This liquor store, although not huge, is so perfectly located that I can’t not give it 4 stars. It is located right next to my train stop. Although I do not normally need to grab alcohol before getting on a train, I have been in a scenario many can probably relate to: bad day at work, get on the packed train home, end up standing right next to a screaming child, and I’m now wearing the least attractive expression known to man. What happens when I hop off? I immediately go buy myself a 6 pack of my favorite cider from Addison Liquors to congratulate myself for not smacking anyone. Although I prefer wine, I would not recommend this store for the wine selection(even though they have some surprisingly solid choices in a pinch). However, they have a great selection of ciders which are my favorite after wine – usually in the back(I walk straight to the back every time I go). As a plus, they often have wine samples and the people who work here have to be some of the nicest I’ve ever encountered. So, if you’re in the area and are just thinking to yourself that you might need a drink or six in your apartment paired with your favorite TV show, this place has good prices and service that will have you leaving with a better mood than when you entered.

I just moved into the hood about a month ago and I’ve already made multiple trips here. It definitely looks like a dingy, scuzzy liquor store, but the guy that works the register here is so nice! As my out-of-town visitor stated, ‘He is the happiest liquor store employee I have ever seen!’ He is always super friendly with a huge smile on his face. Their inventory lacks a little as they don’t carry more than a 12-pack of bottles in my brand o’ beer, but other than that I love this place! Their friendly, welcoming customer service makes up for it!

Is it too much to ask for some mixers? *shrugs* I don’t know. But not everyone buys a bottle of Hennessy and drinks it out of the bottle for the whole night into the early morning… oh wait, I’m in Wrigley. Hide that bottle before Kanye catches wind… I swear. That’ll be my one and only KW joke. And it’s been a few weeks now, right? I knoooow. I’m so bad. I was on my way to a party nearby, and it was in the most convenient location. Right next to the Addison Red line. Prices were fairly decent given the locale. Hooray!!! … right? Beer, beer, and not even a decent selection of hard liquor. Oh, and no mixers. None. Not sold out. Just don’t have any. Unless you want to make Margaritas. If you’re visiting friends near the area and you want to make a last minute stop for some booze, please bear in mind that the selection is abysmal by even the most lazy boozer’s standards. And there are no mixers to beyond your juices for any hard liquor you purchase from behind the counter.

When I get off the train and don’t want to hassle w/getting my beer and liquor this is the spot. Usual liquor store prices and right under the El(next to a taco stand too so bonus points!). I was so excited that this was one of the few stores in Chicago that began carrying Shiner Bock when it came to the city! and at a reasonable price too. The only thing I hate is that you have to spend over $ 10 to pay with a credit card which when I buy a 6 pack of Summer Ale doesn’t work out, so fine… through in a small bottle of Captain Morgan… no wait… at that price might as well go up to the larger one, more worth the money. Dammit! I’ve been had again! Only down sides are — this place is fully of sweaty disgusting Cubs fans on game day for hours before and after. But that’s life in Wrigleyville! And the guy that works here has zero personality. None. You say ‘hi, how’s it going?’ you barely get a grunt if anything. One time he asked me how I was doing and I about fell on the floor. Since then, nothing… but it’s right there under the El and if I’m feeling lazy and ride to Addison instead of taking a nice walk from Belmont(stopping at Gold Crown Liquors on this walk) then this is the place for me!
