Chesapeake Exploration Center

Great place to rent a kayak. At least I think this is wear we rented a kayak. This area was beautiful, and the rental for a whole day was a good price for both single and double kayaks. Pleasant and helpful folks. I think there was a wedding the day we rented. Gorgeous day to get married! and gorgeous afternoon to kayak with a bachelorette party.

The Chesapeake Exploration Center is an amazing place that is worth the time to find. It takes a few rights and lefts and then some lefts and rights and some looking to find it but once you are there it is a joy.
The center has zillions of great maps to help you know where you are, where you were and hopefully where you are going. Also clean bathrooms and a friendly person that knows all kinds of cool stuff about the Chesapeake Bay and the critters and ecology.
Many very fascinating displays and exhibitions about the present bay and environment and also some great old photos of what was going on here in the past.
There are great views of the water outside and a very cool deck and observation tower to relax, look, listen and smell what’s out there.
It’s not the easiest place to get to and we only stopped to use the bathrooms. But once you actually find the center it will be hard to leave without a smile. A wonderful place that is sure to entertain and educate.
