Great hotel! I frequently stay here when I am on business. This hotel is clean, well-kept and recently renovated it looks better now. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I like the gym here — its got weights and cardio machines. Close to many restaurants and shopping both on Battlefield Blvd and Greenbrier Pkwy just a mile away. Wi-Fi works great for me especially for my work laptop since I need a wired connection. Only downside I may have about this Hampton Inn is the walls seem a little thin(or its possible I may have Vulcan hearing). Occasionally I have heard my neighbors talking on their phones(maybe they are just too loud).

We came here to visit my husband who was traveling on business. My toddler(1 ½) enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was as you would expect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us an hour late checkout which was perfect since my child was napping. The room, the halls, and the common areas were all very clean. There was a wedding going on but the staff didn’t seem overburdened with the extra guests, so props to the management for being organized and on top of things. We thought the bed was VERY comfortable — and I was 6 months pregnant at the time. Great hotel for the price! You’re not paying for ultra luxury or amazing views(it’s Chesapeake, after all) but for the location I thought the price was very fair and the amenities were on point.

Hampton is generally considered the lowest tier in the Hilton chain of properties, but that could not be said about this particular property. I was seriously impressed! My room was super clean and the nice, firm mattress was extremely comfortable. Mini-fridge and microwave in the room as well as a coffee service, plus a flat panel television and a nice sized work desk. There were extra power outlets on the desk and also on the nightstand between the two beds. Nice! My check-in clerk was friendly and I overheard two other guests saying that the janitor gave them inflatable floats for the pool. I did not visit the pool, the fitness room or the breakfast area. Free wifi worked well. Parking was decent, but be aware of the bus stop right there as some bus riders may decide that the hood of your car is a good place to sit while waiting.

I went to the Virginia Beach area for a work conference and since I signed up late, I couldn’t get a room where the conference was being held so I used my trusty Hilton Honors website and found that just a few miles away was the Hampton in Chesapeake. I got a great deal and so I went with it. Lucky me, when I arrived, the staff made me aware that I am not Hilton Gold and got an upgrade from a King room to a King Suite. They accommodated my standard request of a high floor away from the elevator also. I walked into the king suite and was amazed at how large it was. The living area, kitchenette, and bedroom were three separate areas. It was amazingly surprising! Everything was clean, except the coffee area of my kitchenette had some dried up grounds on the mints, and cups. I didn’t have coffee in my room, but it was a disappointment. They did include a free bag of microwave popcorn which came in handy after an evening with no dinner. I slept great, shower was amazing, and the breakfast had lots of healthy options. All around, a great place to stay. I would definitely stay there again.

No notice of a supposed renovation. Walked into a floor with half ripped up carpet and curtains on the floor in the hallway. Sticky notes for room numbers. Staff was lackluster and again no notice of any renovation. Very unprofessional property. Would not recommend.
