I have been going to Rudy Alfaro for 15 years for my cut and color. And I stuck with him even when his location moved and wasn’t quite as convenient for me — worth it to stay when you find somebody who gets it right. We always discuss approach every time I am in for an appointment. He makes recommendations on how to adjust my color, and always listens to what I want. I almost always love my color. The very few times over 15 years that something wasn’t quite right, he works with me to fix it. It would be difficult for me to go to anybody else at this point!

This was by far my least favorite hair cut… He basically made fun of my previous hair cut and said he would «transform me»… Turns out to him that means A LOT of nasty feather layers and the Rachel look from friends. I asked for a long bob and he said I needed movement so he cut a bunch of layers that don’t blend at all. Very arrogant vibe from him and not at all a positive experience. I didn’t hate the highlights he did but not absolutely crazy about them either. Ooooo and my bangs! They look like the original American girl dolls bangs. Awful!

I have hard to handle and style, very fine hair. Rudy is the only stylist EVER that has managed to thrill me walking out of his salon. It’s just a one man show and I love the attention I receive from him. A great stylist and a great conversationalist too. Love him!

I just had my hair colored and cut at Alfaros Hair Design. I was very pleased with the results. I was impressed with the personalized service I
recieved. Rudy took the time to discuss my concerns and gave me the cut I have been wanting for a long time. The salon is not about having a snobby attitude or unreasonable fees for services. It has a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Rudy is friendly and down to earth, he knows how to treat his clients. I would recommend Alfaro Hair Design to all of you who are looking for a great salon.

It seems like there are one million and one hair salons within a 10 block radius on Belmont. I’ve been to several of them. My favorite, however, is Alfaro Hair Design. It’s totally unpretentious and very reasonably priced. That being said, Rudy, (the owner and master stylist) could charge a lot more. He’s truly awesome. This guy knows how to cut and color hair. He has done a far better job on me and my family/​friends than the other more «luxurious» salons. Not only is he a gifted stylist, but he’s excellent in the customer service department. (Something that many of these other salons lack.)
I have sent at least 8 people to him, and every one of them is thrilled.
