tasty, and delicious. I ordered the dog that had BBQ sauce and coleslaw and devoured it in .02 seconds flat. The employees were friendly and that dog was mmmm mmmm good. Thanks America’s Dog for satisfying a craving.

A fast food joint that I’m giving 4 stars? Yeah, that just happened. It may not be on the list of the 10 best places to get a Chicago Dog in the city & greater Chicagoland area, but America’s dog definitely held up to par. Making fun of the Chicago Dog idea, America’s dog has created countless varieties of other famous city style dogs. I had to go original and get me a Jumbo Chicago Dog and if we didn’t walk out when we did, I would have been ordering more. Oh and the cheese fries… well they were extraordinary and the perfect size for sharing. Everything may be bigger in Texas, but compared to New York, Chicago is «Go big or go home!»
