this does not deserve one star it deserves zero. the man that did my nails today just destroyed my nails and I only went in for a fill. after he cracked all of my nails he insisted that I go to the other nail salon inside of the mall. all of this because he was rushing to get to the four ladies that came in AFTER me. he was so rude and disrespectful. I will never go here again and I will go out of my way to stop anybody from going to this place. this was not a place of business. this experience has actually petrified me from getting my nails done ever again anywhere. I hope this place closes because of the heart ache I got today that I do not deserve. again I just went in for a fill and the man who seemed to be the owner destroyed my nails and TOLD me to leave.

On Mother’s Day my daughter and I stopped in to get our nails done since we were at the mall. I got a gel manicure and looking at my nails you would think my 10 year old daughter did them. I’m very disappointed in how unprofessional my nails look after spending $ 25 plus tip on just my nails. It has been only 3 days and the polish is «peeling and tearing». What a waste of time & money!

One of the worst parts of no longer living in St. Louis is no longer being able to go to Randy to get my nails done. I am coming home tomorrow for a few hours before going on vacation and we are leaving a little bit later so that I can go to Modern Nails. I always get a full set and Randy’s work leaves my nails looking flawless for 2 weeks before showing the slightest bit of wear. All the nail salons I’ve been to in Philadelphia just do not stand up to Modern Nails’ quality and service.

**I have some guilt posting this review, as I try really hard not to say bad things – all businesses are struggling these days, and I hate to take business away from anyone. However, there are places to get a better customer experience.** Deanne C. is right on with Modern Nails. Sad to say, my friends and I had a poor experience here. 5 of us had an appointment for manicures and pedicures, and there were 2 women working at the salon. They both seemed miserable, especially the woman who seemed to be the owner. They did their best to accommodate all of us, but I was a bit baffled as to the lack of staff, given that we had made appointments several days before. My pedicure left a lot to be desired. The massage chairs didn’t really massage – they more just vibrated. The pedicure consisted of buffing my nails, using a pumice stone on my feet, putting lotion on my legs, and painting my nails. I was beyond disappointed that there was no massage at all. I got a shellac manicure, which was my first of the type, so I can’t comment too much as to how that compares with other salons. I will, however, mention that it was only filing my nails(which were not even – I had to specifically ask the girl doing my nails to even them out), buffing, and then the painting. No frills here. My total tab was around $ 60, including tip, with a coupon for the pedicure. Not too bad, as the shellac is expensive anywhere. The only reason Modern Nails isn’t getting 1 star is because they do give coupons, which I’d highly advise anyone to seek out before going – the service isn’t worth paying full price for.

I’m going to take my business down the street even though this place is more convenient. The good: OK price at $ 35 for mani/pedi 4 stars for polish The bad: it was very hot in the nail salon foot and hand massages were lacking the employees were rude, the girl finishing my manicure stopped working on me to take a call, SORUDE! The ugly: chairs are sort of beat the place was messy
