First of all I have to thank Stephanie and Unilocal for putting this together! This was an amazing Unilocal event! As a lifestyle blogger, who made it her job to post a cocktail once a week, I was so excited when I heard that there was a bar/restaurant coming to Chattanooga with a focus on excellent food and craft cocktails. It was going to be called STIR and would be opening up at the newly renovated Chattanooga Choo Choo. Then to make my dreams come true, I was invited to this Unilocal event before they even opened to the public! As soon as I walked in, I fell in love with the huge bar and the whole layout of the place.(I’ll save details for when I go back and eat and drink as a regular customer.) I saw other Unilocalers in the back and headed to our group. You could tell how excited everyone was! After checking in, we were handed a piece of paper with a list of the cocktails and beer and wine available(you can see it in my photos). As I read about the Elderflower Sour, the Whiskey Bramble, and the Boxcar — just to name a few, I couldn’t believe how good each and every one of them sounded! I was going to make it my mission to taste as many as I could — hey it’s a hard job, but someone has to do it. The wait staff were amazing. They made sure that we were well taken care of. The bar staff did an excellent job. I know how difficult it is to make craft cocktails, and though they might take a little longer to make, they are worth the wait. To make it even better, we were shown a demonstration of how they make their super clear ice. Then the chef even came out to discuss their philosophy. Oh, and the cocktails? Amazing. Every single one. Picking a favorite would be like picking my favorite child. But, if you insist — it was the Whiskey Bramble. Soooo good. Then to top it off they brought out trays of food. I would like to tell you all about the food, however, I was outside taking artsy photos of my cocktails and missed most of it! Apparently it was quite good and the few nibbles that I got confirmed that. Outside taking photos of my cocktails? Yes. Perhaps one of my favorite parts of the restaurant is the outside seating area. It’s a cozy deck with windows that open to the bar. Genius. I loved the string lights and the whole vibe. Fabulous Unilocal event!

First, thank you Stephanie and owners of the STIR for hosting our group. I attended this as an open house for Unilocal members! It was not yet open but I think it opens this Monday. It is located on the corner of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel(Holiday Inn) and right across from the Terminal Restaurant. I am not sure about parking but I know there is parking behind the Choo Choo but not sure if it is available. I was on my scooter so parking was not a problem for me. For our out of town guests I like to remind them if you downtown at the other end by the Aquarium or in between, there is a free shuttle that will drop you off right at the Choo Choo. We had a great turnout and the wait staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. They came around and took orders for drinks and they were obviously very proud and excited to be working there. The chef came out about an hour into our 2 hour event and talked about their selection of food and service. Another gentleman gave us a demonstration of how they make their ice and how pure it is. and trust me it was as clear as could be! We were provided with an awesome selection of mixed drinks and a pretty good selection of draught beer. When the food came out in large trays for our tables and it was just as impressive. They had oysters, shrimp, fries(cooked the way they should be. might have been peanut oil) and other great samples of food. The meals will have to be great if what I had was any indication. I give it a 5+ and I suggest you give it a try… I will be. and in fact the outside seating is for me. well maybe when it warms up some.

Great Unilocal event. I agree with others that this was the best one that I have ever attended. It always nice to see Emily at these events. Also thanks to Stephanie for putting this together to make a great evening after work. The location was great too as it was at the new Stir which is to the right of the Chattanooga Choo Choo. I do remember going seeing this structure of few years ago and it was no where near this nice. I don’t even remember lights being on in this building. But it’s nice now. Anyway, it’s always nice to see other Unilocal friends when they have these events. I even got a couple Unilocal items which I like. If you never been to a Unilocal event, I recommend going to one as they are fun.
