The best pizza I have ever tasted! I came here because I have eaten some of Michael’s creations before when he had his mobile service. I will tell you he and his team have improved on what I thought was perfection. We called and made reservations for our party of nine. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and display of the high quality ingredients used in the making of the food. We were quickly greeted and our table was ready. The menu selection was outstanding. We decided to keep to the basics and to sample the pizzas. We ordered a standard cheese and pepperoni for the kids and the adults shared the Mediterranean, Secchi Pomodoro, Quattro Formaggio, and the La Porcini. Each one was a work of art! The dough alone placed Pizza Bella Vista in a totally different league than any other pizza restaurant I have been to. It is cooked in a real fire oven and comes out perfectly done with the edges of the crust painted from the flames. Each pie had the freshest ingredients, which were amply applied over the entirety of the surface. The cheeses tickled my taste buds and warmed my mouth. Honestly, it was as if Italy exploded in my mouth! The chefs carefully paired flavors to deliver the most pleasant experience possible for the customer. They do have an extensive wine list and their desserts where very tempting(next time for sure). We will definitely be back. To demonstrate how exceptional this dining experience was, we must drive an hour and half to get there! No matter if you are a local or driving through the area, this is a must try.

Chesapeake is quickly becoming a mecca(in my mind) for good pizza! With Pizza Bella Vista now on the scene, Chesapeake Pizza is no longer the reining king! I visited Pizza Bella Vista with some coworkers a couple months back and the experience was perfect all around. The food, atmosphere, and customer service at Pizza Bella Vista are top notch! I had been to this location before when it was a Zero’s Sub shop and I always thought the building was in a neat place. It is amazing to see the interior transformation from what it once was. The new look is very clean and inviting. I also appreciate that the chairs are really comfortable to sit in for long periods of times. Nothing is worse than getting numb balls from sitting in a shit chair too long(sorry for oversharing) but the struggle can be real. My coworkers and I got two pizzas and we split them so we could get a taste of each. I don’t remember the exact ones that we ordered, but they were both to die for. I remember the sauce reminded me of my Sicilian Father’s spaghetti sauce… the perfect combination of spices and sweetness. Absolutely loved it. The toppings were off the charts good too! I cannot wait to go back. The last time I tried to go was on a Saturday night and it was closed for a private party. That kinda sucked since I drove 20 minutes from VB specifically to go there, but I will get over it. Fortunately, I had tried them once already and I know how good the pizza is. If not, I probably would never give them a second chance after that disappointment.

I’ve experienced these folks on a few occasions and each time I’m impressed with their pizzas! Here’s what you need to know: Take out? Yes! Very easy. I called when I was only five minutes away and it was ready immediately! They have a special oven that cooks pizzas in no time! So you get a high quality gourmet pizza in minutes! Dining in? Even better! Leave your phone at home(unless you’re taking pics to post on social media). There’s no wifi. That’s on purpose. Have a convo with your date. You’ll appreciate it and you’ll appreciate the purpose in how things like this were thought out in the design of this restaurant. The pizzas. Eat one slice or 15, you won’t get that heavy feeling. That’s something you don’t get out of pizzas. You still get the delicious flavor in every bite but you don’t get the food coma. This is by far the best pizza in Hampton Roads! Highly recommended!!!

I can’t believe I don’t have a review for this place yet. Let me start by saying, I have been a huge fan since the owners started as a food truck and was so happy to here they have a brick and mortar restaurant right by house. The restaurant is a bit tucked away, but it is right behind the Auto Bell or you can enter off of Oak Grove by the Dairy Queen. The new restaurant is lovely as soon as you get in. You can see pizzas being made in their custom oven while you sit and wait. The first time I was here, my friend and I ordered our favorite — charcuterie platter. It was full of fresh mozzarella, bread, meats, and honey. We loved it all and finished it off. Next, we ordered our entrees. I ordered the margarita — one of the best I’ve ever had and that includes the ones I’ve tried in Rome. Other pizzas I have tried have been the truffle mushroom and the pepperoni. You can’t go wrong on what to order. For dessert, we ordered something that wasn’t even on the menu — a gelato truffle. This is probably one of the best desserts I have ever tried. Mine was a ball of lemon gelato that had a surprise filling of lemon sauce inside. My friend chose the cappuccino gelato truffle and hers had cappuccino syrup inside. Other things I enjoy from here: they serve Mexican cola! Homemade cannoli! Freshly made pastas! Everything here is truly fresh and authentic! I love the service that comes with the place. Glad to see a local business take off and find their spot.

I have been meaning to try this place again, since I attened a Unilocal function here a while back. It’s kind of out of my way. But you know what? Their great pizza will make you remember the taste and you’ll come back all the way to Chesapeake! They have what I’m going to call luxury pizza indredients, the main one being this super flour from Italy which has to be cooked in their special, super hot over. It really turns out a delicious pie! I loved my pizza at my visit. It was the best I have ever had. I also enjoyed some dessert, but I think you have to catch the fancy stuff when it’s in stock. Either way, my lemon cake was yummy too. Service is super duper, the hostess was sweet and I had a really great waitress, Jessica(?). She was all over the place doing super octopus waitress stuff with a big smile.

I absolutely love this place. The pizza is amazing. I can not wait to go back. Make sure you leave room for a cannoli. The BEST cannoli I have ever had and I can’t leave a restaurant without trying the cannoli so i have tried a lot. I will say this and it’s not a complaint… the spicy spreadable sausage is very spicy! I like spicy but wasn’t expecting it to be that hot. Very good but just a tad too spicy for me. Maybe a warning should be in the menu.Haha. Another thing, I was a bit shocked at the prices but after tasting how amazing everything was, it’s totally worth the money!

Im going to preface this by saying that, I will be returning at some point to give a more detailed review. Things I like. The flour. The atmosphere, the chard taste on the pizza. However somethings could improve like the entrance area is super tiny, pizza prices are a bit much for what your getting or compared to other locations in this area. You have to ask for your pizza to be cooked chard«like it comes out normally in Italy» this is not so much an issue as I think it should be added to the menu to let you know it’s an option. Kinda like some wing places do grilled wings and call it Daytona style or big woody style. It has great potential to be an excellent pizza place and they seem to be doing very well so I see them sticking around for a while. Busing tables or clearing drinks sometimes took a while, could be due to limited staff however. All in all its a decent offering to this area and they are doing well

Came here for a birthday dinner celebration. It was my first time and it will most definitely NOT be my last. I might not go as often as I would like because of the distance but I know just where to go when I’m in the area and have a hankering for pizza. This place is legit! I haven’t had real authentic pizza since NYC. A couple places in VB come close but I think i’ve moved Bella Vista to my new #1 spot. Anyway, the celebration we were having included about 20 people or so. My bf, son, and I were the last to arrive but the waitstaff was more than helpful and quick to get us a table to join the rest of the party. It didn’t take long for them to take our drink and food orders. We already knew what we wanted thanks to the birthday celebrant who advised us to look at their menu ahead of time when he sent invitations. As an appetizer to our main course I was inclined to try their antipasti di Casa. When it was brought out we got a lot of «oohs and ahhs and what is that!?» It was so pretty and delicious. It’s definitely a shareable portion. If you’re into spiciness then this is for you. I think I their cheese cubes choice could have been different but other than that I enjoyed it — and I even had a ton left to take home which later became an accompaniment to the next night’s pasta dinner! My signature pizza pie order at any pizza place is the margherita pizza if they have it. My boyfriend ordered the pepperoni pizza and my son also ordered a margherita. I was tipped beforehand that the pizzas are a little thin and that it could be eaten by one person in one sitting, and that is why we each ordered our own pies. Where do I start about the pizzas?! Do I start with the perfectly baked crust? The way it had the right balance of crisp and soft center to it? Do I begin by noticing they use all fresh ingredients? Or do I start by saying just how cute the lil pepperonis are?! I mean, it was just perfection. I can’t even describe it without licking my lips. It’s a small, family owned establishment and the décor is rather simple yet clean. Kind of a hike if you’re coming from Va Beach but it’s fairly easy to get to if you’re on the Greenbrier area. Brightly lit parking lot at the end of a strip mall type building. I’ll be back, Bella Pizza!!! Ciao!

Wow wow wow. Came here early on a Saturday afternoon with my parents to try this place out after it was featured on the news as one of the best places for pizza in Chesapeake. It definitely lived up to its hype. I feel like there are not many authentic restaurants in Chesapeake so when you find a good one, it’s a real keeper. Hostess greeted us upon arrival and we were sat immediately. Our waitress also greeted us quickly after we were seated and took our drink orders. Everything on the menu looked great but the specials stood out to me. I am a sucker for anything with Gnocchi and their special was fried gnocchi with tomato sauce for only $ 7. I also ordered a salad because I figured the gnocchi would be a small appetizer plate. My parents got a cheese pizza(one size) for $ 11. My gnocchi and salad came out and were HUGE. Way bigger than expected. The gnocchi was absolutely amazing. It was absolutely bursting with flavor and had amazing fresh Parmesan cheese on top. The tomato sauce on the side was home made and very fresh. I still wasn’t able to finish it all so I took the rest home. My salad was amazing too. Romaine lettuce fresh cherry tomatoes fresh Parmesan cheese and homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Bursting with flavor and big enough to share with 3 people. My parents pizza was also awesome(I only had one bite) but it was great and so fresh. Better than any Pizza I’ve had in this area. Waitress was very attentive and super friendly throughout entire visit. The restaurant stayed busy. My only concern was when we walked in a couple of guys behind us told the hostess they wanted to place a carry out order and the hostess said they«weren’t doing carry out tonight.» I hope this isn’t a regular thing on Saturdays because we don’t always like to dine in. Anyways highly recommend this place it’s awesome!

The couple times I’ve been here have been both excellent and sad. The excellent is the staff and the food. Super friendly people and the food has been delicious. The sad is when they are out of certain dishes(specifically the spaghetti pomodoro, the garlic confit & mélange de beurre and paninis) and their hours. Aside from the sad, which is obviously written out of disappointment of wanting good food, the place is pretty great!

I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about this pizza from friends on Unilocal community, and last week, after many failed attempts I finally had the opportunity to come here. Brooke was an awesome waitress and very accommodating and knowledgeable about the product. I started of with a glass of wine. Luckily the friend I was with was a wine connoisseur and helped to pair me up with an awesome glass of riesling to cleanse my pallet. I was in the mood to eat meat, so Brooke suggested I get a customized sausage pepperoni pizza, and I was not disaappointed. The pizza here was awesome; the dough is light and airy and it doesn’t overpower the flavor of the toppings. You get the right amount of flavor in every bite. For dessert I got a piece of tiramisu, and it was delicious as well. Overall, I can’t wait to try some more of this pizza the next time I’m in the area because«if you can’t go to Bella Vista Pizza, where the hell could you go!?»

Let me start off by saying, wow. I have been on the hunt for pizza that tasted just as authentic as the pizza I had in Italy, and I have found it! The pizza served here is Neopolitan-style pizza, making the size at about 10 – 12 inches, which is perfect for a personal size pizza. However, my boyfriend and I shared because we did get an appetizer as well. We were greeted as soon as we entered and seated right away. The tables were kind of small, so it would have been tight if we ordered two pizzas. I liked how cozy the restaurant felt. It wasn’t very large and could probably hold about 45 guests max. I also liked that you could see right into the kitchen where the wood-burning oven was open and smelled heavenly. After glancing over the menu, we placed our order. We started with the calamari. I was confused as to why it doesn’t come with marinara sauce, but it didn’t even need it! It was a little soggy, but I attribute it to the dressing. The calamari(tentacles included) was served over some greens and came with banana peppers. I couldn’t figure out what the dressing was, but it was so delicious that my boyfriend and I wiped the plate clean. As soon as we were done, the hostess offered us some light olive oil to dip our pizza crust in, which I actually liked! I added some salt and pepper for some flavor. Our pizza came out not too long after that. We ordered the Capriccio, which included red sauce, mozzarella, spinach, mushrooms, and fresh tomatoes. I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting what else was on it. It was soooo delicious! I didn’t care how hot it was when it came out and just kept eating it! Make sure you ask for some Parmesan cheese because it definitely tasted fresh. For dessert, we chose the Nutella crepes, which were the special for the night. It was chilled and came with strawberries and glaze. I hope they bring that back again next time I come! The servers were very nice and made my visit enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back here. No other pizza(except for my favorite NYC pizza place) will match up to here!

I am seriously done looking for pizza establishments after trying the pizza here. DONE. This is the best in Hampton roads! You can easily taste the fresh ingredients used to make these traditional pies. The sauce is smooth, crust is thin, but not paper thin, and all of the toppings pack a huge punch of flavor. You just, don’t get ingredients like that on a pizza in these parts. This is probably due to the fact that I think about, what, 95% of the things served here are flown in directly from Italy. The flour, the peperoni, the peppers(just to name a few). It’s rare you come across an individual that opens up a business to really share their love of food with its patrons. Yeah, restaurants open all the time, but you can quickly tell how passionate a chef is about their food once that first plate comes out. Here, you can just feel the love put into every single meal that’s prepared, form the ingredients to the presentation. You can tell the chef is very proud of what he does and stands behind his creations. You can see the owners passion in his face as it glows when he speaks of his time spent in Italy with his wife. Even the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and caring, treating each customer as if they were family. You just feel comfortable, and at home when dining here. I’ve told everyone I work with about this place and two of the girls have brought their families here, all having GREAT experiences! So happy to have found such a gem. Already trying to figure out when I can get back!

I first heard about Pizza Bella Vista from my coworker who happens to be Italian, she visits Italy quite often and says the pizza here reminds her of home. So I guess I was already sold on this place before ever stepping foot through the door. I’ve never eaten pizza in Italy so I will take her word for it. What I loved most about this pizza is the dough, it’s thin, soft and chewy; And the marinara sauce. it has a fresh robust flavor and plenty of it. gotta love saucey aka juicy pizza! I’ve always ordered 2 go by phone, when I arrive my pizzas are hot & ready no waiting.

Oh SOYUMMY!!! I had the pleasure of trying their pizza at a recent Unilocal event. The restaurant has a cozy setting with the warm hospitality from the owners. You can see the pizza being made and going into the wood oven right when you walk in. The aroma of the spices lets you know you are in for a treat. All the neapolitan pizzas I’ve tried, which was about 5 – 6, was all so seriously delicious! You know the sauce and crust of a pizza has to be on point for it be superb and this place nailed it! The tomato sauce wasn’t acidic(for those with acid reflux can relate) but a nice smooth taste. The pizza wasn’t greasy or overwhelming with hard nasty cheese. But the right balance of flavor and toppings… so yummy! The crust had a nice crunch and held up well. This family own business has the best pizza in the Hampton Roads! I’ve found a new spot! The family/owner is passionate about their pizzas and you can definitely taste it!

Oh my goodness. This place is incredible. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. From the homeade oil dressing with gorgonzola crumbles to the Diablo pizza. Everything was perfect. What’s even better is that they are very family oriented. There’s no tv’s and they don’t have free WiFi. They encourage face to face conversation with one another. The other really cool thing is the wood oven they use. Apparently it’s heatdled to 900 degrees and it’s where they cook their pizza. It makes for a truly decadent pizza. Its a small restaurant so a large group might not be preferable but hey, to each his own. I highly encourage going here and talking to the owner when you do. His story and way of running his business is incredible.

I’m so impressed by the Signorelli family as well as their business family. The pride and work that gets put into your order is just so impressive. It so amazing to hear first hand the struggles of getting to where they are now, but even more the sincerity and openness of him willing to share with us just simply makes you feel at home and comfortable. It is always good to be checked on and asked how everything is by not only the staff but the owner. With an excellent staff full of smiles, teamwork, and great customer service you just can’t go wrong. The authentic Neapolitan Pizza is just a step above any regular pizza, but the various styles is in itself delicious. Also the fresh ingredients and the imported ingredients is simply unique and original. The peppers and pears!!! Oh the appetizers(yum yum) With an excellent moscato, beers, and wines you are definitely going to enjoy yourself with the various of choices. Oh and their is a discount when you purchase your bottle !!! So enjoy and Bön appetite !!!

Just got off work and craving food. My cousin had recommended this place to eat for dinner. This place is located around the corner of a shopping center off of BATTLEFIELD blvd, Chesapeake. As I walked into the space the place was a little petite but a great atmosphere. When my sister and cousin arrived we were greeted by the owners wife. She was very informative about all the specials they were having and what she recommended. Their business started in New York and came down to Va started a Food Truck business And Then opened A restautant bc of great success! She had told us she they get their food imported and get fresh deliveries every week to be replenished. So what we had ordered, we ordered an appetizer called the Bruschetta pepperone that seemed to contain 3 pieces of baguette that had a marmalade sauce, drizzled balsamic glaze, and parmesean cheese shavings. For our entrée, we ordered the Quattro formaggio pizza and added a meat onto half of the pizza. As the for the finale, we all decided to get all get different desserts, I had gotten a pumpkin filled cannoli, my sister had gotten the chocolate ganache cheesecake, and my cousin had gotten the Lemon truffle dessert. They were all sooooooo delicious, we literally rotated our desserts among us to try eachothers dessert. This place is amazing, and a must try place! I recommend this place very highly to everyone! I will definitely be back!

This is the good stuff! Straight from Italy! I stopped here recently on a Saturday afternoon with a co-worker, Kirk. He lives near here and said I’d really like the place. We picked the perfect time, around 2pm that afternoon and there was only one other table a the time. Our waiter was a young man named Maxon(if I remember that correctly). I started off the meal with an order of Bruschetta Pepperone. This was a combo of red and yellow peppers that had been marinated with garlic, sea salt and EVOO then served on toasted bread. There were cheese crumbles over that. Very very good! Before we could finish our app the pizza’s we ordered arrived. Kirk went with a pie called the Vegetariana which is served with a red sauce, mozzarella, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, red onion, romano and EVOO. The pizza I selected was the Salsiccia Picante. This pie also starts off with a red sauce and mozzarella, however it then adds Hot Italian Sausage, Gorgonzola, Red Onion and Calabrain Chili Peppers. My pizza was excellent and let me tell you, those little Calabrain Chili Peppers are hot. If you want some pep in your pizza, this is the one to try. Not only were the peppers hot, the had a great after taste. Kirk said the same about his veggie pizza. BTW before I forget it, the dough as well as the toppings were all extremely fresh. No doubt about it. All in all it was an exceptional lunch experience and I’m really looking forward to the Elite Event here in December.

Extremely clean restaurant with a modern décor and efficient service, their waiter was knowledgeable about their menu and customer-oriented, weekly specials with creative pizzas, spotless bathroom with no changing table, easy and free to parks, credit cards are accepted, etc. The $ 13 Vegetariana pizza was made out of high-quality fresh ingredients. This pizza had a chewy and puffy crust. The diameter of the pizza was 12″ inches. It is marketed as an individual gourmet pizza(Neapolitan style). There were four desserts available today: cannoli, tartufo limoncello, etc. Overall, I prefer the NY style pizzas at Cogan’s and Cogan’s North in Norfolk, VA or Lombardi’s pizza in SoHo, NY. They are bigger(Cogan’s and Cogan’s North: the diameter is 16″ inches; Lombardi’s pizza: 14″ inches = small and 18″ inches = large) with fresh quality ingredients and a flavorful tomato sauce for the same price range. As I was still hungry after I left Pizza Bella Vista, I went to the fast fresh food restaurant ‘Cutting edge’ nearby to order a delicious ‘Wasabi beef sandwich’ with a homemade hummus and pita side…
