We were disappointed considering we usually like this place.

I’m still amazed how crazy people get when it comes to ice cream. I thought that once you’ve passed a certain age, hearing the ice cream man jingle wouldn’t matter so much. It certainly doesn’t to me; but, that doesn’t mean I hate ice cream. I definitely like ice cream, and when I’m in the mood, I HAVE to have it. When that feeling comes over me, one spot I like to head to is Swirly Top Dairy Bar.
First things first, this place is very convenient. It’s close enough to me where I can get there in 5 – 8 minutes when I’m In the need for a dairy treat. It’s always one of those great neighborhood spots that people like to support. I frequented this place a lot last summer because of that reason. While I never met the owner (s), I imagine they are down-​to-​Earth people who just like to provide smiles for the local citizenry.
I am the King of Chocolate-​Vanilla Twist Waffle Cones (along with, at the time of this review, The King of Detroit on Unilocal), and Swirly Top lived up to its name every time. All last year I got my swirl on, and I can’t wait for this place to open again for the season for me to do so again this summer!

If you want a scoop of Ashby’s or just some soft serve, go here. It’s inexpensive and perfect for sports teams– have cash-​no cards or checks accepted. The MALTS are terrible and the turtle sundae didn’t have enough flavor to be turtle. Simple stop– don’t get too creative ordering– they can’t handle it.
