Usually I get a sandwich or breakfast, but this time opted for a salad. It was so-so. I ordered a Mediterranean Salad, and the veggies were just stacked on top of each other, with nothing mixed. The veggies were fresh though. The breakfast is great, and won’t take a bite out of your wallet. I’ve enjoyed the variety of sandwiches they offer.

The sandwich was delicious, and the service was excellent. This is one of the only inexpensive options in Friendship Heights beside inside the mall food court(McDonald’s, which sucks).

It was noting spectacular. The atmosphere is sterile and plain. The deli sandwiches are average. Service was average. A lot to choose from on the menu. And the service was average. A lot food on the big plate. The prices are average. The drinks are expensive. Nothing exceptional. The food was good and average. The atmosphere was for the one star rating. Came with a group of people.

Stopped in spontaneously on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised to find Frozenyo froyo and a selection of deli options and beers. The pitchers were only $ 7 and we got Goose Island IPA. I also got the Frozenyo, though they only had 2 flavored available and one was a bit liquidy. The toppings were also laid out in a confusing way so I didn’t realize there were more options and there weren’t any spoons in the toppings. I also ordered the hummus which came with warm pita bread for only $ 5, not the best hummus I’ve had but it was a good deal. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a chill place around Friendship Heights to hang out with a group.

The chicken rico is out of this world. I only come here for that sandwich. The other sandwiches are good too but the chicken rico is bomb. I also like the special of the day. The fact that they own the froyo next door is def. a plus.

If you’re looking to grab something quick to eat, this place is great. They’re pretty friendly and the food comes out fast. I’ve had the chili here multiple times, as well as the spinach salad. I haven’t tried any of the sandwiches but the ones I’ve seen look pretty good. I come here when I’m in Chevy Chase.

I don’t want to give you even one star for this restaurant. First, the dining hall was very dirty. Tables and chairs were so dirty. Of course, ground, too. Second, I ordered a coffee and when I tried to pour from the coffee dispenser they didn’t have even one drop left so I had to ask for it and wait for 10 mins. Third, I ordered ahi tuna salad. Tuna was very fishy and all the vegetable cutting was messy and too chunky. Fourth, restrooms were filthy. I used the restroom and I already lost appetite. Considering the value I have, foods were way too expensive. This was a horrible experience and I urge people not to come to this restaurant.

A great place in friendship heights to grab a sandwich or a gyro. The menu has a lot to choose from and the workers are all very nice. A bit overpriced but still a great little place.

It’s been years since I’ve been here and just happened to drop in after a busy day of shopping. It has a very old-fashioned vibe that’s reminiscent of childhood. Service was good and the young lady helping me was super patient during my indecisiveness! Burgers and fries always make me smile!

This place is was super hyped by one of my co-workers. I’ve had lunch here a few times and I honestly tried to like it because it’s so close to work. Unfortunately, it just Meh. Bottom line: The food is fresh but the overall quality and taste is average at best.

This review is only addressing sanitary conditions of this location. It is attached to Frozen-Yo. As I was standing in Booeymonger waiting for my lunch to go today(8÷18÷15), I watched as a male employee with short hair on the sides and long on top with a yellow t-shirt picked rotten blueberries out of a big container he was prepping for the toppings bar at Frozen-Yo. He was touching his face and running his hands through his hair while hand picking bad blueberries from the container he was about to bring out to the toppings bar at Frozen-Yo. He wasn’t wearing gloves, just his bare hands. If he thought one was bad he would pick it up, play with it in his hand to inspect it, and if it passed inspection he would put it back in the container to be used as a topping for frozen yogurt at the toppings bar. Booeymonger is already extremely gross and dirty inside with food on the floor everywhere and the ceiling is a completely different story. Nobody should be handling food with their bare hands when everyone else is wearing gloves, and especially not in this environment. I have already reported this to the health department for inspection. Do not eat the blueberries or any other produce from Booeymonger or Frozen-Yo. This is unacceptable and disgusting.

Good non-national chain place to get a sandwich quickly, if you’re into that like me. They are pretty good with customizing any of their sandwiches. Daily special is usually a good, fresh deal. I had a big lightly fried tilapia sandwich with fries(that I swapped out for chickpea salad) for 8.50 once. Only con is that once they refused to serve my friend beer because he hadn’t gotten his license changed to horizontal, even after producing multiple forms. Also, the manager can be seen yelling at the register workers in full view of customers. I feel bad for them! They’re always nice and patient when you’re trying to figure out your order, so not sure when his problem is.

Done shopping in busy Chevy Chase? Need a break(probably food) before shopping again or going into AMC and watching a movie? If you’re on a budget and can’t afford that fancy steakhouse that’s probably $ 80 a head, but need to eat, then Booeymonger is for you. Booeymonger is super family friendly and a great place to get a quick bite to eat and go. There’s a ton of options from salads to bagels to sandwiches(aka make your own). I was simple and opted for the Upper Manhattan(haha, I had just come from there too…) sandwich. If you order their special($ 1 – 2 more, I believe) then comes with a drink(yes, they have iced tea, thank you and hallelujah for all my non-soda drinkers), a pickle, and potato wedges. To be quite honest with you, the turkey was quite dry, but the bread was warm and toasted well. I wasn’t exactly expecting a fancy sandwich or anything, but it’s worth what you paid for it. If you love options and cheap food(who doesn’t), then this spot is for you. Plus, they close at midnight.

A truly disappointing lunch at Booeymonger. Here’s the rundown: 1. The Duke. Tasty combo of flavors, but built badly. Who makes a hot steak and cheese sandwich and puts the cheese side down on top of lettuce? The entire thing collapsed on me and I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. It also arrived soggy, not a plus. 2. Chicken salad. Fine but by no means a special experience. 3. Cottage cheese. Had something in it that was not cottage cheese. 4. Tortellini salad. Almost entirely unseasoned and un-dressed. Basically a cup of plain pasta. 5. Broccoli salad. Decent but over-dressed. The place itself could be cleaner, the bathroom needs repair work(wall cracks, cheap fixes, etc.). Overall, I was really kind of bummed — especially as I remember Booeymonger from years back as a much more reliably good experience.

I got the Californian for lunch today, first time there. It was crazy loud and chaotic in there. The line was pretty long, but moved quickly. The sandwich was pretty good. The chicken salad in it was too mayonnaise-y, which overpowered the avocado. Since the avocado was pretty much the reason I chose that sandwich, that was too bad. I would try another sandwich from them, though. The reasons they are not getting a higher rating from me yet: — The noise level. Holy cow! There must be a way to lower that. I have been to plenty of places that were just as busy and didn’t make me wish I had ear plugs! — Too. Much. Mayo. — It wasn’t pricey, but the cost was higher than the value in my opinion. — Only one vegetarian option, which didn’t sound very good. As I said, I’ll try it again, so it was not all bad. Maybe the next sammich I get there will be aaaahmazing and I’ll give them a new review with another star.

Booeymonger, you will always have a place in my childhood memory, but have lost your place in my adulthood. Once known for their delicious sandwiches and wraps, salads, and crispy potato wedges, they are no longer the same place that was institutionalized by the residents of Chevy Chase. I remember eating here for lunch at least 3 times a week with my father, ordering their delicious turkey, sprout, avocado sandwich on fresh French bread, breakfast platters with incredible home fries, the booeywrap chock full of juicy, flavorful chicken and feta cheese. Since I was in the area, I decided to give their Booeywrap a spin since the taste is still embedded in my brain. First bite, hot, flavorful, crunchy? I thought they had put bacon in my wrap, but it was disgusting BURNT chicken. Like the kind that you scrape off the burner to the side. The rest of the chicken was really dry and overcooked. This was not an exaggeration. One of the top carcinogens is burnt meat, ugh! I picked most of it out of my wrap and just ate it I was so hungry. Super disappointed. The wedge fries are still undeniably addicting, but I will not be returning to Booey again. Some things are better kept as memories.

Was walking around the neighborhood looking for a place to eat and came across this deli for lunch. I ordered the Italian sub with coleslaw and enjoyed my meal. The food was fresh and delicious. I’ll be back before I head home as there were other sandwiches I wanted to try

It’s been years since I’ve been to Booeymonger, and it’s just how I remember it. The only thing that’s changed is the back windowed room(the one I always used to eat in) now houses a frozen yogurt shop. I miss that room, but it’s a nice addition so I won’t complain. I was in the mood for a hot sandwich, so I went with the chicken cheesesteak combo. The sub was overstuffed, and pretty good, however next time I think I’ll request they toast the bread. The menu didn’t say tomatoes were included, which seemed a bit strange, but I asked them to add some. The combo came with a soda, some good potato wedge fries, and a pickle; it’s pretty filling. They have a ton of options for sandwiches, sides, and desserts, and also serve beer. Their display of cakes, pies, and brownies is really tempting, so I’m surprised I left without some chocolate cake. The environment is casual, but bright and cheerful looking. It’s a cozy place to stop in when it’s cold out, and have a bowl of soup and a sandwich. You’ll leave feeling full and satisfied, but without the feeling you get from a heavy, greasy meal.
