I eat here sometimes because it reminds me of this burger joint I worked at when I was in college, however, every time it sounds like a good idea afterwards I wish I didn’t. The food isn’t awful but for the price you could do much better, you might as well go to red robin or what not. Also takes quite some time to get your food. If you are going to eat here I would try the western burger and a banana shake :) one fry will feed all, no need to waste the money on two.

I have been coming to Dairy Dans for 20 years. In all my time coming here I have never encountered such a rude, arrogant and voile employee. I ordered a large vanilla ice cream cone upside down in a cup with blackberry topping. My friend with me wanted the same but with hot fudge. Instead we were meet with sarcasm that they don’t have large and never have and that she had been there for over a year and a half and I don’t know what I’m talking about. For $ 8 for two ice creams I am not paying for your attitude. My money’s spends just as well elsewhere. I’ll go to Safeway and buy a gallon of ice cream for $ 5 before I come back.

Awesome. Delicious. Went twice in a day dropped about 55 bucks with two people/4 big meals. Hell ya dairy Dan!

Frozen patties, cheap tiny buns. Burgers are sad little dry things. This is nothing like it was under previous owners. McDonalds has better food.

Good place to stop for lunch and a break. Good variety on menu, not to mention the Ice cream.

Everything is amazing except their burgers. The burgers taste A little bit better than McDonald’s. So why not save the money and just go to McDonald’s. The burgers are expensive here. The staff is nice though.

One of the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been! I really wanted to give more than one star but unfortunately I don’t think it is possible. My husband and I are taking a road trip and we wanted to try something local. The food is just the average. There is nothing special about the burgers and fries. For the shake, I can give four stars but that is all. The restroom had dirty floor, overflow sink and restroom and main restaurant’s trash can. There were paper towel on the floor since the trash can was totally full. I wonder how many hour the restroom haven’t been cleaned since most of customers go to the drive through. The tables and floor were full of crumbs, specially the table and seats. When our food came, I asked for mustard and the woman gave me those typical(no brand) mustards container which was very very dirty. It was totally clogged, full of dust on top of it and very old crusty mustard all around. See pictures attached. Seriously? How can you guys offer such a dirty place for customers to eat? This is our first and last time coming here. So disappointing. We should have gone to McDonald’s instead.

Well wanted a good old fashion hamburger for dinner, so I went toairy Dan’s. I ordered a double cheese burger, large fries, and small shake. I will say that it was all very good. Service was great and it was pretty speedy. The only thing that concerns me is I paid over $ 14.00. I can go to the casino and pay less and get a lot more choices and not still feel hungry. I could go to almost any Chinese restaurant and not pay more then 10.00 bucks. I can get like 2 large pizzas for the price of 1 dinner at ‘Dairy Dan’s! I just don’t think 4.00 is a fair price for frozen French fries. Or ovee 3.00 for an 8 oz shake. I love the restaurant but damn you killing me.

My kids and I love the ice cream cones on a hot day or for a reward after an accomplished day at school!

Burgers and onion rings were great, fried mushroom side was eengh, staff was friendly but $ 0.25 for soda refills seemed chintzy.

I havent been to the Dairy Dan in a couple years, and i heard they had knew owners, so i took the plunge. Had my two young kids with me, and it was just… blah. The burgers used to be the best in town. The prices have increased, but the food has definitely declined. The ice cream is still the same and a great stop in the summer time, however if i ever have a craving for a burger, im going to the dairy bar.

The food here is «eh»… the burgers are nothing special, even with their«special» sauce. I’d rather go to Red Robin or In and Out(however there aren’t any around). A friend of mine got the coney dog and the thing was shriveled, as though it were a few days old. The fries were just okay… the onion rings were much better! But for $ 4, I’d rather make my own. However, the shakes are really good and the reason why I’d give this place three stars. Even being lactose intolerant, I’d gladly pay the price to sip one down every once in a while. The soft serve is pretty good too! The amount of flying insects in the place is a little worrisome… but lets just assume it’s because they have a back door open somewhere?! Final say: If you want a juicy burger and fries, skip this place and go to Red Robin in Olympia. If you want a homemade milkshake, this is the place to go!

Flies! Kids spent most of the time watching the buzzing flies and observing the other families. Shakes and curly fries were fine. Skip the food and get a cone to go. The cones really were the highlight of the place.

Dairy Dan opened under new ownership I believe earlier this year, and it shows in the way the building has been repainted on the outside and inside. If you’re in the mood for a great milkshake or burger, this is the spot. As previous reviewers have noted, the soft-serve ice cream is what makes this place famous. The menu is very large for a place that comfortably seats around 40. You can walk in or drive-up and order from the window. It’s a couple minutes off I-5 and well worth the stop on the way through Lewis County.

Has THE most amazing soft-serve ice cream I’ve ever had… why there isn’t soft-serve like this in Seattle, is beyond me. Simple, flavorful, icy and wonderful… not too rich, just perfect. If you think you know what good soft-serve is, think again! This place also has an awesome grilled chicken sandwich and crinkle-cut fries, which are my fav.

The food is greasy, but the menu is pretty big for such a tiny little shack. The real reason everyone I know stops here, however, is the«junior» ice cream cone. It’s a soft-serve marvel. I always get the twist. It costs about a buck and is ENORMOUS. Value, people, is extraordinary. Driving through? Pull off I-5 and get thee some frozen goodness. The drive-through window can get crowded, but they send runners out to the car to speed things up. Staffed by local high school kids who do a surprisingly good job churning people through.

Best place for your grease fix in town. Lost of choices in how to get it too.
