Server was great. Bread was great. Table was dirty when seated– we wiped our own seats and had to ask for table to cleaned. Plates brought out were unclean. Table was unlevel and kept rocking. Bacon smashed potatoes had almost no bacon. Salad consisted of 1 tiny tomato, 1 slice of cucumber, and 3 croutons. But the bread was great

6 months after our earlier rotten experience, my family tried O’Charley’s again. 2 hours later,(after three surrounding tables have walked out for lack of food), we waited for our pie and checks. The kitchen staff and wait staff are yelling at one another in the back of house, the food was barely warm. The kitchen is a disaster while the servers are working hard. We’ll try again later… maybe 6 more months?

My wife and I wanted to try the Prime Rib Lover’s special that O’Charley’s was advertising where two P.R. dinners with one side each and one appetizer to share was being sold for $ 12.99 each which came to just under $ 30 without the tip. We went to the closest one which happened to be their Hixson, Tn location. They only gave us three choices for their selected apps and we were told the Tater Tot Fondue was to die for so we decided to try that one. The waitress told us that the long wait we were experiencing was due to only having one cook in the back for the entire restaurant so we couldn’t blame her for the delay but it sounds as though they need better management and scheduling. Honestly the melted cheese was the only high point of their Fondue app so we were really looking forward to the P.R. which took a little under an hour to acquire. I knew I was in trouble as soon as I had taken the first bite and I chewed and chewed but it seemed to be more muscle than meat so I tried another bite and it wasn’t much better so after trying four small bites I approached what I thought to be the manager and told him that the P.R. was way to tough to eat so he sent a lady that I assumed was over the kitchen to speak with us and she was sympathetic and said sometimes they get bad cuts of meat so she would try getting us another set of entrees from another P.R. in the back. Well after about another 15 minute wait on top the hour we had some edible meat but my thoughts are that if your looking for a nice piece of Prime Rib don’t go to O’Charley’s. Their other food is actually quite tasty except for their new Tater Tot Fondue(I don’t see that one lasting too long on the menu) and I have been very happy with it, but their beef, especially thier P.R., is truly disappointing. I’ve had better portions of sirloin steak than what I found in their P.R.

I’ve been here on business all week and have eaten here twice. First on my own and then with a coworker. Each time the service has been great. Tonight I had ordered salmon with brocolli and the server brought out a second serving of brocolli without my asking because she didn’t feel like mine looked right. And honestly I was fine with the meal. Food has been very good, but the service has definitely been the key factor. Keep up the good work.

My husband and I use to frequent this O’Charley’s since they started free pie Wednesday. We didn’t care about the free pie as much as our weekly lunch date. It’s either good food or horrible food, and so for that reason I can’t recommend this place at all. The last time we went(four months ago) I ordered a pasta dish with an alfredo sauce. It came to my table as pasta and glue. Almost entirely inedible. I choked it down and showed the manager what I was served and he couldn’t care less about the garbage I was fed. He tried to charm me instead with a lame excuse as it’s okay, it just set under the heat light too long. And, again, for that reason there is one star. So that is 4 X 4=16 weeks they haven’t received their $ 30 from us. With Ichiban next door, and a quality Applebee’s a block away there is no way we’ll give our money to O’Charley’s any more. free pie or not.

I don’t know why I like this chain. Bah, who am I kidding, I know EXACTLY why I like this place. I like this place because I’m a sucker for that cheese soup and because it still serves unlimited rolls. When I was a teenager with limited disposable income and insatiable caloric requirements, those rolls served a darn purpose! As I’m wont to do, I went back to order some nostalgia over Christmas, and we had a perfectly decent lunch as a family without throwing anything at each other(at least over the table). Had fantastic service to boot, so it’s yet another case of me rounding on up on a 3.5. I don’t work across the street anymore, and most of the landmarks have changed up, but it’s comforting to think that I’ll pop back into Hixson from time to time and have that soup, read the latest fundamentalist Christian propaganda on Karl’s sign across the way, and know where I’m from.

Okay, Hixson O’Charleys … you are okay. But we went to a franchise in Franklin, TN and they blow you out of the water! Now I know what an O’Charley’s could be like. Not all are created equal.

I realize this place is a chain, but I’ve never been before and it’s where my friend’s grandfather wanted to take us for dinner. Also, it hasn’t been reviewed yet. FTRFTW! There really isn’t a whole lot to say. The place reminds me of an Applebee’s or a Chili’s. They have a «8 under $ 8» menu and I decided on the Mushroom and Bleu Cheese Sirloin from that. I wasn’t going for a low-calorie meal, but this one apparently has 550 calories or less. The steak was a good cut and cooked exactly medium-rare as I had ordered. The grilled roma tomatoes were also very flavorful. Would I go out of my way for this place? Doubtful. But with good food and nice prices, it’s certainly a solid choice. 3.5 stars
