Wanted a Cannoli for dessert after dinner, so decided to come here for dessert. First time at this restaurant and knowing they are an Italian restaurant I knew they had to have a Cannoli for one of their desserts. Came here with a friend of mine for dessert after having dinner since we were both craving Cannoli’s. As I was looking throught the Dessert list I see that they have Gelato too(yeeeee, love Gelato) so decided to get both Cannoli and Gelato. The best combination ever! The Cannoli was deliciously made with its Sweet Cannoli filling and yummy Chocolate Chips. As for the Gelato, it’s homemade and they have different flavors to choose from. I had tried a mixture of Nutella Tiramisu and Cannoli, it was soooooo creamy and delicious! If you’re not sure what you want as your flavor, you can ask for a sample of their Gelato to see what you prefer. Customer service was great, our waitress was attentive and helpful. I also got to meet the owner Mr. Vinny(like cousin Vinny he says with a chuckle), very friendly man. He told us the Gelato is homemade at their original store in VB, good to know. Might have to check out VB too! Overall, so happy we came here for dessert because I got two of the few best Italian desserts, it was Delizioso!

My best friend has raved about this place for quite some time now so we decided to check it out before I left town. We ordered the following: mozzarella caprese and garlic bread for appetizers, lasagna and chicken alfredo for main course, and brownie sundae and tiramisu for dessert. Our main course came with a salad. THEYAY The atmosphere was extremely cute. I felt like I was in a little café in Naples. The service was also exceptional. We were greeted by a host when we entered and immediately seated. Our waiter was attentive to our needs. I have one qualm with the waiter which I will discuss in the Nah section. The owner was also present during our meal. He went to every table, introduced himself, and asked about our meal and service. He also offered us free gelato tastings on our way out. It is really nice to have the owner of the restaurant in house. When reading the menu it was stated that the mozzarella caprese was made with fresh mozzarella. I am happy to report that it was. It was delicious. I wasn’t sure that it was fresh mozzarella at first because I haven’t had fresh mozzarella in a while(since 2000 when we left Napoli) so I took half of it home for my parents to try and give their opinion. By the time I woke up from my nap(I was stuffed and in a food coma after dinner), my parents had eaten all of the mozzarella. That is not completely true. They left me a sliver of a piece. Thanks Parents! They were highly impressed with the freshness of the cheese. My friend had garlic balls as her starter. They were good and seasoned well. For our main course I ordered the lasagna. I decided to order something simple because it was my first time at this restaurant. Although lasagna is a simple dish it was done to perfection. The sauce was flavorful and homemade. The meat for the lasagna was italian sausage. I am not a huge italian sausage fan but I did enjoy the dish. If I am to have lasagna at this location again, I will ask if they can remove the italian sausage. I couldn’t finish the dish because they gave such a huge portion(not complaining at all) so I took the leftovers home as well. I informed my family that they may try the lasagna also. After my nap I was horrified to discover that that too was all gone. My dad gives his approval of the lasagna. My friend had the chicken alfredo for her entrée. She said it was delicious. Her portion was enormous and they were not skimpy with the chicken pieces. She couldn’t finish her meal so she took it home with her. I wonder if her mom and grandma will be sniping her food as well. For dessert I ordered the brownie sundae. It was unbelievable. It was a brownie topped with whipped cream and ice cream. The brownie tasted like chocolate cake. It was fluffy, rich, and warm. Mixing the brownie with the ice cream and the whipped cream was marvelous. I wanted to take the entire plate home but I knew the ice cream would not make it, so I decided to bite the bullet and eat all the ice cream and as much of the brownie as I could. I know poor me right. I was able to take the remaining brownie and whipped cream home to eat later.(If my little brother doesn’t get it first). My friend got the tiramisu for dessert. I did not try the tiramisu because I am not a fan of it, but she is a picky eater and if she says that she likes it, I am sure it is worth trying. THENAY My only issue with the service was that in the beginning the waitress was a bit too attentive. We were just seated(literally) when the waitress came by, introduced herself, and asked what we wanted for drinks. I didn’t have time to really look at the wine list, or any drink list for that matter. I felt rushed. I just ordered water and figured that I would order a glass of wine when she came back 5 minutes later for our orders. She came back less than 2 minutes later(literally) with our waters and asked us what we wanted for an appetizer. WHAT! I hadn’t even picked up the menu. Let me be clear here, this all occurred less than 5 minutes after we entered the restaurant. I gave her a curt look and said, «I need time to look at the menu.» I think then she understood. It is important for waiters to be attentive, but not to the point where I feel rushed. Let me enjoy the restaurant, review the menu, get comfortable in my seat… The only part of the meal that I thought was terrible was the salad. The salad was a mix of lettuce with tomatoes. You were able to chose the salad dressing you wanted. The salad came in a medium sized bowl with two cups of salad dressing on the side. The salad was awful. Plain and simple. It was obvious that they pre-made each salad. My friend and I both did not finish our salads even though we tried. THEGIST Overall this is a great restaurant. There were so many items on the menu that I would like to try. My parents enjoyed my leftovers and will be stopping by soon.

Ok so we are here now– one of 2 customers and they have a host and 2 waiters and the service is terrible. That’s like 1.5 employees for each customer. Dirty plates sat in front of us– did not take them away. Rarely checked on us– drinks sat empty– then after a while waiter came around. Would suggest they need to improve customer service. Will not be returning. Had hoped for better. Food is average at best.

This is one of the best pizza places in Chesapeake. The restaurant is very clean and is intimate enough that you could definitely come in for a nice date, to bad they don’t deliver though. The first thing I noticed when I came in was that they make their own gelato, I was able to sample some on the way out and I’m telling you I may have to come back just for that, I had the cannoli flavor, it was awesome. For those who like beer and wine they have a great section there and their menu has a great selection of food as well. I had the 16 inch meat lovers and the special pizza. It was huge definitely glad I came with a group of six and we probably would have been satisfied with just one pizza so great value there if your splitting the cost of the pizza. The meat lovers was my favorite for this visit. the crust was nice and crisp with the perfect amount of meat and cheese. All in all it was a great experience and I would definitely come again.

Great food. Got the 2 slices of pepperoni pizza lunch special, the cheese Stromboli with pepperoni added, and the 12″ personal pizza(got them to make it as a BBQ chicken pizza). Great flexibility. Overall good experience, I will come again.

Pretty good pizzas. Their calamari is bomb. Their neopolitan pizzas are good – don’t give you the itis. Service is okay and bathroom is clean.

We’ve been wanting to try the Chesapeake location of this fine Italian restaurant and tonite was the night! Service was prompt and friendly. Same great food too. I can’t get away from the angel hair with marinara. Best marinara you can find. Not too salty and flavorful tomato taste. Fresh home made bread with dipping sauce has also become a favorite. Tasteful décor in this spotless restaurant enhanced our experience.

I had lunch with a co-worker last week at the new Reginella’s in Chesapeake. We stopped in at about 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon. I would say the dining room was about 80% full however we had no problem getting a fresh table right away. The new location is very nice. There’s a mostly yellow paint job with a wood accent added to the mix. The lighting is very well done as well. The place is also clean and by that I mean spotless. You could probably eat off the floor there. We had some difficulty deciding what we wanted. After looking over the lunch specials, and then the menu we decided to go for a whole large pizza(16 inches) and selected a meat lovers. I should note that we did see that pizza is sold by the slice as well on the lunch menu and there’s about 5 choices for slice type. After a wait we received our pizza which looked great. There was a full and even placement of the toppings across the entire pie. It was a fine looking pizza, unfortunately it ended there. I have to say I really wanted to like this pie. The dough was fresh and good and I liked the sauce as well. What killed it for my co-worker and I was the grease, which there was a ton of, and some of the toppings were just low quality. The ones that stood out the biggest offenders were first, the meatballs, which were obviously a frozen type. You could see a texture in the processed meat from where they had been chopped down for the pie.(you can see the beef like cubes in the photos) Second, the bacon used was the other sticking point. It was mostly raw and fatty. We didn’t finish the pie. I brought it back to work and put it in the fridge in our break room. I wonder if someone ate it. Again I don’t want drag this over the coals to much. I think there’s a good pie to be had here if you get the right toppings. Hopefully in the future they’ll use a real hand made meatball like they do in their spaghetti. Our server was ok and the staff I encountered there were friendly. I’ll give them another try soon, however next time I think it’ll just be slices of pepperoni.

My wife and I had a slight case of cabin fever so we went exploring and remembered that Reginella’s had recently opened a restaurant in Chesapeake. We tried it and were floored. The great food was only surpassed by the excellent service. Our server was Josh and he was on point with every suggestion. He recommended the appetizer Araciatte con Croqueta(?spelling), fried rice balls(huge) and fried mashed potatoes with cheese. I can’t describe it but was incredible. We had an 18 inch Pizzeria a la Vodka slabs of homemade mozzarella over a delicious vodka sauce. One of the owners came by several times to make sure we were happy with our selections. We had an excellent dinner and can’t wait to come back with the family.

It’s good Italian food. We got the calamari and sadly it was overcooked again. But we are it anyway again. She had the trio of Fettuccini lasagna and chicken parmesan. I had the linguini fruti de mar both good. Fresh bread nice wine and good service. Thanks guys

This place has one of the better stuffed pizzas in the area. Also the spaghetti with meat balls is good too. The inside décor is well designed as well.

My boyfriend started coming here for lunch when they first opened, and he’s been raving about the pizza. So we decided on a date night. Very packed/busy on a Friday night, but we were seated in the quoted 15 – 20 minute wait. I really liked the look of the restaurant– very open and will lit. The food was great! Though, I think I was shorted on the food ordered– including the bread and salad every entrée comes with, hence the three stars. I also like when calamari is a little thicker; their’s was thin, but had a great crunch and flavor. The linguini frutti di mare also didn’t have the shrimp the menu said it comes with… But the pasta and rest of the seafood were very good. Most likely will try again; maybe I can give more stars then.

Went for the first time early on a Friday night. I had read the previous reviews about the bad service but wanted to try it out anyway. I walked in alone, and there was some sort of a line going to check in, but not really. It was pretty clustered with people ordering drinks and getting take out. I got in line and just waited to be acknowledged– no big deal. Then an older man came in, bypassed the line, and got a table. No fault of the restaurants, the man was just a jerk. I did say something to the hostess, it came out a little rude, but I had to say something. In hindsight I should have changed my tone as my frustration was with a customer. Anyway, all that to say, there does need to be some organization at the front. When we were seated, it did take a while for our waitress to come by, but she was incredibly friendly and attentive. The only blip was when our entrees came and my husband had no flatware(he left it on his salad plate). It took a few minutes for the waitress to come by to check on us, so he did sit there for a little bit. But, she apologized a few times. We ordered appetizers to start– caprese and Greek salad. The caprese, while simple, was great. The house made mozzarella was fantastic. I did not have any of the salad, but my husband said it was good but salty. I also had the small house salad with the house vinaigrette and it was good. For our entrees, I had the plain spaghetti with garlic and olive oil and he had the carbonara. Mine was delicious! Again, simple, but well done. The carbonara though…10 times better than mine. The pancetta was some of the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely return as I’m sure they are still working the kinks out. If all else fails, it will be a great spot for take out.

The place is located inside a shopping center. They have a bar but the atmosphere on my opinion doesn’t say dinner to me it says lunch only. The lemonade was really good… the pizza I wasn’t impressed by. I ordered two slices with spinach which was dry and uncooked… The cheese was entirely too thick, I was forced to scrap most of it off because the texture was hard to chew without reminding me of bubble gum. customer service was excellent! I’d come again and try the other menu items but pizza will not be my entrée of choice.

I decided to try out this place because it’s close by and I was looking for a possible authentic Italian experience. Unfortunately, this was not it. We started out with calamari and it was okay. It didn’t seem like any type of seasoning was used in it though. It was as if they dredged in plain flour and flash fried and that’s it. It was cooked well but there just wasn’t any good flavor. My BF and I both ordered the Capasante e gamberetti dish; his with red sauce and mine with white sauce. It comes with a house salad and bread. The salad was okay. I could tell the tomatoes were refrigerated because they had a mealy texture. The bread arrived and it came with packages of butter. I was surprised that an olive oil dip costs extra instead of being included. I think the loaf of bread was meant to be crusty on the outside and soft in the middle but instead it was hard and slightly burnt on the outside so I tried breaking it open the get to the middle but the slightly burnt taste made me give up on it. The actual pasta dish is was put the nails in the coffin because the shrimp smelled like it had gone bad! When our dishes came I could immediately smell that something wasn’t right but I can be overly sensitive with smells sometimes so I wasn’t sure if I was possibly overreacting. I took a bite of a scallop and that seemed fresh but the shrimp was over cooked and had a weird taste. The shrimp were medium sized and about 6 or 7 were in the dish along with scallop halves. The pasta seemed like it came out of a box and I was expecting fresh made pasta for $ 20 a plate. When I finally looked up from the plate, I saw my BF looking at me with a scowl on his face and I knew I was right about the shrimp. Even without bad shrimp, the sauce was bland and for the price, I expected more. Bertolli frozen dinners are more flavorful than our dishes were. We let the server know about our issues with the entrée(he was really attentive and nice) and he offered us a chance to order something else but we declined and he removed the items from our bill. Afterwards I ended up going to Carrabas for a pasta weesie takeout that I actually enjoyed.

This is a new addition to the original location in Virginia Beach. Some new restaurant growing pains since they have only been open a little over a week(slightly slow service, but not unreasonable). Our pasta was correctly cooked and the sauce was spot on(rigatoni ala vodka). Much smaller home like location then that of the Virginia Beach counterpart but with a very warm and inviting feel. Those at the table with pizza said it was great and hit the mark for their liking. Those around us were talking about they enjoyment as well.
