When I contacted him over the phone, Chris O’Conner (the proprietor) was courteous and deferential. He acquitted himself as knowledgable, and arranged a time to come over quickly to assess the work.
During his first visit, I was impressed by the thoroughness of his inspection. He spent a lot of time understanding my concerns and objectives, as we discussed alternative approaches to complete the work. He took significant time preparing the quotation, with an eye to respecting my limited budget. His price was more than reasonable.
The day the work was done, Chris and his crew, TJ and Michael, showed up on time and ready to go. Chris carefully reviewed all the work to be done with the team before anyone started.
While the work was being done, three things separated OC Electric from other contractors I’ve used in the past. Firstly, they were prepared and organized. No one had to go to a store to buy a part because they ran out or didn’t carry it on the truck; Chris, beforehand, assured that all items that were needed had been procured before the job started.
Secondly, whereas most contractors try to rush through the job, the gentlemen from OC were meticulous in the execution of their craft. When delicate work was needed, the crew purposely slowed down in order to make sure it was done right the first time. They worked carefully and without error even given the most prosaic situation.
Lastly, I have NEVER seen a team who worked so well together, with such clear camaraderie and respect for one another. Heck, these guys LIKE each other, and valued each other’s work. The amount of courtesy they showed each other and me was refreshing; I knew I was in the company of professionals who knew how to act like gentlemen.
I have absolutely no reservation in recommending OC Electric for any residential electrical needs. Hire them; you won’t be disappointed.
