The Grilled Cheese Emergency

I’m a huge fan of local business and local food but this one I cannot let go with a shrug.
They screwed up the order and then didn’t back it up. The sandwich we did get was puny and for the money they charge, I could make a dozen for the price I paid for TWO.
Every other business I’ve been to at the Chattanooga Market was just amazing in service, personality and, mostly, value.
I’m sure they are lovely people, but the fact that there was only a shrug for screwing up the order and (for the option of paying again) they would have made another anemic sandwich that we could only hope was correct… oh well, live and learn (at my expense).

This isn’t your everyday grilled cheese this is grilled cheese for grown ups made with Havarti, Brie, Cheddar, PepperJack and yes you can get American too. The Cheeseman adds onions, pesto and other goodies to make these sandwiches scream yumminess as you eat them!

This is a must eat at food truck!

There are food trucks in Chattanooga! Awesome sauce.
I stumbled upon a couple today and The Grilled Cheese Emergency instantly caught my eye. I LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches. Seriously, it is a passion of mine, to make, eat, imagine new versions…
William, the owner, is just so nice and friendly. He came to Chattanooga about two years ish ago, bought an ambulance and (in about six months) turned it into the most darling little food truck. For grilled cheeses, all kinds of grilled cheeses!
Since it was my first visit, I went for the cheddar melt– a classic, on Texas Toast, buttered of course and sprinkled with Parmesan on the outside, and just the right amount of melted cheesy goodness inside. I love how he wraps your sandwich in wax paper then aluminum foil– if you are like me and eat it as you walk (or on a warmer day, grab a streetside bench and enjoy) this is handy to keep it warm and fun to «peel» back the wrappers.
I look forward to trying his other creations, like the Ham and Havarti with homemade pesto, or the roast chicken with bacon and arugula and…
For $ 4.00, this girl was a very happy camper today!
