Finally returned for a much better experience. Used the gift cert they sent us in recognition of our previous experience. Food and service was much better.

Very disappointing! I had Veal Marsala, it tasted like they opened a jar of brown gravy and poured it over my gray veal. We had a large party and rented a private room I think we waited almost 2 hours for our food. The bathrooms are disgusting! With all the restaurants in cherry hill this place is not going to make it unless they hire new management and a new chef. Will not return again. I’ve had better Veal at the diner!

Was out running around with one of my good friends that is a foodie like myself saw the restaurant as we were driving by. Let me first say I never write reviews so for me to go out of my way to write one there is a good reason why. I always say in your lifetime you will have 10 meals that are absolutely the best you’ve ever had and I had one of those meals today at Caffe Aldo Lamberti. We started with appetizers an order of Spanish grilled octopus with artichokes and an order of beef carpaccio with fennel and parmigiano Reggiano both very simple clean tasting dishes prepared absolutely perfect my friend and I were amazed how great everything was so far. Next came are entrée’s I had a whole grilled Branzino with mixed vegetables and potatoes my friend had scallops with handmade shrimp ravioli with truffles we shared a taste of are meals with each other both dishes were absolutely incredible. I always say you know when a meal is so good that it makes your eyes water and this was one of those meals. I also would like to comment on are whole all around service are waiter I believe his name was Carlo I hope I am right on the name. I would like Carlo to get recognition for are amazing service a Surgeon could not have filet my Branzino better table side an absolute work of art. Carlo again I hope I am getting your name right you sir are a person that takes pride in your job and you have a passion for great service. Absolutely in the top 10 best meals of my life. Thank you Caffe Aldo Lamberti for an absolutely amazing dining experience today.

Spent Christmas Eve here with my family. Power went out right after we received our appetizers Spent the rest of our night in darkness and waited an extremely long time to receive dinner. During the wait, the backup generator lights burned out within the first hour. The quality of the food was good in spite of the lack of electricity but was very disappointed that the management did not acknowledge our inconvenience or discomfort in any fashion. No apology was given and they did not monetarily compensate us for our less than optimal dining conditions in any manner.

I’ve never had a bad meal here, and my family also loves it. But on this Christmas Eve, they absolutely proved why they are among the best restaurants in the area. At about 6:00 p.m., we had just received our appetizers(which were perfect), when the power went out to the entire restaurant. Did I mention it was Christmas Eve? The place was packed. When the power went out, though, every one of the restaurant staffers was the epitome of professionalism, not exhibiting any panic at all, even as they undoubtedly watched one of the best tip nights of the year slip away from them. We could could not have been more impressed — we already knew the food and service were outstanding, but their professionalism in the face of a giant stocking full of coal was amazing. So go here and TIPGENEROUSLY, PEOPLE.

If I was just writing this review based on service alone it would be a 5 star review. Then add the food onto the experience and it is a 5+ star review. I was in town for the weekend to visit my Uncle and he had made reservations at Caffe Aldo Lamberti. I don’t normally eat Italian food out very often. I feel that it is a cuisine that I can execute well enough that I don’t need to go out for it. I can tell you with all certainty that I could not execute the deliciousness of my meal. I started out with the East Coast oysters and they were delicious! The oysters were large, fresh, perfectly tasting of the sea. They had been shucked to perfection without a hint of grit. This is a true skill in shucking. My main was one of the specials of the night. It was Florida grouper with muscles and clams in a tomato broth over pasta and it was nothing short of magical. Being a Florida girl, I love grouper and this was a perfect taste of home with a New Jersey twist. For dessert I had the crème brulee and it was perfectly prepared. The sugar was golden with the right amount of crack when the spoon met the surface. The custard was a smooth vanilla dream. The service at Caffe Aldo Lamberti is truly one of its best features. I was so very impressed with everyone we came in contact with. From the hostess stand to the wait staff to the bussers. If you are looking for a truly delicious and well served meal, Caffe Aldo Lamberti is not to be missed.

Wonderful dinner at Caffe Aldo Lamberti yesterday! Fresh seafood, simply prepared so that all you taste are the ingredients in their glory and and excellent service. The grilled octopus appetizer was sweet and tender. The scallops and ravioli were phenomenal as was the branzino which they fillet at your table. Finally, the dessert — made in house — was excellent as well. The limoncello cake came with a tart citrus sauce and the chocolate chip cake was light and perfectly sweet. The dinner will cost you a pretty penny but you will leave happy and satisfied. Totally worth it.

At here with my wife not long ago. Ill get right down to it. The apps were awesome, we had the shrimp cocktail and octopus. Octopus was good, def different. For entrees i had the rack of lamb — wasn’t particularly into it, pretty gamey. My wife had the macaroni with crabmeat– this was really good. All in all, a nice restaurant with good service and an enjoyable ambiance. Definitely more for special events than everyday dining. I thought it was a little pricey– but to each his own. I would definitely go back and try something different.

Wowzers. The food and drinks were perfection from start to finish. Douglas was our server and delivered superb service. The octopus was some of the best I’ve had. The vodka grapefruit cocktail was perfectly tasty. I had the special grouper dish and it was paired with all the right sides. Definitely a must go to.

For my 19th birthday I decided to make reservations here for a group of my friends and I. It was a total almost 15 of us, my friends were dressed in all black and I wasn’t because I was the birthday girl. To keep this short and brief, I felt like I was treated as a child there along with my friends. I’m a person who loves trying new restaurants out and I absolutely love Italian food. The first thing this restaurant did was remove the iPad menus that contained the wine list off our table without asking if we would like it removed. My sister and aunt were also there who are over 25 years old and what bothered me the most was that they were not asked if they wanted anything from the menu or anyone from that matter. They assumed we were all under age. The second thing was that I felt like my waiter was not as respectful. I felt rushed to order and taken as a joke. This is a place I will visit again but with a different waiter. The food was good and if that incident happens again with the wine menu I will ask to speak with a manager because it is rude to make an assumption about my age.

best Italian restaurant in NJ. They’ve catered my 2 graduation parties and I am completely in love with this place. The food is incredible. They serve olives and pizza bread to start which are perfect! The whole menu is amazing. George is the manager and he’s wonderful, if you need help planning an event or party he’s your guy. I held a surprise party for my mother there a few years ago and it was perfect, band flowers and food, all with his help. Go grab dinner at the bar, sit on the patio or get a group and sit in one of their wine cellars I promise you won’t be disappointed. Their servers are great. Always friendly and do a great job tending to their guests. They have excellent salads. Great appetizers and their Bronzino is my favorite entrée! Have I mentioned I love this restaurant? Their fall menu has incredible gnocchi’s and ravioli and in the summer their oysters crab claws and fresh fish are a must. My mom loves their Positano pasta(crab meat) and their zucchini fries and tuna carpaccio with crab and avocado salad is good all year round. When you leave buy a bottle of olive oil or a jar of cavastrano olives to bring home. I always crave those things!!! We’ve been coming for about 15 years. It really is a gem. He’s modernized the building and grown significantly over the years but has NEVER lost the quality of food or service which is rare and extremely impressive. I’ve never had a bad meal at Aldo. Get in your car and get your heinie over there. You won’t find me in the dining room(it’s too stuffy and an older crowd) that’s good for special occasions or holidays but typically the best spot is a high top in the bar! Everything here is perfect, with exception to his love for blue lights, every time we go he continues to expand the collection of blue string lights spots or strands outside!(Completely unnecessary) enough Again I love it here. And you will too!

Was disappointed with the experience here. A happening spot though — it was packed both in dining area and bar area. They had a neat bar area that I would go back to for cocktails. That being said food was no so exciting. The zuc fritte was more zuc fries vs the thinly sliced chips you normally get w/fritte. The tom/motz app was good and nice presentation. Loved the olives! At our table we got the lobster rav & short rib pasta. The lobster rav sauce was extremely bland — no flavor. The short rib pasta was more like ground meat vs big chunks of meat. If you are looking for a fun, busy bar then I would recommend this place.

After my last experience and subsequent Unilocal!review, the staff reached out to me and took the time to thoroughly evaluate my experience. They ended up inviting me back to give them another opportunity to show me what they saw as their standard of service. I ended up taking a huge gamble and brought my mom here for Mother’s Day — she absolutely loved it. I honestly can’t find a single thing to complain about — the waitstaff was friendly, the food was amazing and they really made my mom feel special. I have never been more impressed with how seriously a restaurant has taken my negative feedback or how happy I was that I gave them a second chance to impress me. I will definitely be going back! Thanks again for making it such a special mothers day!

A disappointing follow up despite the countless yearnings to sip and dine with fellow ‘elitists’. For those not in the know, the restaurant enjoys showcasing jaguars, corvettes and lamborghini in the front to display their likings of high society tangibles. then again, perhaps the owners of the vehicles don’t want their cars parked next to grundgy, pollen covered tanks on wheels. aka my car.(Scroll to bottom for conclusion as middle is mostly rant) Nonetheless, we arrived around 5pm(note that happy hour begins at 4pm and runs until 7pm.) Few people occupied the bar seating area with the exception of a gaggle of grey haired business people sipping on cocktails and an older woman who had clearly been slinging back martinis like it was the end of the world. The Mrs. and I sat down and calmly waited for a server… after about 10 min, I took matters into my own hand and strolled up to the bar and got a few drinks myself. Shortly after returning, a slightly confused server hesistantly approached and offered us a menu and wanted to see if we needed a drink(mind you besides the ten people at the bar, there were roughly six other people in the bar area). We received our drink and proceeded to order food. A bit confused with the happy hour selections(more to come) we picked a few items covered under the happy hour(HH from here on) selections and a few not. A busser/food runner brought a small basket of delicious tomato bread and some lightly brined, surprisingly sweet olives. Our first items, tomato bruschetta and a mixed charcuterie plate arrived, both garnished with chunks of parmesan cheese and the same olives brought with the tomato bread… interesting. but whatever. We reread the cocktail menu and ordered a vodka drink and a gin drink. Both were unfortunately not to our likings. I think I compared one to a summer room air freshener and the other to a bathroom sanitizer, purely in flavor btw… Around 630, the hostess informed us that our table had been reserved for 730 and I said not a problem as we were only waiting on some more items. About 45.yes.FORTYFIVEMINUTESLATER,(715) our sausage and white bean bruschetta and short rib arrived(these items had been ordered the same time as the first back around 545. Our bewildered and somewhat slow waiter doddled around the room and finally made it to our table to see if we needed a drink… it was past 7pm and thus my cherry mood, and buzz had long gone. I’m sure he is a nice person out of work, but I’ve seen sundials move faster than this guy, especially when liquor sales are the bread and butter AND a good portion of your tips… just saying. Food: tomato bruschetta-disappointing hors d’œuvre sized portions on dry bread Charcuterie-somewhat acceptable, but needed something pickle related to cut through the saltiness of everything else… I mean. garnishing with parm and olives is a bit of a salt overload Sausage bruschetta– not bad although I doubt it needed over and hour to prepare Short ribs — average and forgettable, needed a bit more sauce to make it pop Our check finally arrived via carrier pigeon and I noticed that none of the drinks had been discounted. On the bottom of the drink menu was clearly written, join us for happy hour, while on the food menu listed at the top said vodka cocktails, gin cocktails and certain wines would be half off. Well, silly plebians that we were, when we ordered a gin COCKTAIL, off of the COCKTAIL menu, we thought it would have been included. NOPE. the HH promo only pertains to items such as a vodka martini, gin and tonic, etc. I know. ridiculous and terribly unclear. The first trip for dinner was exceptional and I’ll always remember the calamari and rock shrimp salad, but happy hour was a bust. When you go, make sure you ask for exact items covered under HH prices and sit at the bar as it seems the bartenders had their s**t together and would probably pay more attention than the average server…

This is an upscale diner, but that’s about it. Food is good but nothing special, the average customer age is around 50+. The establishment also has a TV which makes it sort of like TGI with a valet parking. If you are looking for short drive, and decent food, you can consider this place, but don’t expect it to be something extraordinary and you won’t be disappointed.

We’ve been to Caffe Aldo Lamberti three times in total, twice on regular nights and once on a holiday night(Christmas Eve). First, I will say that the food at Lamberti is phenomenal — truly delicious and some of the best Italian food we have eaten anywhere. When we visited on non-holidays, we also got great service and an elegant dining experience which made the high price tag worth it. Our experience on Christmas Eve was a disappointment, however, so I would not recommend going to this restaurant on a busy holiday. While the food was excellent, portions were smaller(although prices were still high with most entrees in the range of $ 25-$ 30) and service was chaotic and unpolished. The hostess, while taking us to our table, literally sprinted and we would have had to jog to keep up with her. She dropped the menus on the table and left before we were seated — and the service the rest of the night was similarly unpolished and harried. Yes, it was a holiday, but I think better planning and training of staff could have resulted in maintaining good customer service standards. There was a special menu for Christmas Eve, but we expected that the atmosphere would also be special in some way, perhaps nice holiday music playing, etc. There was no music at all until later in the evening when a choral group of(what appeared to be) high school students were going from table to table, which would have been nice if the restaurant was paying them, but I noticed they were singing for money and the guests were tipping them. Our total for a party of 2, including an appetizer, entrée, 2 drinks each and 1 dessert, came to about $ 165 with tip. We felt this was too much for this type of experience.

Caffe Aldo Lamberti served up one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. I’m not surprised since I always have a great meal here. I dined with my husband, in-laws and a packed restaurant last night. The restaurant was very crowded, probably due to approaching holidays, but you never would have known based on the service. Our server was courteous and professional 99% of the time. He made an off-beat joke asking my husband why he didn’t eat the bone in his osso buco, but was great otherwise. Restaurants don’t get 5-stars for service alone. They served up some superb Italian cuisine. I loved everything from my Eggplant Napoletana appetizer, Capellini Positano entre and Pumpkin Cheesecake dessert. Of course the tomato pie like bread was top notch. I can’t think of anywhere else than the Lamberti restaurants that serve bread like that, and couldn’t imagine any restaurants that could do it better. The appetizer and dessert were off the seasonal menu. I’m not really sure what was seasonal about the eggplant(Pan-Seared Eggplant, Fresh Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Garlic, Extra Virgin Olive Oil) but it was so good that I didn’t really care. There were other items on the seasonal menu that didn’t seem overly seasonal, but perhaps they were just the unrelated specials that happened to be offered this season? Of course the pumpkin cheesecake was seasonal though. It took a traditional New York cheesecake and added a delectable pumpkin spin to it. If you follow my reviews, you know I’m not a big dessert person, but this cheesecake was awesome! I was really happy with the Capellini Positano as well. The menu describes it as Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Tomatoes, Garlic, Basil, Olive Oil. It lived up to the description and then some. Most importantly, they did not skimp on the crabmeat and all of the ingredients complimented each other perfectly. I went with the Pear Martini(Grey Goose La Poire, St Germain, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice) as my first beverage and a 5 ounce glass of Pinot Noir to follow. The martini was sweet but not overly sweet, and the lime juice masked the alcohol. Of course you can’t go wrong with a glass of wine. It’s nice that they had two different sizes, as that point in the night I really didn’t want the bigger pour. My entire family was happy with their meals and had a lovely experience at Caffe Aldo Lamberti. I look forward to many visits to come!

Caffee Aldo Lamberti is getting 4 stars mainly for the service. I was actually a little disappointed in the food. With a little step up in the food department, this could have easily been a 5 star experience. The experience begins with complimentary valet service at the front door. Nothing gets me ready for an out of this world culinary adventure like a friendly valet opening the door for me. The queue was filled with a Ferrari Fiorano, a Porsche Panamera, and a Audi R8 convertible. Of course, I rolled up large in my Nissan Altima rental, but the valet didn’t notice the difference and shared a friendly greeting and welcome with me. The entranceway is spacious and welcoming. The hostess quickly found our reservation, but we opted to retire to the bar for a drink while we waited for the rest of our party. The keg ran out on my beer selection so the bartender disappeared for a few moments to change the keg. While I would prefer that he let me know that it would be a few minutes and give me the option to make another selection, I recognize that is a personal preference. Once we got to our table, our server greeted us and shared the evening’s specials. Our server did an excellent job throughout our business meal, always being nearby, but never intruding upon our slow pace. The tables are spaced a distance apart and the room is large, so the volume in the room never got to the point where it interfered with our conversation. We got the calamari as an appetizer. Although it was prepared well, it was no better than the calamari that you can get at any Italian casual dining restaurant. For my entrée, I got the pork loin special with crab meat, gorgonzola, bacon, and a demi-glacé. I found the pork to be tough, the bacon to be bland, and the gorgonzola and crab portion to be skimpy. My colleagues both got the sea bass — prepared two different ways — and let me tell you that I had intense entrée envy. Caffe Aldo Lamberti is definitely a restaurant you should visit if you don’t want to venture into the city for an amazing dining experience. I would suggest, however, that you stay away from the pork loin and opt for the seafood.
