The ice cream was delish. Made locally in town, the variety of flavors were wondrous. If you’re unsure about what your taste buds want, ask for a sample. The ice cream is priced by weight. It comes out to be about $ 0.60/oz. If you get one scoop, it’s about $ 2.50. You can do a half scoop of two flavors too if you’re indecisive(avocado and lavender rose were delish!). There is also shakes, malts, floats, and other delectable drinks to choose from. You can enter Clumpies from the back stair entrance or from the store front side.

I Was here over the weekend and had to try out this city staple! Ice cream is one of my favorite foods, so it’s hard to go wrong and I did sort of… I got the Curious george and the cookies and cream. they are both delish in their own right, but when i got up to the register I saw one of the girls there combining a container of their Praline ice cream. I asked for a sample… and oh man… I wish that’s what I would’ve gotten! Or a sundae… but oh well… I still really enjoyed my ice cream.

Really great atmosphere and can’t beat the ice cream. Kids, me, and friends all liked it. Lots of different flavors, even some savory ones. Will definitely be back when we come into town. Ice cream is my weakness.

The line is long and sometimes the staff a bit inefficient, however the ice cream itself is divine. I had the chattanooga whiskey pretzel crunch and it was newrly the best ice cream Ive ever had. Smooth creamy with no one flavor over powering the others. A must stop for the ice cream lovers out there.

The ladies were super sweet, very helpful, and the ice cream was wonderful! They let me sample any flavors I wanted and even added extra sprinkles to my waffle cone

Super delicious!!! This is definitely a spot you need to check out when you come to Chattanooga TN. Walk the beautiful blue bridge and stop by Clumpies! Home made hand rolled waffle cones. They’re always fresh and crispy. A perfect combination with a nice scoop of strawberry ice cream! Their ice cream selection is extensive and also unique. There’s a ton of off the wall flavors that are worth a try. Be prepared for a long line as this is a spectacular spot everyone loves to stop by. The wait isn’t bad though it moves fast with their dynamite team of scoopers!

Revisited this spot when we were in Chattanoga and enjoyed the ice cream, in spite of the long line. Fresh waffle cones are constantly made and it smells delicious. To give you an idea of pricing, we got 4 single scoop ice creams with 3 in waffle cones and one in a cup and the total was $ 11. It is roughly $ 3 for a single scoop in a fresh waffle cone. One scoop would be enough for a serving of ice cream for an adult and more than enough for a child. Tried the cantaloupe mint, avocado, pistachio, and chocolate chocolate chunk. I liked in the order listed from best to worst. I would get the cantaloupe mint and avocado again but those are featured flavors so they might not be around for long. Tip: They have a buy one get one half off coupon in the Rocky City passport book.

We have good friend who live in Chatt. Whenever we go we have to stop at Clumpies for Ice Cream. Great flavors and they change them often.

On a scale with other specialty ice cream parlors, I’d rank Clumpies within the mean. Ice cream is always a fun experience on a bright summer day when you’re with friends and/or family. I wasn’t blown away but I wasn’t disappointed. I’d like to go back again and try their sorbets. I typically rank a specialty place by their sorbets, but I wasn’t in the mood for fruity.

Best Ice Cream in the North Shore, or even Aquarium area(walk across the walnut st bridge, its beautiful and you’ll burn some calories). They have a staple of core flavors. If you have kids recommend the Firecracker. This this blue moon or the blue portion of «Superman» Ice Cream(two flavors originally from the midwest that southerners seem to know little about), with poprocks on it. My kids love it. So half the menu is core flavors, half changes. They are an experimental ice cream place, always something unique to try. different and unique flavors you’ll not find elsewhere. I’m dinging one star because there isn’t a really epic chocolate as a core flavor, or that comes up often enough in the rotating list. There is an ice cream I miss from where we used to live that was dark chocolate with oreo pieces, fudge, and little english toffee bits. Really hitting the chocolate notes hard. I usually get the chocolate peanut butter,(like the salty with sweet) and then a scoop of whatever new flavor is most interesting. Carrot Cake being a recent example. Staff is nice and friendly, the store itself I think really has the community spirit.

My mom and I were craving sweets, so I looked on Unilocal and found this place! It’s in downtown Chattanooga in a nice area where there are small shops. When we first entered the store, it just smelled like pastries… but then we saw the long line. We waited in the back of the store where the line was and waited maybe 10 minutes to get to the front of the store and order? Which we didn’t think it was that long. Plus we got to observe the menu and have our orders ready while we were waiting in line. There were SOOO many choices. I think they change out flavors every now and then so when you come, it might be different every time. While we were also in line, one of the workers kept making waffle cones. FRESH waffles cones right in front of our eyes. That’s when I was like, «I’m definitely getting a waffle cone.» I’m not even a waffle cone/cone kind of girl! If I do get a waffle cone, I end up eating the ice cream and giving the rest(of the cone) to my husband because he likes cones. So. I got a waffle cone with pistachio & vanilla bean ice cream. My mom got a waffle cone with strawberry & pistachio ice cream. BOTHWEREDELCIOUS! I finished the whole ice cream including all of the cone(which I must say was crisp and a little soft too: perfection). If I’m ever in town, I’ll definitely come here again and this time to try different flavors. :)

Very sweet spot with other small boutique/shops nearby. I enjoy the variety of flavors they had and some of them were very unique! They have seasonal flavors with whiskey in it! Mmmm. As of the décor inside, it’s where hipster style and rustic mix. The seating was spread out so it good for a big party or if it gets a little crowded. I didn’t really had a particular flavor that«whoa» me but I did enjoy the Chai and Coffee mix ice cream. This is also near the Tennessee River where you can walk on the bridge and enjoy the city lights.

Previous reviews of ice cream parlors have established ice cream as a vice point and snob point for me, so if you’re wanting to hear about Clumpies from this sort of POV, read on. It’s hard not to be entranced by Clumpies. It’s local, it’s in an awesomely cute neighborhood, parking is easy, there’s a line of happy customers, it smells amazing inside, employees are patient and friendly, prices are very reasonable, and best of all — the small-batch hand-crafted ice cream is wonderful. At this point, if you’re satisfied, just head to Clumpies and get your behind in line! You won’t regret it. If you’re curious as to why this self-professed ice cream connoisseur approves of Clumpies, read on. If there’s one thing that drives me nuts about ice cream, it’s when it’s artificially-colored for sport — to look a certain way or to appeal to kids who pick based on the brightness of something. Intrigued by Clumpies claim of small-batch/homemade/premium, I applied my test. which consists of finding out if their mint ice cream and pistachio ice creams are green or white in color. I asked the employee, and she emphatically stated that they were white! Score! No food coloring! The taste reminds me of the similar consistency and premium-level of a Ben & Jerry’s(also no coloring in their IC) — smooth, thick, great mouthfeel, and just the right amount of chunks buried in the scoop that aren’t so big that they won’t stick to the ice cream balanced on a cone. Choose from at least 20 flavors of ice cream — from classics like strawberry, chocolate, vanilla bean, etc. to more exotic such as Mayan Spiced Chocolate, Strawberry Balsamic, and Coconut Almond. They also have a full cadre of sorbets for those who prefer that route. They of course will mix you up a malt or shake if that’s your thing, and they have a full complement of toppings, fresh-baked waffle cones, etc. And, last but not least, don’t be confused about the«$ 0.60 per ounce» pricing; just tell them you want«small» scoops or a «tiny bit» or «a lot», for example, and since everything is hand-dipped to order, just tell your scooper if you want more or less. It’s easy and inexpensive! And so tasty!

Picture this. In hotel room. Gets craving for ice cream. Googles A+ ice cream in Chattanooga. Finds Clumpies and hurries over. Walks in and sees line. Hangs head. Picks up head in delight in response to aroma of freshly made waffle cones. Gladly walks to back of line and patiently waits while making the hard decision of which ice cream to choose. Gets to front of line. Pays. Instant gratification. Happiness. Well, there was a little in between, but not much. As soon as you walk in, the waffle cones hit you like a ton of bricks. Such a pleasant scent to behold whilst waiting for my beloved ice cream. Several of the flavors I really wanted were out by the time we arrived. But it was after 10pm on the 4th of July in a popular ice creamery. So a long line, missing flavors, charge it to the game. However, the staff was helpful and pleasant and had no qualms with helping me choose the flavor I wanted by allowing me to sample a few flavors. Even the cashier was still smiling widely, which made me feel like the $ 6(2 scoops in a waffle cone with extra topping) I just spent on ice cream was so worth it. And it was! The waffle cone was really delicious! I got Coconut almond chunk with caramel drizzled on top. It was soooooo good. Also, you pay by the oz, so it’s like a froyo spot in that aspect. $.60 /oz I believe. And a waffle cone adds about a dollar, so plan accordingly. I would love to go back on a less busy day and partake of my creamy delights inside. It was so spacious and old school ice cream parlor, meets new, rustic Chattanooga. Fits in great with the rest of the small business-scape of downtown Chattanooga. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by.

The smell is amazing when you first walk in! I felt like I entered a sweet dessert kitchen! Long line inside, but it went super fast. The employees were really nice as well. Here’s what we got/tried: Coconut almond chunk = loved the chunks of chocolate and shredded pieces of coconut and almonds, the entire combo was great! Strawberry basil = wow! this one was amazing! You can taste the strawberry and basil and both didn’t over power the other, it was perfect! Strawberry balsamic = balsamic is pretty strong, so yes it does overpower the strawberry flavor a bit, but it was still good! I loved the unique flavors! Great job and the ice cream, staff and overall experience was great! Great place to stop in on a hot day if your walking the Bridge or if you’re at the kids water/carousel area at Coolidge Park.

I would like to write a more complete & compelling review, but all I can come up with is this: SWEETPOTATOCASSEROLEICECREAM. It’s sweet &y marshmallowy & one of the tastiest things I’ve ever consumed, even on freezing-cold winter days. You’re gonna want to do this, I promise you.

Always a tasty treat, but the night we visited last was PACKED! The place was full of high school kids, in town for some sort of band competition from what I could gather. Thankfully, the line moved fairly quickly. Pralines & cream with Mayan chocolate for me, the regular boring vanilla for the sweetie. The ice cream was good, as usual… But I did, at one point, almost suggest going home and eating the Häagen-Dazs we had in the freezer. I enjoy Clumpies(actually, most places) a bit more with a less chaotic in-store experience. Also, is been a while since I’d been there and didn’t realize that they were charging by weight of the product served. I understand this pricing at a fro-yo joint when you serve yourself but not so much when someone else is doing the scooping. Hmmm. A good pick downtown… But so is the nearby Milk & Honey ;-)

Didn’t have the ice cream but the sorbet was good! I much prefer the strawberry sorbet and I wanted to like the pineapple but the little stringies from the fruit gave it a weird texture. Hubs had the pistachio ice cream and he liked it. The line was long when we stopped by but wasn’t too bad. Will definitely have to try out some other flavors. Would be nice to try the brownie sundae but I saw somebody else order it in front me and it’s insane big so I will definitely have to wait until I have at least 5 other people willing to share with me(or they offer a baby size). LOL.

Stopped in mid-afternoon today to satisfy an ice cream fix before departing Chattanooga for home. Will was working the counter, he was very friendly and let me sample some Maple Bacon flavored before I chose a two scoop bowl of Cinnamon Stick and Pumpkin. Felt the Pumpkin flavored ice cream was OK, but the Cinnamon Stick was outstanding, very good. My fiancée ordered two scoops also — Coffee Toffee and Pumpkin. She thought both were delicious, she loved them. Some Unilocalers complained of crowds/long lines at Clumpies, we did not experience any of that because we were here on a Friday at the end of October, temps in the 50’s.
