Old Mill Tavern

Came here with the wife. Had a nice time. Good food! Would def return. Service was pretty on point.

My husband and I are agreeing to disagree when it comes to the Old Mill. He loves it since it’s our local watering hole and he loves to sit at the bar with a draft selection and gab with our neighbor. Their wing night is terrific if the mood strikes you (I like the Garlic Parmesan wings). The Chester chicken sandwich with fresh cut fries is also pretty good. The salads are generous but there are really only 3 entrée ones to choose from on the standard menu. I have yet to go to all-​you-​can-​eat snow crab night (on Mondays), though. I think with a little more variation on their menu, I’d be more inclined to go every time my husband suggests it.

Best wings in the area — by far. Their burgers are also delicious. Solid beer selection overall.
If you want good beer/​wings/​burgers, then you’ve come to the right place. Great happy hour on Wednesdays — 50 cent wings and dollar domestic beers!

Best.Wings.Ever. And I am not a big fan of wings but I couldn’t wait to come back for the garlic buffalo wings with suicide sauce. We had the same server the first time we came, Jen who is wonderful. There’s a good selection of seasonal beers too. I have to come back for 50¢ wing night.

Went yesterday for Happy Hour. Wings were half priced. Had the suicide wings. Delicious and not too hot. Had a decent beer list with some good IPAs and Pumpkin/​Octoberfest beers. $ 5 bottles.

Good local friendly place. Burgers, ribs, and chicken dishes are solid. Fresh cut fries are available, too. Full bar menu with many daily drink specials. Prices are reasonable, and ambiance is casual.

This is my local pub I visit close to home. Good happy hour prices and Wednesday is wing night. They carry some craft beers on tap as well that rotate frequently based on the season. The best thing on the menu is the burger which uses fresh ground beef from Chester Meat Market. The Chester (chicken) sandwich is also good. They also do some daily specials as well. I tried taco Tuesday and it was my one knock — they don’t Mexican very well. Otherwise if you want goo pub food or want to drink a pint try it out.

What a nice surprise after a morning hiking. Pot roast special with mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus was quite delicious.

The burgers and wings here are great. I have not eaten anything besides the burgers and wings. They have different Happy Hour specials every night.
I usually sit at the bar and eat there. The bartenders have always been great and super friendly. They are attentive and keep an eye on your food and drinks.
50 cent wing night on Wednesday is great. They have a large variety of wing sauces and it’s fun to try them all.

The burger was average. It had very little taste. I am very particular about a great tasting burger and search the area for good ones. This one was not The corn chowder soup was very good. The service was very good and very nice.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST BURGER AND WINGS FOR MILES!!! Get the wings hot and order the Cooper Mull burger. Beer is cold and 24 on tap. Service is great and friendly. ENJOY

We love the hamburgers and fresh cut fries here! One of the best burgers around. The great atmosphere and service is a bonus.

Went Wednesday night with my son for 50 cent wings. Ordered three dozen with buffalo, sweet n sour and honey bbcue. All excellent. Can’t beat $ 1 beers.

I’m consistently impressed with the food here. A great burger with the meat coming from my favorite butcher shop, Chester Meat Market. The prime rib is excellent when it’s available and all-​you-​can-​eat crab legs on Monday’s. The only thing I’d like to see are some more craft beer options besides a Flying Fish Seasonal and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

3 things keep me coming back to this Old tavern: Cooper Mill Burger (fresh meat from local butcher), wings, and prices.
These 3 things still keep me, but their sangria and bar staff: Ali, Chris, and Joe are consistently awesome! My 3 stars just increased to 5…

Lovely waiting staff and casual friendly atmosphere. Had the wings. First ever experience of eating American wings. They were yummy. Very much enjoyed them. And had the copper mill burger. Wow. It was juicy and delicious. :)

Went back last night… not nearly as good, service was HORRIBLE. I MEAN HORRIBLE. Tall red headed waitress had a horrible personality, didn’t ask us how our food was, didn’t want to refill our water glasses, frankly, she was lazy… left a horrible taste in my mouth. Also, the Nachos Grande are not nearly as good as they used to be, the cole slaw was HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE, I had to send it back and the buffalo chicken tenders were mehhhhhh…
Not happy with this second experience.

I went here as part of a group on Saturday for lunch. This restaurant is wood paneled, with a bar (tvs are here at the bar). Our group sat in the back at tables which were pushed together.
I was told that this place is known for it’s selection of 26? beers and for its burgers (the meat is from the local butcher). Well… this made me want to try at least the burger and I DO NOT order burgers regularly since I am very fussy and usually end up either sending them back to the kitchen or taking them home to cook myself. So I held my breath and tried a burger. Well, I was NOT disappointed. Very very tasty, large and cooked to perfection. I also had the fresh cut fries (a tad limp) and pickles, onion, lettuce and tomato on my buger… very very happy with the burger!
Our waitress was young, very friendly, very competent and put up with our large, sometimes indecisive group. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant. The food was good, the service was excellent and I loved the burger!

Predictable.
Lots of fried stuff.
Bar/​pub atmosphere.

Nice place to hit after a hike in Black River Park and pass the Nature Conservancy office.
Good wings; the Atomic Habanero was at very, very spicy. Also had deserts for Mara’s bakery. Had a few interesting beer selections on tap.
